When Alyssa first came to us she shared her vision of a high-end timeless, elegant experience. Her fiancé, Alex, even joked, “Can you just bring the French Riviera over to Milwaukee?”. So off we went to bring that vision to life. Since we know details are key, we started with stationary to compliment name tents, fans to wave and splashes of blue floral. These then all sang back to the wedding party and the couple of honor. A & A’s pups got their own spotlight in their chic three-tier cake. We brought in butlers to serve refreshments, a pianist and violinist to set the mood and a stunning end of the night dress that gave Audrey Hepburn a run for her money.

WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND

I learned so much while creating this issue. Did you know peplum is back? Neither did I. Yet here we are in 2026, and the once-ubiquitous early-2010s silhouette has returned, and dare I say, better than ever. Just take a look at our cover and page 64. My apologies to the millennials and Gen Zers who may have parted ways with their beloved tops.

But I digress. What stood out most was how couples are using the power of storytelling within their celebration. From custom toile linens (page 146) to a music-themed seating chart (page 52), these weddings invite guests into their love story. Turn each page and you’ll find no shortage of fresh ideas, from restaurant “I dos” (page 44) and dress codes (page 48) to monobloom bouquets (page 148) and stellar second looks (page 51).

And the innovation doesn’t stop there! The Best of 2026 Editor’s Choice Awards kick off on page 50. From a luxe real wedding at a grand manor, a picture-perfect moment, artistic bouquet and more, these are the extraordinary details that made me do a double take this year.

Our features delve into the allure of quiet luxury and refined elegance. The journey begins in downtown Milwaukee at The Society, where regal gowns featuring classic structures and timeless details take the spotlight. Beautifully photographed by Andrew Parsons, each look serves as an ode to opulence (page 60). Next up: the historic Maxwell Mansion. Here, Renee Breanne Design + Co. curated a setting that exuded the feeling of collected sophistication. The creative team ensured every element harmoniously worked together to channel a distinctly vintage Ralph Lauren aesthetic (page 72).

With trends constantly coming and going, I encourage you to look back in time and find what truly speaks to you—whether it’s a detail from your favorite ’90s film (page 38), a hat from your mother’s wedding day (page 40) or a ’70s-inspired mini dress (page 152).

No matter what you decide, with social media and outside opinions of what you “should” or “should not” do can become all-consuming. Every other reel may feel like you’re doing too much, or not enough, for your celebration. Amid all the chaos, remember what truly matters: making yourself and your partner happy. With that in mind, pour yourself a cocktail, or mocktail, light a candle, kick back and enjoy. I hope this issue is as fun for you to read, as it was for our team to put together! Cheers to you!

RAISING A GLASS TO WHAT’S NEXT

If there’s one thing we know how to do well in this industry, it’s how to celebrate. And this issue feels like one worth raising a glass to!

Stepping back into the role of Publisher for Wisconsin Bride feels both exciting and deeply meaningful. This brand has been inspiring couples and championing Wisconsin’s wedding community for more than 20 years—and getting to be part of its next chapter is truly an honor.

Wisconsin Bride has never just been a magazine. It has been a celebrated showcase of ideas, creativity and people. It has told love stories that feel personal and timeless. It has introduced couples to the venues, planners, designers, florists, photographers and visionaries who turn wedding dreams into reality. And it has celebrated the artistry that makes Wisconsin’s wedding community so incredibly special. It’s about the couples who trust us during one of the most joyful seasons of their lives. And it’s about a community that continues to show up for one another, year after year.

As we look ahead, we’re leaning into what we do best: telling gorgeous stories, highlighting incredible local talent and creating meaningful connections. You’ll see us continue to evolve—in print, online and at our events—while staying rooted in the relationships that built this brand in the first place.

To our members and industry partners, thank you for your continued trust and collaboration. And to our readers and newly engaged couples, thank you for allowing us to be part of such a meaningful season in your lives.

This issue marks both a return and a fresh start for me, and I couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead. Here’s to love, community and the next 20 years of Wisconsin Bride

NIGHT AT THE MASQUERADE

SPRING/SUMMER 2026 ISSUE RELEASE PARTY

Wisconsin Bride welcomed the local wedding community to Pearl & Cade in downtown Milwaukee for a moody, glamorous masquerade celebrating the release of the Spring/Summer 2026 issue. Designed and planned by Miriam Events Co., the evening embraced dramatic styling, rich textures and an air of mystery that set the tone from the moment guests arrived. The space was transformed with layered rentals and décor from Ambrosia Events and Event Essentials, complemented by artful graphics and paper goods by Fest Paper and Design. Candlelit details and a jewel-toned palette enhanced Pearl & Cade’s intimate atmosphere, while Celebrations Entertainment ensured seamless AV throughout the night. Beyond Twisted Salon and Taylor Dawn Makeup prepared the Wisconsin Bride team for the evening with beautifully glam looks.

Guests mingled over mouthwatering bites, including a sprawling charcuterie board, truffle deviled eggs, miniature pineapple upside-down cakes and more from Brazen Standard, alongside mysteriously delivered cocktails from the venue’s bar, while entertainment by Emily & Alex provided a live, dreamy soundtrack. Playful touches included “moon water” shots (with Pop Rock bumps!) by Happy Joy Hospitality, adding a whimsical twist to the masquerade mood. Interactive moments invited guests to linger, including a permanent jewelry experience by Kalina & Co. Jewelry and a photo booth by Erika RW Photography. Content creation by Aside the Bride captured the celebration in real time, and the night was further documented by The Polka Dot Co. and Willow Film. Saint Kate – The Arts Hotel provided accommodations for the Wisconsin Bride team. The Masquerade marked a striking and celebratory launch for the Wisconsin wedding community’s upcoming season.

ENCHANTED GARDEN

What unfolds when a sea of bright botanicals meets three furry plus ones and a tabletop adorned in Versace Butterfly Garden china? An intimate, garden-inspired wedding day for incredibly chic couple, Ellen and Eric. For their September celebration at their private residence, the couple envisioned something small and simple yet brimming with an abundance of florals and a beautifully curated menu to match.

With just 14 guests in attendance, plus their three beloved dogs, the al fresco ceremony was a dream come true. A grand floral arch of dahlias, roses and hydrangeas romantically framed the scene. A string duet of cello and violin carried the ambiance into cocktail hour where thoughtfully prepared cuisine by Le Personal Chef, Chef Sami Fgaier, was passed among guests.

Adding a layer of enchantment, dinner was held in Ellen and Eric’s onsite greenhouse. Sunlight trickled in, casting a warm glow onto the dazzling design. The table was dressed in Versace Butterfly Garden china, boasting delicate floral and butterfly motifs across a soft color palette. Flickering taper candles and arrangements of fanciful blooms completed the tablescape, creating a setting that felt both timeless and quietly luxurious.

THIRD COAST PROVISIONS

(@3cprovisions) stands as a beacon of innovative dishes and fresh seafood, sans the plane ticket. Nestled in downtown Milwaukee, their bright spaces are the perfect balance of elevated elegance and relaxed warmth. From intimate pre-wedding dinners to full-scale celebrations, the restaurant offers both semi-private and private dining options to suit a range of styles.

As a sister restaurant to Merriment Social and Flourchild Pizza, the menu is just as enticing as the atmosphere. Guests can enjoy mouthwatering dishes like the cult-favorite lobster pot pie, pictured below. Anyone else getting hungry? Pair your meal with a selection from the impressive cocktail list, or slip away to the Northwoods-themed cocktail bar, The Loon Room, for a more intimate sip.

For couples seeking a tailored culinary service, Milwaukee Street Catering unites the best of Third Coast Provisions, Merriment Social and Flourchild Pizza to create customized concepts for every celebration. According Joe Lowery, director of operations, weddings are increasingly centered around the guest experience. “Clients want to encourage guests to mingle with one another, and one of the best ways to do that is through more interactive culinary experiences,” he says. “Caviar bumps are a great example.” For those craving exceptional cuisine and a dynamic dining escape, consider this your invitation to reserve a table, secure a private space or indulge in a customized catering experience. —Sydney Stevens

WITH LOVE MADE

While couples everywhere yearn for a completely customized wedding day, Cat and Mitch decided to take on the trend with their own hands, along with the help of their loved ones. The vision for their outdoor wedding day was a little bit Dirty Dancing , a little kitsch and a whole lot of Wisconsin summertime romance. The ultimate DIY bride, Cat’s artistry touched every aspect of the day, starting with designing the playing-cardinspired invites. Imbuing the day with over-the-top whimsy, she also crafted giant paper flowers to frame the seating chart, which appeared to bend and sway in the summer breeze. Her dear friend and florist, Christina Huelsman, used playful, sculptural blooms, referencing the custom paper flowers to ensure the fanciful aesthetic was perfectly aligned. Cat enlisted her father to construct the wooden gallery wall, featuring photos and memorabilia from the happy couple’s 10-year relationship, alongside portraits of passed family members so they could attend the one-of-a-kind celebration in spirit. Thrifted bud vases and pottery from local ceramicists peppered the reception tables accompanied by watercolor place cards painted by the bride. Marked by colorful pennant flags representing their Peru engagement, the tented reception was the perfect punctuation to Cat and Mitch’s creative “Camp Kreps” wedding day. Sipping on Hamm’s, indulging in five different wedding cakes and dancing the night away in their western boots, their celebration captured the essence of an endless summer, completely (hand)made with love. —Ryley S. COME RAIN OR SHINE

A wedding day showcases a year’s worth of decisions, from attire and cake flavor to floral arrangements and more, yet one element will remain a wild card: the weather. If you are determined to have an outdoor celebration, it’s likely you have been frantically googling weather averages or paid an Etsy witch to keep the rain at bay. Thankfully, there is a way to ensure your soirée is safe, comfortable and dry. Enter Andrew Leavitt, founder and CEO of concierge meteorology service, IRONIC (@ironicreports) . With his extensive background in event production and 24/7 weather desk team, Leavitt is making events right as rain. The pandemic’s downtime and the rise of outdoor weddings in 2020 led him to bring his revolutionary idea to life, and today Ironic serves bustling regions across the globe. The concept struck him when he was a groomsman at a friend’s wedding, and a small storm began to form. He knew it would be brief, but the planner moved everything indoors. The quick shower passed, and the sun came back, resulting in a ceremony drenched in perspiration rather than precipitation.

Unlike weather apps, Ironic’s meteorologists track exact locations and timing, utilizing real-time weather data to relay information to clients. From historical forecast reports to premium on-call meteorology, Leavitt’s team helps everyone involved in the event, such as informing photographers of rain-free timeframes for outdoor portraits, ensuring grounds are secure for tent builds, or advising a bride to ditch the veil before the wind makes it take flight. It’s a domino effect; weather can tip the first domino, and if the event team isn’t prepared, it can impact one of the most special days of your life. Ironic keeps events safe and running smoothly, but the real gift is priceless: peace of mind. —Sydney Stevens

A NEW CHAPTER

Happily ever after is usually followed by a lot of “whats.” What’s for dinner? What should we get at the grocery store? What do we want on this wall? What color should we paint our bedroom? The rose-colored glasses of newlywed bliss are removed, and you are faced with the reality of making dinner every night and creating a home that effortlessly encapsulates you as a couple—minus the “effortless” part because it is no easy feat. Luckily, there are two fresh books on the shelves ready to help newlyweds endure this new chapter of their lives.

The Newlywed Table by Maria Zizka is a book filled with easy-to-follow recipes that are equally delicious. Fret not about leftovers rotting in the fridge, most recipes have a “what to do with leftovers” section so you can get the most out of each dish. Featuring comfort foods like grilled cheese and tomato soup to sweet and savory breakfasts and beyond, there is no shortage of mouthwatering content. With advice on how to stock your kitchen, organization tips, wedding registry recommendations and more, you’ll be the next Gordon Ramsay in no time. For the Pinterest junkies and wannabe interior designers, The Newlywed Home is for you. Written by Anush J. Benliyan, this book is a wealth of information about producing a stylish, yet functional, abode with your partner. The book takes readers on a journey room by room, sharing advice ranging from design tips to storage ideas. No matter your aesthetic, this book guides you in shaping a space that honors your unique spirits while celebrating the life you are building side by side. —Sydney Stevens

WORK OF ART

TWO CEREMONY DESIGNS SHOWCASE HOW ART AND NATURE HARMONIOUSLY FUSE TOGETHER

SCULPTURAL SERENITY

Set against the raw, untamed beauty of northwestern Wisconsin, this sculptural ceremony site was equally serene as it was unique. Stout’s Island Lodge provided the perfect backdrop for Maddy and Matt’s wedding, where glistening waters, towering pines and sweeping natural vistas created a magical atmosphere. Though surrounded by an abundance of organic beauty, Maddy envisioned an outdoor ceremony with an artistic edge, and SERCE, Fersk Floral Artistry and Elysian Flower Club helped bring that vision to life. Amid swaying trees, a sculptural chiffon installation served as the ceremony’s focal point. Framed by an ethereal array of white anthurium, calla lilies and bunches of woodsy grasses, this design flawlessly blended modernity with nature.

SECRET GARDEN

The Milwaukee Art Museum stands as an iconic architectural gem in the 414. And rightfully so, its soaring ceilings and luminous white palette are the perfect canvas for an unforgettable celebration. For Lauren and Anders’ wedding day, the team at Events to a T and Briar Loft artfully brought the outside in, transforming the space into a romantic garden reverie. Clusters of hydrangeas, a dynamic blend of amaranthus and flourishing greenery garnished the aisle, seemingly taking root in the ground. The breathtaking chuppah stood at the end of the aisle, boasting strategically placed blooms. A beautiful composition emerged between delicate, textural flowers and a warm, earthy palette, creating a striking contrast against the museum’s crisp white architecture.

NOSTALGIACORE

WEDDING DAY PERSONALIZATION WITH NODS TO CLASSIC ’90s MOVIE

A tasteful blend of nostalgia and tradition, Layne and Nick Vander Heyden’s wedding day pulled inspiration from their time spent abroad, nights out with friends in Milwaukee and the bride’s favorite movie, The Parent Trap. Villa Bellezza proved to be the ideal setting for the nostalgic celebration to unfold, calling to mind both the vineyards the couple had toured during their trips to Spain and the father’s property in the ’90s movie. The bridal party wore T-shirts modeled after the fictional vineyard’s merchandise, changing “Parker Knoll” to the bride’s new last name, “Vander Heyden.” Leaning into the vineyard aesthetic, subtle cork and grape details were woven throughout the classically elegant reception scene, scored by Slovenian accordion music played by Nick’s grandfather. Perhaps the most notable nods to The Parent Trap took place on the dance floor. Layne and her father took part in a playful re-creation of the film’s iconic handshake and in a heartwarming highlight of the evening, the newlywed’s first dance was set to Nat King Cole’s “L-O-V-E.” Punctuating their personalized wedding day, Nick and Layne sent their guests home with custom “I Closed Vandy’s” bumper stickers in the likeness of stickers given out at Wolski’s, their favorite bar to frequent.

As nearlyweds lean into the idea of smaller celebrations, they are also shifting their focus to tying the knot at a places close to their hearts—restaurants and bars. Paying homage to a first date, a meaningful dinner locale or a neighborhood haunt, this allows couples to encompass guests in a particular feeling. “We have seen a rise in inquiries for restaurants and other nontraditional spaces,” says Ellie Reimer, design director of Olive Branch Events Co. “As couples look for ways to step outside the box and create a unique experience for their guests, they are becoming more open to unconventional venues.” Hannah and Bobby’s eclectic wedding at two popular Madison locales was the perfect representation of them as a couple. “Lola’s really helped shape the entire atmosphere of the day,” Reimer says.

PICTURE PERFECT

Time moves fast. Wedding time moves even faster. So, why waste time posing for photos that can be taken on another day? In many cases, the only opportunity for a significant number of couple portraits occurs during cocktail hour. Why miss out on the hors d’oeuvres and cocktails you tasted and meticulously chose nine months ago? Enjoy the fruits of your planning labor and talk with your photographer about scheduling a separate session for bridal portraits. An added bonus is the opportunity to dress up, wear your wedding attire again, and relive the day with your partner.

MORNING WELL SPENT

The first look and first touch have emerged as new traditions in recent years, as wedding aisle reveals have taken a backseat. Each year, couples find new ways to spend more quality time together before the ceremony. Now more than ever, couples are prioritizing their partners on the morning of the wedding day. Whether it is enjoying a cup of morning coffee, forgoing a night apart, helping straighten a bow tie or zipping a gown, couples are leaning toward creating a series of personal moments before guests arrive.

FLOWER POWER

Family friends’ children, nieces and younger siblings have long been the standard choices for portraying the flower girl role on the wedding day. Children, step aside—there is a new tradition: flower grannies. For Sara and Billy’s funky wedding day, Billy’s grandmas took on the duty with unwavering confidence. “They are two of the funniest, most spirited women you’ll ever meet, which is exactly why I came up with the idea for them to be our flower grandmas,” Sara says. Grandma Ginny and Grandma Nancy, who are best friends, carried flower baskets, each with a photo of their late husbands, as a sweet surprise from the couple. “It was a small way to honor their love stories and have their husbands present with them in spirit,” Sara says. “They completely blew away any expectation of typical flower girl duties.”

FAMILY MATTERS

Foodies rejoice! Family-style dining is on the rise. As opposed to the classic buffet or plated dinner, this style sparks conversation and connection. Often able to feature more dishes, accommodate dietary preferences with ease and create a shared culinary experience, it is easy to see why familyfocused evenings have taken the spotlight. This service also supports the overall timeline of the day. “From a hospitality standpoint, it is incredibly helpful to the ease and timeliness of service,” Ashley Kuehnel, designer and owner of Midwestern Bride says. “This is especially true for larger guest counts and venues with complicated kitchen settings or tented situations, as it allows staff to move swiftly and efficiently.”

BEST EVENT DESIGN MORGAN LIDDELL EVENTS

When a venue owner gets married—you know it’s going to be exceptional. Kate, owner of St. James 1868 worked with Morgan Liddell Events to craft a wedding day that was bursting with fragrant florals, chic details and sprinkles of whimsy. Kate and Neil’s festivities began with a vibrant Indian ceremony honoring the groom’s heritage, followed by a classic American ceremony and reception. Every element of the ceremonies showcased opulent grandeur and dreamy refinement. Romantic details were at every turn and beautifully meshed with the grand architecture of the venue to portray a sense of regalness. The black-and-white dance floor complemented the black bows at each place setting, and the blackrimmed chairs. As a sweet addition, a “Paris Cafe” was designed to feature Parisian desserts and espresso martinis for guests. From the elegant flatlay to the lively party with pink uplighting, every finely curated detail harmoniously came together to produce a showstopping design.

EVERLASTING LOVE

A RALPH LAUREN-INSPIRED DESIGN AT THE HISTORIC MAXWELL MANSION

Planning & Design: Renee Breanne Design + Co. Photography: Sylvia Rose

Photography Venue: Maxwell Mansion Text: Sydney Stevens

Instead of fighting the space, we embraced it—choosing florals with movement but in deeper tones, incorporating tailored table linens and styling details that felt collected rather than trendy.

Boasting a rich history in the charming town of Lake Geneva, Maxwell Mansion stands as an iconic estate with endless stories within its walls. From Prohibition era to present day, the property has hosted generations of celebrations. Today, the distinguished mansion serves as an escape for vacationers and nearlyweds alike. With opulent rooms in the main house and revitalized horse stables converted into guest quarters behind the courtyard, it is a paradisiacal retreat for those who wish to revel in the rich history while creating their own memories to contribute to the Maxwell Mansion legacy.

With a vintage equestrian, Ralph Lauren-inspired vision, Renee Tantillo, owner and creative director of Renee Breanne Design + Co. drew from the venue’s character, architectural details and wood tones to craft a wedding design radiating old-world sophistication. Setting the tone for the overall atmosphere, Debbie Pape, owner of Paper Envy, captured the venue’s beautiful composition. White ink on dark cardstock, paired with minimal and modern style fonts, made a bold statement. Patterns and shapes added depth and reinforced the equestrian aesthetic while a handdyed silk ribbon offered a delicate touch. “Every piece is intentionally thought about and designed to make the most impact,” Pape says. The stationery theme carried throughout the design, from the signage, menus and place cards to the cocktail napkins, stirrers and matchbooks.

Moved by the heritage of Maxwell Mansion, Hattie Roepcke, owner and lead designer of Twin Blooms Floral Co. layered billowing hydrangeas with spirals of calla lilies to frame the fireplace to create an intimate ceremony vignette. The beautiful blend of sepia-toned hydrangeas paired with artistic lilies perfectly captured the theme of lived-in elegance mixed with contemporary charm.

“I wanted the hydrangeas to feel old and antiqued, with the calla lilies acting as the resilient flower sprouting out from the hydrangeas,” Roepcke says. “The curling and knotting techniques for the calla lilies was a way to lift the designs into a modern space.”

Polished style brought the narrative of enduring luxury to life.

A structured gown from Miss Ruby Bridal paid homage to the Ralph Lauren vision, featuring a Basque waist and draped empire bodice. The finishing touch? A chic purse-style bouquet of calla lilies. Menswear echoed the timeless nature of the theme; a classic tux from DuBois Formalwear embellished with a vintage brooch and horse cufflinks fortified the collected feel of the space.

It’s architectural detailing, rich wood tones and intimate, manor-like feel encouraged us to lean into depth and texture rather than bright or overly airy styling.

Renee Tantillo, Renee Breanne Design + Co.

Cocktails and caviar, anyone? As a toast to newlywed bliss, celebratory caviar and oysters on ice from Third Coast Provisions elevated the evening’s sense of indulgence in the Cognac Room. The space’s red velvet booth hints at the hidden speakeasy below, which still requires a password for entry.

Just few steps away, cocktails in the Apothecary Bar await. As a tribute to the original owner, Dr. Philip Maxwell, the 1800s bar features libations handcrafted by talented mixologists. The signature cocktails du jour were pisco sours and, of course, infamous Wisconsin old fashioneds.

As a planner and designer, I’m always thinking about the guest experience, even in an editorial setting. This wasn’t just visually beautiful—it told a story of a couple hosting an intimate, elevated celebration that felt personal, warm and undeniably classic.

— Renee Tantillo, Renee Breanne Design + Co.

A masterclass of moody refinement, textural layering and intentional luxury, the ballroom reception was a feast for the senses. Tall candelabras and organic floral arrangements anchored the tables, yielding a bold design. Dazzling chandeliers cast an ambient glow over the meticulously curated tableaus. “Tailored linens paired with vintage silver flatware, romantic candlelight and florals that felt lush but not overly abundant,” Tantillo says. “It created depth without feeling busy.” Mini, garden-style and mono-botanical arrangements adorned the tables, while pedestals of blooms at the center highlighted the reception’s unique layout.

The art of cohesion extended to the secondary fashion looks. A strapless fit-and-flare Rita Vinieris gown in airy, beaded lace, cinched with a taffeta cummerbund sculpted into a cascading bow, perfectly complemented the floralforward reception. The textured linens and abundant blooms inspired the menswear: a dusty rose velvet coat accented with a floral-patterned pocket square, adding an effortless touch of je ne sais quoi.

The concept offered an immersive experience, with intentional design details around every corner of the legacy-filled mansion. “We weren’t just designing something pretty—we were building a world inspired by heritage, craftsmanship and enduring style,” Tantillo says.

“The goal was to show how a wedding can feel deeply rooted in tradition while still feeling fresh and relevant.”

JENNY & JOSEPH

Date: AUGUST 7, 2025

Having documented many milestones themselves, wedding day photo and video team Jenny and Joseph Gale infused their celebration with professional attention to detail. A plethora of lush, eye-catching white florals decorated their dreamy outdoor ceremony at Villa Terrace Museum & Gardens, creating a scene of timeless romance. Knowing firsthand how important it is to artfully document each moment of their special day, the couple carved out time for photo ops throughout their lively celebration, including a playful champagne tower toast with their bridal party.

CAROLINE & AMY

Married & Celebrated: OVERTURE CENTER FOR THE ARTS, MADISON

Date: AUGUST 9, 2025

Following a 19-month whirlwind romance, Caroline Robbins and Amy DeJong helped design their own engagement rings, and they each proposed at separate meaningful locations for two completely unique experiences. Given the singularity of their engagement(s), they aimed to ensure their wedding day did not feel like it was “picked out of catalog,” but rather a one-of-a-kind event tailored specifically to their love and life together. Bathed in natural light within Overture Center for the Arts, the couple's wedding unfolded with bursts of bold hues and personalized details. A showstopping floating chuppah composed of winding ivy and a vibrant array of florals sat at the center of the ceremony space. Following the tradition set at the respective weddings of Caroline’s siblings, a lace tablecloth, which had been gifted to their family by their late nanny, was used as the “roof” of the lush chuppah. Their dog, Willie Nelson, served as honorary ring bearer, and following the heartfelt vow exchange, a playful cocktail hour ensued. Guests enjoyed a round of mini golf, with themed holes celebrating the pair’s love for Chicago, D.C., and Madison, sipped on gazpacho out of glass beakers—an ode to Amy’s career as a scientist—and read the newlyweds' love notes on custom cocktail napkins. A handwritten letter awaited each person in attendance, guiding them to the airy reception. Soft blue linens and sunset-hued floral centerpieces were grounded by wooden details while the glow of multicolored candles flickered throughout the space. Amy and Caroline's modern celebration was an affair full of love, laughter and pure happiness, with the pair stating, "We had a wedding beyond our wildest dreams." — Ryley S. Hoff

GRACE & LUCAS

Married & Celebrated: BIG CEDAR LAKE YACHT CLUB, HARTFORD

Date: AUGUST 16, 2025

On a warm August afternoon, guests gathered along the shore of Big Cedar Lake, a setting that had quietly framed this love story for years. Grace Grunau and Lucas Mortensen met at Milwaukee rowing club in high school, spending summers on the water and bonding over long days of skiing and sunset boat rides. With her family home being on the lake, returning to exchange vows there felt like a homecoming. The ballroom ceremony unfolded inside a sweeping floral arch brimming with blush and ivory roses, softened by airy greenery and backdropped by bay-view windows overlooking the lake. Soft blue details carried throughout the design—tailored linens, custom architectural backdrops and thoughtful paper goods—offering a crisp counterpoint to the romantic blooms. The dreamy palette was a nod to the lake itself, pulling its gentle hues into a polished, tented celebration that felt equal parts elevated and familiar. Dinner and dancing followed beneath a structured crystalline tent, where creamy florals and candlelight warmed the space. The design transformed the venue into a refined lakeside retreat while still honoring the couple’s shared history on the water. For the newlyweds, the most meaningful moments were the simplest: standing at the altar in a place layered with childhood memories and looking out at a crowd of their nearest and dearest. The day was an idyllic celebration and a full-circle return to where it all began. — Megan Simpson Teeter

SARA & BILLY

Married & Celebrated: CAMP KETTLEWOOD, EAST

TROY

Date: AUGUST 22, 2025

Understated but undeniably bold, Sara Soltis and Billy Andres’ wedding day was one to remember on the grounds of Camp Kettlewood. Having rented out the property for the weekend, the happy couple invited their closest friends and family to celebrate their love with a distinctive retro flair. “Camp Andres” embraced an end-of-summer, funky color palette, with the bridesmaids dressed in burgundy, goldenrod or chartreuse gowns, while the groomsmen donned beige-hued suits. Guests gathered under the steamy blue sky amid the lush Midwestern campgrounds to bear witness to the pair’s sweet vow exchange. Sara floated down the aisle in an elegant, vintage-inspired ensemble to meet Billy at an altar composed of rustic wood garnished with bursts of contemporary florals in the shades du jour. After the pair became husband and wife, attendees were escorted via golf carts to a spirited reception under the pavilion. Drinks awaited guests in ice-filled canoes as mismatched vintage tableware set a warm and eclectic tone for the evening. Refined centerpieces featuring anthurium, orchids, free spirit roses and amaranthus were balanced with playful camp flags that served as table numbers. Beneath a spinning disco ball and the warm glow of bulbed string lights, Sara and Billy reveled in their newlywed status, punctuating the evening with the comfort of s’mores beside the campfire. TESS & TOMMY

Married: HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, SHEBOYGAN

Celebrated:

THE AMERICAN CLUB, KOHLER

Date: SEPTEMBER 13, 2025

Enchanting and timeless, Tess Goris and Tommy Hoy’s early-autumn wedding leaned into soft pinks and opulent neutrals. The high school sweethearts celebrated their engagement at a serene lake in Wisconsin following a cinematic proposal during which the groom recruited a plane to fly a banner across the sky asking the bride to marry him. On their wedding day, elevated Midwest charm exuded from every special moment as they embraced the stately warmth of The American Club. The day prior to the ceremony, Tess’ bridal party enjoyed a luxurious spa day and luncheon in the lush gardens of the venue, while Tommy and his groomsmen enjoyed a day of salmon fishing on Lake Michigan. A rehearsal dinner at Whistling Straits captured the rustic vibe of a Wisconsin supper club, complete with cocktails served from the bed of a vintage Ford pickup truck. Following a traditional Catholic ceremony, The American Club hosted a lavish reception that let the couple’s love take center stage under a heavenly canopy of chandeliers and abundant florals. A candlelit dinner and dance floor created a refined atmosphere, while the fun-loving couple kept things stylishly playful: love letters written from Tommy to Tess decorated cocktail napkins and personalized Budweiser beer bottles honored the groom’s signature drink. — Diane Meyer

MONICA & MATT

Married & Celebrated: PRIVATE RESIDENCE, SUN PRAIRIE

Date: SEPTEMBER 27, 2025

Monica and Matt Mielcarek know how to throw a party, and their three-day celebration highlighted their love of family and hometown pride. Festivities began Friday evening with a black, white and denim-themed welcome party, where guests gathered around a lineup of beloved local food trucks. A live band played as llamas and a donkey from a live petting zoo wandered nearby while guests danced amongst tables dressed in crisp linens and red roses. The couple made their entrance wearing bold red, and when “Jump Around” blasted through the speakers, the bride surprised the groom with a special guest: Bucky Badger himself. Saturday’s ceremony took place on Matt’s family property, in the backyard of the home where he grew up. Loved ones arrived by shuttle and valet before taking their seats along a curved aisle lined with calla lilies, hydrangeas and other airy white blooms. A violin crooned as the wedding party processed, culminating in Monica’s entrance on her father’s arm. She wore the first of three breathtaking gowns—an A-line silhouette paired with a sweetheart neckline under delicate, sheer lace. After the vows, the curtains behind the altar opened to reveal the cocktail hour, where a seafood tower ice sculpture and a wide selection of hors d’oeuvres awaited. The reception blended elegance with playful touches: a dramatic crystal chandelier above the wraparound bar, a choreographed first dance beneath twinkling lights and a bourbon-and-cigar lounge with college football on TV. — Megan Simpson Teeter

MARCELIA & RENWICK

Married: CALVARY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, MILWAUKEE

Celebrated: THE WISCONSIN CLUB, MILWAUKEE

Date: OCTOBER 4, 2025

Marcelia Nicholson and Renwick Bovell’s wedding brought 250 guests together for an elegant celebration of love. The pair were introduced by the mayor of St. Louis, connecting them through public service positions in different states. Their love grew from shared devotion to God and deeply held values. After a year of long-distance dating, a starlit proposal stunned the bride-to-be under a full moon in Punta Cana. True romantics, Marcelia and Renwick wanted a thoughtfully styled wedding fit for a king and queen. A faith-centered ceremony in the stunning Victorian Gothic Revival-style church was subtly accented by cello covers of the couple’s favorite love songs. A live saxophonist stylishly ushered guests into a regal cocktail hour at The Wisconsin Club. In a playful nod to the Bovell name, bows adorned the luxuriously lit reception and decorated a towering champagne pour. A classic color palette held deep meaning for the bride and groom: gold and white honored their enduring commitment, black represented Renwick’s steady and serious strength, and abundant sparkle shone like Marcelia’s personality. The couple honored cultural traditions with music influenced by their Puerto Rican and Guyanese heritages, and in a sweet personal touch, the bride carried a jeweled bouquet that included brooches from her grandmother’s collection. A T-shirt toss and glowstick giveaway kept the stately dinner lively, and lasting memories were captured by a 360-photo booth and guest photographer. — Diane Meyer

CLARE & TOM

Celebrated: ALPINE RESORT, EGG HARBOR

Date: SEPTEMBER 19, 2025

On the day of Clare Niswonger’s parents’ anniversary, she got to marry the love of her life, Tom Enright. Although the pair met in high school, a dating app reconnected them after college, and it seemed their lingering crushes for each other never went away. A dreamy Pacific Northwest proposal at the San Juan Islands in Washington sealed the deal and paved the way to their breathtaking wedding day. Wanting their loved ones to experience one of their favorite places, Clare and Tom decided to host their matrimony in Door County. With a history of family vacations and exploring the peninsula together, it was clear this was where they needed to start the next chapter of their lives. Bridesmaids donned a variety of rich hues and patterns to adhere to the early autumn color palette, while Clare opted for a romantic gown with floral appliqué. Paying homage to the iconic Door County cherry tree, cherry motifs were elegantly woven into the décor. Loved ones sipped on Door County cherry old fashioneds and drinks from a chic beer boat. The whimsy carried into the tented reception, where flourishing blooms adorned every corner. Layered linens and rattan lighting added texture to the design and played into the lakeside atmosphere. To make the day even more special, newlyweds stopped at the family vacation home overlooking Kangaroo Lake for photos. As a sweet ending to the gorgeous day, guests gathered at the outdoor ice cream parlor. — Sydney Stevens

HANNAH & HENRY

Married: BLESSED SACRAMENTS CHURCH, MADISON

Celebrated: THE EDGEWATER HOTEL, MADISON

Date: SEPTEMBER 13, 2025

Bathed by sun and shimmering lakefront views, Hannah Johnson and Henry Houden’s black-tie wedding celebrated their Midwestern roots. Though the pair both grew up in the Madison area, attending neighboring high schools and moving in shared circles, they didn’t officially meet until winter break of their freshman year in college. Despite the distance—Henry at University of Wisconsin–Madison and Hannah at Miami University in Ohio—their connection deepened over time, blossoming into a love that would carry them to a beautiful life together in Chicago. A radiant wedding celebrated their shared beginning and bright future. Following a timeless Catholic ceremony at Blessed Sacraments Church, a trolley brought the wedding party to the Wisconsin State Capitol to capture a classic Madison photo op. Transitioning seamlessly into a romantic reception, The Edgewater Hotel’s terrace hosted a cocktail hour for guests while the couple had a private sneak peek of the hotel’s exquisite ballroom, fully draped to create a clean, elevated canvas for a refined palette of black, white and soft ivory. Delicate calla lilies anchored the floral design with fresh pops of gentle green, balancing organic touches with geometric intentionality. The couple’s monogram, two interlaced H’s, decorated stationery, cocktail napkins and commemorative matchboxes. Hannah and Henry balanced moments celebrating family with time meant just for them, weaving their first dances throughout dinner. During sunset, newlyweds stepped outside to enjoy a moment of respite and take portraits together before rejoining their guests to dance the night away. — Diane Meyer

CLAIRE & KEVIN

Married & Celebrated: THE RIVIERA BALLROOM, LAKE GENEVA

Date: SEPTEMBER 6, 2025

When the couple met in early 2020, Kevin Falls’ sweet and reserved personality complemented Claire Castaneda’s extroversion so perfectly that, after just two weeks of dating, they moved in together. Playing up their love of hosting, dancing and bringing loved ones together, their goal for their wedding day at The Riviera Ballroom in Lake Geneva was to throw an unforgettable party that felt “intentional, immersive and undeniably them.” Leaning into the grand aesthetic of the ballroom, a saturated palette of burgundy, fuchsia, amber and peach infused the space with bold elegance, while a rich and unique combination of hydrangeas, dyed amaranthus, orchids and roses provided a distinctly modern feel to the event. Each burgundy-clad bridesmaid carried a mono-bouquet, while Claire carried a combination of the florals down the aisle in a texturally rich and sculptural arrangement that echoed those at the altar. After exchanging vows, the newlyweds kept the energy high by moving the party to the water for a lively sunset cocktail hour aboard the Grand Belle. Meanwhile, the ballroom was transformed to accommodate an evening of celebration, with tables adorned in eclectic combinations of sage green linens and artful floral centerpieces. Table lamps scattered throughout the room created an intimate dinner atmosphere, while the dueling pianos and large dance floor allowed friends and family to truly let loose. Centering their wedding day on the experience of their loved ones while embracing their love of vibrancy, Claire and Kevin’s wedding day felt effortless in its reflection of their playful and unapologetic love. — Ryley S. NICKY & COLIN

Married: BASILICA OF SAINT JOSAPHAT, MILWAUKEE

Celebrated: PRITZLAFF EVENTS, MILWAUKEE

Date: NOVEMBER 22, 2025

Nicky Young and Colin Brancato’s wedding was never going to be a generic ballroom affair. The two self-proclaimed perfectionists wanted to approach the day with care. Their story began at University of Wisconsin–Madison. After years of running into each other through mutual friends, the stars aligned on a spontaneous night out, during which their reconnection grew romantic. On their wedding day, the history of their love story was on full display throughout the Pritzlaff. A custom toile design was woven into the linens, photo booth and matchbooks featuring illustrations of the couple's hobbies and interests. To kick off the weekend festivities and warmly welcome the out-of-state guests, the pair curated welcome bags with meaningful items connected to them or their families. From Spotted Cow and local cheeses to Sam Adams and Marsha’s Homemade Buckeyes, each element immersed loved ones into the world of Nicky and Colin. Drawing inspiration from Nicky’s favorite interior designers, the planner crafted a warm and bespoke atmosphere inside the venue. Florals moved through creamy whites, soft blush and deep burgundy with each tablescape tailored to its own linen. Between wedding party photos and cocktail hour, newlyweds slipped away to enjoy cocktails and oysters at St. Paul’s Tiki Bar. “It was the perfect reset before the reception, and such a good reminder that the day moves incredibly fast,” Megan Russell, wedding planner said. Their night ended with Wisconsin flair; the venue’s vault became a dessert room stocked with custard from the iconic Kopp’s Frozen Custard, brats and cheese curds hit the dance floor until midnight, and guests went home with favors of local old fashioned-flavored chocolates. — Rylee Woodward

MADISON & CARLO

Married & Celebrated: BELLE AME VINEYARD, RIVER FALLS

Date: JUNE 28, 2025

Ten years before their wedding, Madison Kuhlmann and Carlo Pauldine first crossed paths as freshmen at, of all places, University of Wisconsin–Madison. They shared the same friend group throughout college and beyond graduation. What began as a teenage friendship eventually shifted into something more. After years of shared adventures—traveling, cooking and gathering friends around the table—the pair settled in Minnesota, where Madi grew up. When it came time to plan their celebration, the couple looked to one of their favorite shared passions: traveling through Europe. Belle Ame Vineyard in River Falls, with its rolling landscape and rustic architecture, reminded them of drives through the Italian countryside and offered the perfect backdrop for an outdoor summer gathering. The ceremony came to life in the vineyard’s open field, where a curved aisle framed with herbs and florals led to a wooden platform built by the father of the bride. The groom's father officiated, adding a personal touch to the vows. Cocktail hour followed beneath the pavilion, where a lively performance from a band that specializes in “Hot Club Swing,” a style near and dear to the newlyweds. Dinner unfolded in the courtyard patio with a coursed, family-style meal of Italian fare—such as caprese, pizza and pasta—served at a winding arrangement of head tables. Before the evening transitioned indoors for dancing, guests were treated to cake and limoncello poured tableside, a fitting nod to Carlo’s Italian heritage and the couple’s love of hosting memorable meals. — Megan Simpson Teeter

LAUREN & AUSTIN

Celebrated: NORTHERN HAUS, SISTER

Date: OCTOBER 10, 2025

A place close to their hearts, Door County provided a gorgeous autumnal backdrop for Lauren Paulson and Austin Edge’s wedding day. After Austin spotted Lauren in the stands at a summer baseball game, he knew it was game over. The dreamy destination has played host to many memories, from Lauren serving soft serve at Wilson's Restaurant & Ice Cream Parlor to their countless vacations together and, eventually, a picturesque engagement at Sunset Beach. After a heartfelt ceremony at Stella Maris Catholic Church, guests gathered for a chic cocktail hour at Northern Haus, where they indulged in live music, passed hors d'oeuvres, idyllic landscapes and, of course, Spotted Cow. Enamored with the elegance of the venue, the couple wove their personal touches throughout the design, making for an unforgettable celebration. An “in loving memory” table honored those who were there in spirit. To lean into the fall theme, warm hues and earth tones were fused throughout the design with an abundance of lush blooms, patterned linens and timeless décor. Sentimental speeches and an array of flickering candles created a cozy ambiance. Dancing on the custom dance floor, late-night snacks of tacos, burgers and fries, as well as donuts and milk and signature cocktails, kept the festivities going. As a cinematic ending to their picture-perfect day, radiant marquee letters reading “Mr. & Mrs.” illuminated the outdoors and reminded everyone of Lauren and Austin’s first night as husband and wife. — Sydney Stevens
