Steady stream of quality steers at Clermont cattle sale Isaac's cattle centre has turned more than 70,000 head in sales and transit services annually.
Clermont Saleyards, owned and operated by Isaac Regional Council, has seen cattle growth rise, with liveweight gains of up to 250kg a head per year.

Mayor Anne Baker said Isaac has a very proud agricultural way of life and the region continues to provide great opportunities to live, work and raise families.
Troy and Ann Kinnon from New Corry, Clermont sold Simmental cross steers to top at 308c/kg for 306kgs to return $943 while their sister reached 281c/kg for 283kgs to make $797.

“From about 25 feedlots, beef is a $212 million Industry exported to overseas markets such as America, Japan, Korea and Taiwan and is also available locally,” she said.
Blaten Industries Coppabella sold Charolais steers to top at 270c/kg for 430kgs to come back at $1160.

“We supply 64 per cent of the total gross livestock value for the broader Mackay-Isaac-Whitsunday region.”
Michael Borg and family from Calveston, Clermont sold Brahman steers for 305c/kg for 287kgs to make $876. While their Gelbvieh cross heifers topped 280c/kg for 292kgs to return $819.

Quality steers weighing between 220kg and 320kg topped Clermont’s cattle sale at 308 cents last week.
Tony and Taj Jones from Lou Lou Park, Jericho sold Brahman cows to reach 201c/kg for 525kgs to make $1058.

The Clein family of Bundarra, Nebo sold a run of Brangus Cross heifers to top at 274c/kg for 210kgs to return $575.
Division 1 Councillor Dale Appleton said Clermont staged a steady August Store and Prime Sale on Wednesday, August 9. “Clermont combined agents sold 400 head of cattle, mainly from Nebo, Jericho and local areas,” he said. With all producers happy with the results, Hoch and Wilkinson partner Jake Passfield said it was a solid sale with good quality steers in particular in demand.
