Page-turning voyage awaits for Isaac libraries A nationally-recognised library event is set to unleash the inner workings of a child's imagination in Isaac.
A nationally-recognised library event is set to unleash the inner workings of a child’s imagination in Isaac. Isaac Regional Council libraries will dive into the creative pool of literature for the 2017 CBCA Children’s Book Week from August 19-26. Mayor Anne Baker said the week’s theme Escape to Everywhere will encourage children to embark on a page-turning voyage with a book. “Established in 1945, the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) was founded at a time when Australian children’s books were few," Mayor Baker said. “And Australian authors and illustrators were virtually unknown.
“Each year, across Isaac, the CBCA’s Children’s Book Week is a prime opportunity to discover favourite and new stories. “This year, Escape to Everywhere will take children on an adventure, exploring the wonderful world of books and sharing the amazing shortlisted CBCA Children’s Books of the Year.” 2017 Children Book Week celebrations in Clermont Library - Friday, August 25 - 9.30am to 10.30am Mayor Baker has encouraged children to take part in this fun event by bring their beloved book or dressing as their favourite book character.
