MANY PAY TRIBUTE AT ANZAC DAY SERVICES Thousands attended 16 Anzac Day services across the Isaac region last week.
Anzacs very much defining our national character and what it is to be Australian.
Mayor Anne Baker offered recognition toward those who paid the ultimate sacrifice and saw the spirit of Australia was still alive in the people who showed up at services.
“We paused today to acknowledge all current and former members of our defence forces, the brave men and women who represent our country on a daily basis.
“The names of fallen soldiers are not only etched in bronze and stone on memorials across Isaac, but also in the collective consciousness of a grateful nation,” Mayor Baker said.
“We paused to honour the heroism, tenacity, and resilience that permeates through our culture today because of the sacrifices made for us.
“Anzac Day remains a defining moment in the shared history of Australia and New Zealand.
“We paused to remind ourselves that our Anzac’s thought this wonderful country of ours was worth fighting and dying for.”
