I am SO happy 2020 is about to be over, though, in this tragedy of a year, I was grateful for everything and everyone I had in my life, and also being able to grow my fashion knowledge, experience, and my page. Now being in December, I’m very excited to reminisce on the fashion highlights of the year and what is to come in 2021. MASKS ARE IN! Not only do masks help prevent the spread of COVID-19, but they’ve actually become the perfect accessory to finish off your look! Plus, they're a great face warmer for the winter. Many popular brands such as PrettyLittleThing and Forever 21 began releasing different styles of masks, along with smaller-owned businesses. Brands have even been created by selling masks! The quarantine also accelerated the popularity of loungewear. I know I wasn’t the only one bumming it all Quarantine. During the lockdown, many people realized they didn’t own many cute AND comfortable clothing, hence the rise of loungewear. Sweatpants, Jordan Ones, and oversized tees became the ideal outfit for many social media users. In 2021, I believe we’re going to up the level of style even more. I see bright colors, originality, bling, and for sure Y2K (2000’s style). The 2000s were just so iconic for the fashion world, I truly believe it will never go away. My advice to my fashion fanatics would be to go bold no matter if you’re just going to be chilling at home or having a night out with friends. Stay true to your style, but don’t be afraid of change or trends. Be ahead of the game, but still call the plays. Your style speaks to who you are, so don’t be something you’re not. Get inspiration from others, it’s okay for your look to be inspired. Be open to other’s styles and what that may mean to them before criticizing their looks. 2021 is going to be all about originality and boldness, this year will be exciting and definitely open many doors in the fashion universe, so stay tuned.
