The Tutoring Centers assist IRSC students in achieving academic success through individual and group tutoring, faculty-requested review sessions and workshops. Tutors guide students through challenging learning experiences to support successful learning outcomes while simultaneously encouraging them to become independent learners. The Tutoring Center also provides virtual learning tools and a quiet study space on each campus.

The Tutoring Centers Help Students • Understand difficult course concepts; • Navigate complex homework assignments; • Review material for tests across disciplines; • Write and revise papers; and • Prepare for tests.

Supported Subjects • Mathematics • Science (chemistry, biology and physics) • Health Science • Language (including reading, English, writing assistance and literature analysis) • Test prep assistance for the P.E.R.T., TABE, ACT®, SAT®, HESI A2 and other exams The Tutoring Centers cater to specialized learning needs of current and future IRSC students through: • Free tutoring—In-person tutoring is available at all Tutoring Center locations. Virtual tutoring is available online for all supported subjects; • Physical learning resources—This includes learning guides for all supported subjects, anatomical charts and models, microscopes slides (for biological science students), Smartboards, white boards, group study rooms, individual study areas, and computer and printer access; • Virtual learning resources—Virtual learning guides are available for all supported subjects and archived recorded review sessions; and • After school program—Qualifying area students who are enrolled in high-school level courses and complete an entrance interview may visit the Tutoring Center for homework assistance and P.E.R.T./ ACT®/SAT® prep with tutors.
