IN THE MOOD

“Fritillaria are a family of spring flowering bulbs that range from the delicate and graceful meleagris [and the] movement-rich uva-vulpis to the dramatic and bold persica varieties,” explains Winquist. The venue’s established garden, greenhouses and numerous outbuildings offered bountiful choices for seeking natural light and earthy beauty for this design to take place, but it was the nursery’s new space, The Vinery, with its reclaimed wood and interesting textures, that ultimately served as the setting. The simple yet sophisticated ceremony area was adorned with organic arrangements, an asymmetrically decorated arch and modest seating. A moody palette of soft yellow, mauve, lilac, burgundy and deep purple was carried through to the intimate reception table, which featured striking black place settings, matte gold accents and blush linens. Other beautiful details included the escort-card display floating in greenery, an impeccable stationery suite and a delicate two-tier cake with a floral finish.
