Clermont Show - The Isaac Region’s Show Clermont Show Youth Competition contributed by Kate Flohr The Clermont Show Committee is excited to once again host the Youth Competitions as part of this year’s Clermont Show - The Isaac Region’s Show, including the very popular Mini Miss Showgirl, Junior and Mini Rural Ambassador competitions.
The Junior Rural Ambassador category is open to both male and female entrants and eligibility has an age bracket of 15 to 20 years. The Mini categories in both the Miss Showgirl and Rural Ambassador competitions invite children ( boys or girls) in Primary School Years 3 to 6, to enter and become involved. Brendan Brieffies, the 2016 Rural Ambassador encourages more young people in the region to get involved. Brendan said, “Rural Ambassador was a fantastic opportunity to meet some like-minded young people with a passion for agriculture. “I would definitely recommend entering to any young person who works in or is interested in the agricultural industry”.
2016 Miss Showgirl, Johanna Robertson said, “Showgirl is a vital part of the show movement as it encourages young ladies to become involved in their local Show. “It’s a lot of fun being able to get dressed up and meet new people through the Show, as well as making lifelong friends through other showgirls of our Central Highlands region”. The interviews and judging for Senior, Junior and Mini Miss Showgirls and Rural Ambassadors will take place on Saturday May 6 at the Anglican Hall, Clermont. Announcement of winners and presentations will be held that evening at Clermont Show’s family event Fun in the Gum.
