Landowners to participate in free pest animal baiting program Isaac Regional Council is encouraging rural landholders to participate in their free pest animal 1080 baiting program for the year, available over two, six week rounds across the region.
wild dogs and feral pigs, both of which are Class 2 declared pests under the Land Protection (Pest and Stock Route Management) Act 2002.
Round one will occur from Monday March 2 to Thursday April 16 and round two from Monday October 12 to Thursday November 19, 2015, weather depending.
If landowners are unable to participate in the above rounds or would like to conduct baiting programs, Council can supply factory baits. Orders for factory baits have to be made in advance and will be supplied to rural landowners at cost price.
Rural landowners must confirm a booking with Council to participate in the above 1080 injected meat baiting rounds, which is provided as a free service. The 1080 Baiting Program is aimed at controlling

The use of 1080 is strictly regulated by Queensland Health, and stringent requirements must be met by landholders placing poisoned baits.
