“LOVE ACTUALLY IS ALL AROUND”

—“Love

Actually”

I was on a plane traveling for this issue’s photo shoots when I thought of the opening scene from one of my favorite movies, “Love Actually.” The touching footage of friends and loved ones greeting each other at London Heathrow airport, with Hugh Grant concluding that love is everywhere you turn. It made me think of weddings and that, no matter what, our little corner of the world remains full of love. When the candles have been blown out, the bouquet has been tossed and the cake has been eaten ... love is what remains. That is constant and true—and carries our couples for the rest of their lives.

As we celebrate our Best of 2025, I see love bursting and abuzz in the Oregon Wedding Day community. Between voting online, celebrating each other’s nominations and ultimately sharing hugs and toasting talent at our gala in June, love for what you do, who you do it with and who you do it for is as clear as day. It’s a beautiful thing.

This issue was a blast to put together! Through an online voting process, we arrived at our “Best of” nominees and winners. Turn to page 36 for the full list. (Couples: It’s also an incredible resource for planning your wedding!).

We were thrilled to head to Bend for a whimsical wedding design led by Ponderosa Planning that left us breathless (page 46). In true Oregon form, we were greeted with snow, awakened the next day with rain and lucked out with peeks of sun throughout our photo shoot. The architectural florals from Summer Robbins Flowers are a complete treasure! Next, we explore the endless opportunities Sunriver Resort gives couples for a complete wedding weekend (page 54).

Venture page by page and discover intimate, holiday-inspired I dos (page 19), hydrating beauty essentials (page 30), fashion musts in the season’s hottest color (page 32), stunning real weddings (page 79) and so much more.

I hope as you take in every bit of this issue—from the love we pour into creating it to the love professed between our couples—you are reminded that love is all around.

Cheers, love birds, and let love surround you on your journey to wedded bliss!

WORTH CELEBRATING

As the sun shines on another wedding season that we know will give way to turning leaves, we’re thrilled to share our latest issue highlighting the Best of 2025—an annual celebration of the very best that Oregon’s wedding industry has to offer. This edition is more than a list of winners and finalists; it’s a heartfelt tribute to the creativity, dedication and passion that define our vibrant community of professionals (page 36)

From breathtaking venues to visionary planners, florists who bring dreams to life and photographers who capture moments that last forever—each honoree featured here was selected by real couples and trusted peers. Their work inspires, elevates and reminds us that love, in all its forms, is worth celebrating beautifully.

To our readers planning their own unforgettable day, we hope these pages offer not just guidance, but also inspiration. And to the talented vendors who make Oregon a truly magical place to say “I do”: thank you. This issue is for you.

With admiration and gratitude,

Alexis Sanabria alexis@irondiamondmedia.com @alexis_irondiamond

RELEASE PARTY

For Spring/Summer 2025 Issue

The Oregon wedding community gathered at The Arc Light for Oregon Wedding Day ’s Pizza & Prosecco party to celebrate the release of the Spring/Summer ’25 issue.

Velvet linens, décor and rentals brought by Power of Love Rentals were effortlessly complemented by florals from Trellis Floral. Guests indulged in food, drinks and desserts from The Arc Light’s Hive Catering Co. Enhancing the classy atmosphere, guests were entertained by Lit Productions, which offered music and a photo booth to document the evening. Signage throughout the event was beautifully crafted by Letters & Dust.

During the event, Oregon Wedding Day Publisher Alexis Sanabria, Editor-in-Chief Chelsea Gibson and Owner and CEO Sonja Babich took a moment to thank wedding professionals, recognize sponsors and share about the new magazine. Thank you to everyone who attended and to our incredible sponsors for contributing their talents!

MARRY & BRIGHT

Bringing together the old-world elegance of Europe and the rustic, organic charm of winter, Kara Cederberg, owner of KC Experiential House, and a team of top-notch vendors crafted a design that expertly reflected the romance and warmth of the festive season. On a cloudy December day, soft natural light beamed through the glass walls of Seventh Stem’s private greenhouse and onto arrangements of forest green, burgundy and blush hues, woven together to create a seamless table runner that waterfalled onto the floor. Vintage dishware and mismatched candlestick holders made the space feel cozy and lived in, a stunning contrast to the delicate and sophisticated glassware. The intimate table design featured a gorgeous white and burgundy tablecloth and complementing pomegranates— symbolic of life, prosperity and good fortune in many cultures. Embracing the cold weather in fur and wool ensembles, the real-life couple epitomized timeless glamour. Overall, the aesthetic embodied Cederberg’s vision of “cultivated beauty and effortless refinement, where the holiday romance unfolds through lush greenery, candlelit gatherings and heirloom details.”

GONE COUNTRY

From fashion to design and home décor, Western is trending in a big way—and was the very vision for Andrea Lilly of House of Lilly Events when planning and executing a beautiful editorial at The White Barn Estate in La Grande. In addition to popular icons like Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash and John Denver, Lilly took cues from someone close to her heart: “The inspiration came from my fashionable grandmother, who was a cowgirl and loved her bright red lipstick, her cowgirl hats and large belt buckles,” she says. And while Western can sometimes feel kitschy or overdone, Lilly sought to bring an elevated aesthetic to the scheme. “This photoshoot was designed to be as vibrant and colorful as possible, showcasing that a Western-inspired wedding can be elegant and dynamic without the need for traditional elements like burlap or pampas grass,” she notes.

“While these items can certainly add charm to certain designs, the intent was to demonstrate that a Western, cowgirl/cowboy themed wedding can be equally stunning and distinctive with alternative décor choices.” —Chelsea Gibson

Founded by Sara and Joseph Schapiro in 1913, WEDDING GOWN PRESERVATION CO. (@weddinggownpreservation) is a family-run business based in Endicott, New York, that has been restoring and preserving wedding gowns for brides for more than 100 years. Using a combination of experience and today’s latest technologies, fourth-generation members of the Schapiro family thoroughly clean and preserve each wedding gown to prevent yellowing and discoloration; spot removal is also part of the process, with special attention paid to the neckline, trim and hemline. Staff will also perform any necessary repairs, from fixing tears to replacing buttons, before shaping and placing the gown in an acid-neutral, ligninfree box to ship back to you. The icing on the cake: You can personalize the box with text or photos in commemoration of your special day. —Chelsea Gibson

TASTE OF FALL

There is nothing quite like fall in the Pacific Northwest. The crisp air, the festive feeling and, of course, the colors. Wanting to capture that very essence, Renee Walker of Beaneth the Pines created an amazing scene for love to flourish. The design was inspired by the color palette of an Oregon autumn, including deep, rich tones represented in the florals, drinks and makeup, which then contrasted with the warm wood of The Inn at Diamond Woods. The reallife couple met when Clarae was reading for a role in an indie movie, and Ollie was already cast as the lead. They started filming two years later in October 2023. Clarae notes that this time of year is so special to them as a couple, “You know that song ‘We Fell in Love in October?’ That’s why I love fall. That is literally us.”

In the sweeping tablescape, a floral tree stood as the main focal point with the iconic A-frame serving as the backdrop. “This is a design that we haven’t seen before but still plays into the trend of unique floral installations,” Gloria Rice, founder of High Desert Florals notes of her creation. “The structure was to mimic a tree, its branches hanging over the tablescape. The design included not only a light contrast of tones but also preserved maple leaves in alignment with the fall theme.” —Chelsea Gibson

NATALIE & PETER by ACTUALLY ASHLEY EVENTS (@actuallyashleyevents)

As sunshine cast a glow through the grand aspens at Black Butte Ranch, Natalie and Peter exchanged vows at the end of an aisle freely lined with white roses. Natalie was a timeless beauty in her high-neck, open-back column gown, fitted with a stunning overskirt and puff sleeves. Her groom was dashing in his off-white suit jacket and black bow tie. Black bridesmaid dresses were the ideal contrast to gorgeous bouquets of delicate ivory orchids and calla lilies—elegant additions to the centerpieces that lined the serene tablescape. The bride made two spectacular outfit changes that elevated the atmosphere of the celebration, first by transforming her gown from romantic to chic by removing the puffed sleeves. After finishing the formalities, Natalie kickstarted the party in the second look with her grandmother’s pearls and mother’s altered wedding gown, reshaped into a fun reception dress fit for a night of dancing.

NATURAL BEAUTY AND DECADENT DETAILS ARE UNMATCHED IN AN ENCHANTING EDITORIAL AT JUNIPER PRESERVE IN BEND

Design & Planning: Ponderosa Planning

Florals: Summer Robbins Flowers

Photography: Simple Joie

Text: Chelsea Gibson

Venue: Juniper Preserve

Juniper Preserve lies tucked in a juniper forest with expansive views of the Cascade Mountains, luxurious amenities and elevated experiences—where no detail is overlooked, every crevice is photogenic and exquisite service reigns. And for a wedding, it is that and beyond. Juniper Preserve offers a stunning array of indoor and outdoor venues, endless entertainment for guests and so much more to make hosting your nearest and dearest memorable and effortless. Perhaps the coolest part of the property is its ancient lava cave, a one-of-a-kind backdrop to exchange vows, which served as the inspiration for a lovely design by Ponderosa Planning.

A demure color palette of white, cream, light pink, green and soft blue played with the natural surroundings, and outstanding floral installations from Summer Robbins Flowers stole the show. “Summer Robbins was the perfect fit to bring epic architectural beauty to this editorial shoot,” says the Ponderosa Planning team. “The 'partners in glam' Kate Hana Artistry and The Garrison Collective always bring a positive presence. All the vendors involved in this shoot are experts in their field and meet our high standards for our couples, so by focusing on logistics and big picture design, we give them space to shine!"

Inspired by Juniper Preserve’s NATURAL cave, we designed this shoot to lean into Central Oregon's natural tones and TEXTURES . – Ponderosa Planning

We wanted to showcase how to reinvent SOFT neutrals with dreamy florals, soft linens and subtle textures that bring DECADENCE and elegance to a rugged backdrop.

An intimate reception table was light and airy, juxtaposing against the dark rock of the cave. Light blue stoneware, soft blush linens and wild florals made this a gorgeous spot to gather.

A textural masterpiece from Crumb Cakery sat among bursting branches and emulated the stone façade in the background.

MARRIAGE MECCA

FROM GRAND VENUES TO STANDOUT GUEST EXPERIENCES AND CENTRAL OREGON BEAUTY, SUNRIVER RESORT HAS IT ALL FOR THE WEDDING OF YOUR DREAMS

Design & Planning: The Indigo Bride Photography: Paulina Perrucci Text: Chelsea Gibson Venue: Sunriver Resort

Unfolding across 3,300 forested acres just moments from Bend, Oregon, sits Sunriver Resort—where the splendor of the mountains, forest and high desert intersect. The Pacific Northwest’s treasured all-season wilderness retreat (with 300 days of sunshine each year) serves up an intoxicating combination of relaxation, rejuvenation and adventure for couples and their guests to enjoy. Cozy rooms,

a luxurious spa, award-winning golf, outdoor adventures, delectable dining and more than 15 indoor and outdoor venue options make it the perfect spot to host wedding festivities. “From customizing the menu and reserving spa services to setting the event timeline and planning resort activities, the Sunriver Resort team ensures every detail of your event is executed to perfection,” the resort promises.

Taylor and Joey’s wedding weekend beautifully showcased the endless possibilities Sunriver Resort offers couples and their guests. Planned and executed by The Indigo Bride, the multi-day celebration included a festive welcome party and intimate rehearsal dinner (pages 58-59), in addition to the wedding day. The sprawling ceremony transpired on the rightfully popular Mt. Bachelor lawn amid expansive views and foliage. White fluffy blooms and greenery framed the space, creating a classic aesthetic with an air of whimsy.

After capturing stunning photo ops and imbibing at a chic cocktail hour just up the stairs from the lawn, guests moved into the

Great Hall for an elegant reception. The cabin-chic space features hand-peeled timber, high-beam ceilings, two floors of space and massive river-rock fireplaces. The newlyweds extended the same green and white palette and floral design to their reception, plus a little something special on the tabletop, à la Glassybaby candles. The Great Hall is an impressive indoor space to pair with an outdoor ceremony, or to host the entire day.

To kick off the festivities the day prior, Taylor and Joey’s rehearsal dinner was held in the Hearth Room at the Lodge Kitchen. Planned by the groom’s mother, the intimate dinner was inspired by their favorite restaurant in New York, The Commerce Inn. The centerpieces were lively and bountiful, bursting with fresh tomatoes and flora to complement the cozy interior design. After, the celebration continued outdoors for a summer evening welcome party complete with fresh cocktails, tacos and mingling.

From start to finish, and everything in between, Sunriver Resort is an iconic venue, accommodating the most intimate to the most extravagant parties with your nearest and dearest, without having to step foot off the property.

REAL WEDDINGS

JESSICA & JEREMY

Married & Celebrated: THE LOFT AT 8TH AVENUE, PORTLAND

Date: AUGUST 10, 2024

Jessica Mensah and Jeremy Da Rosa wanted their wedding to be an outward reflection of who they are both individually and as a couple. They met in Portland, so they knew they wanted to get married in the City of Roses and show their family and friends the beauty of summertime in the Pacific Northwest. The theme “City Meets Nature” emerged for their wedding weekend, starting with a traditional Ghanaian celebration where guests were encouraged to wear African attire or clothing that honored their own cultures. For their wedding day, a sophisticated palette of black, sage green, forest green, gold, champagne and stone created a garden oasis in the middle of the city. The décor included ferns, towering bamboo and Ficus trees, disco balls and lounge seating. The couple was involved in every detail of their wedding, including the custom stationery elements, hotel welcome bags and beyond—giving everything a highly personal touch. Jessica recalls: “Beyond our stated wedding theme, love was the other, and we felt so much love around us across the entire weekend. We would give the same advice we got: stay as present as possible and don’t sweat the small stuff.” —Chelsea Gibson

WHITNEY & MITCHELL

Married & Celebrated: WAVERLEY COUNTRY CLUB, PORTLAND

Date: JUNE 22, 2024

Whitney and Mitchell enjoy boating on the Willamette River in the summer months, so they knew that Waverley Country Club would be a perfect spot for their dream wedding amid blue skies, 360-degree views and boats cruising the river in the background. Their celebration was full of thoughtful details and touches from start to finish. Throughout their relationship, Mitchell has always surprised Whitney with flowers. To recall a similar feeling, Mitchell handed Whitney her bouquet during their first look on their wedding day—a sentimental, sweet moment. The groom even had a “first look” with his mom and sisters. Whitney described her floral vision as “wildflowers that met elegance,” which bounded in bright colors and textures against the verdure of the property. Wildflowers continued to a stunning cake meadow holding a classic all-white confection from Papa Haydn, a place the family would always buy special occasion cakes. When it came to the reception, the couple sought to create an unforgettable alfresco dining moment for their guests that captured the slow, easy pace of summer when you’re surrounded by loved ones with nowhere else to be. Looking back on the day, Whitney wouldn’t change a thing: “There really is no moment like walking down the aisle to marry the love of your life,” she says. “Let yourself truly be all in at that moment! You will realize nothing in the world matters other than all the love between the two of you and the support of your friends and family for your lifetime together. We would redo this day, in the same way, in a heartbeat.” —Chelsea Gibson

LINDSEY & BRIAN

Married & Celebrated: THE EVERGREEN, PORTLAND

Date: SEPTEMBER 13, 2024

Just across the river from downtown Portland, Lindsey Wilson and Brian Ki tied the knot at The Evergreen. The groom had tears in his eyes as his bride joined him at the altar, which was adorned with a wide variety of potted plants—the mismatched greenery providing an organic feel against the ceremony space. Sunlight reflected off the shimmering champagne-colored bridesmaid dresses and beamed through the windows on either side of the couple as they said their vows. The unique reception design was largely centered on cultivating a memorable guest experience with a delicious donut bar, creative drink displays and a lineup of hourly surprise signature cocktails—each drink inspired by a special memory in their love story. Guests were invited to “Take a hike” to their seats with a themed seating chart that featured silhouettes of mountain ranges against a chic sage-green backdrop. Foregoing traditional numbers, tables were named after a few of the bride and groom’s favorite hiking spots. Tablescapes were simple and refined, with blush pink napkins to contrast the beautiful greenery and candlelight that flowed down the length of the tables. Following their dance to “Motion” by Emotional Oranges, the first concert the couple attended together, colorful glasses were passed around to ramp up the party atmosphere, transforming their day of love and celebration into an incredibly electric night that is sure to be remembered forever. Reflecting on their personalityfilled event, Lindsey shares, “Every part of the celebration felt intentional and full of heart, and getting to share those moments with all our friends and family made it truly unforgettable.” —Kaitlyn Meehan

MICHAEL & KURTIS

Married & Celebrated: ABBEY ROAD FARM, CARLTON

Date: SEPTEMBER 5, 2024

Amid all the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Michael Coon and Kurtis Owen found something to rely on: each other. The couple met online and quickly bonded over movie nights, shared laughter and wine tasting. Abbey Road Farm’s winery was the perfect venue—as an architect, Michael adored the elegant design with exposed wood trusses. The couple embraced minimalism in their décor, letting the space’s natural beauty speak for itself. Every unique touch was intentional and expressed Michael and Kurtis’ bold personalities, like the three disco ball chandeliers accented with bright flowers that hung above the reception. Every floral arrangement from Botanica Floral Design featured a bed of dried flowers and pampas grass as a neutral base color palette, with bursts of brighter hues woven in. The sun-drenched outdoor ceremony featured stunning views of the surrounding fields and rolling hills. A set of rainbow smoke cans created an exciting moment, with the release of colorful clouds making for a beautiful photo opportunity. The celebration moved indoors for dinner and dancing, where an array of personal touches added to the warm atmosphere, including napkins featuring the couple’s treasured dogs, Beau and David. Several neon signs included some of their favorite phrases, and rainbows incorporated in the florals celebrated Michael and Kurtis’ authenticity and identity. The dreamy night could not have better represented the couple’s bold and unapologetically fun personalities. —Jasmine Shackleford

ERIN & CHARLOTTE

Married: REX HILL WINERY, NEWBERG

Celebrated: BLOCKHOUSE, PORTLAND

Date: NOVEMBER 2 & 3, 2024

Erin Anderson and Charlotte Weller’s wedding weekend perfectly reflected the duality of the couple’s interests with a warm, intimate ceremony followed by a lively dinner and dance party. The happy couple wanted to honor both their love for the outdoors and their passion for exploring city life with a two-day excursion, each day inspired by their complementary hobbies. Under an overcast sky, Charlotte and Erin’s vision for a cozy ceremony came to life on the verdant grounds of Rex Hill Winery. Erin and Charlotte opted for unique textures and color combinations when it came to their floral arrangements. Romantic blooming dahlias, roses and zinnias were paired with playful ornamental kale, amaranth and smoke bush in colorblocked hues of burgundy, bright pink and creamsicle orange. Charlotte’s black satin puff-sleeved gown contrasted beautifully against Erin’s whimsical floral lace, a visual representation of their dynamic personalities. Their tear-jerking ceremony, framed by moody florals, was followed by a simple cocktail hour, during which guests reveled in the newlyweds’ love. The following day, elegant signage stated, “Join us at the Love Club,” inviting Charlotte and Erin’s loved ones for an evening of dinner, drinks and dancing. Soft shades of sage served as an accent, gracing the tablescape and custom matchboxes. Embroidered hats, heart-shaped sunnies and light-up foam sticks were offered as accessories for the dance floor. After a lively dinner and dancing, Erin and Charlotte gifted their guests with custom cookies showcasing their beloved pet as a sweet ending to their day. —Ryley S. Hoff

STEPHANIE & NATE

Married & Celebrated: CHATEAU DE HARPE, WEST LINN

Date: AUGUST 24, 2024

It is impossible to imagine that Stephanie Wilson and Nate Dykes knew just how spectacular their big day would be when they decided to host it at Chateau De Harpe. From the outside, the venue offered picture-worthy architecture and lush greenery at every turn, which was nearly rivaled by the elegant European design of the interior. Stephanie, a vision even in her getting-ready attire, was a sight to see as she walked down the aisle in her modern sheath dress, accentuated with draping and pearl detailing at the bodice, and a petite bouquet of white roses in her hand. In the words of Taylor Howie, owner of Howie Photography, “The groom’s eyes said it all—his love for her was undeniable.” After matching bronze-gold rings were exchanged, the party made its way to cocktail hour, where the couple’s signature drinks were served. Excluded from the sophisticated white and black theme were the light yellow bridesmaid dresses, a fun pop of color. A seating chart of muted, natural tones adorned with bud vases invited the newlyweds’ “Best Buds” to find their seats in a soft and pleasing way. As the stars came out over the twinkling lights of the celebration, the guests and bridal party alike began to hit the checkered dancefloor, where the groom and his bride—who had changed into her standout reception dress—danced hand in hand, making memories that will last them a lifetime. —Kaitlyn Meehan

KELSIE & HUNTER

Married & Celebrated: THE ORCHARD, HOOD RIVER

Date: JULY 21, 2024

Kelsie Calderon and Hunter Strader were positively enveloped in love at their al fresco “I do’s” set against a bounty of florals and verdure. The bride and groom, connoisseurs of genuine love and grounded connections, celebrated their nuptials at The Orchard in Hood River among 150 friends and family members. When designing their day, they kept the natural beauty of the backdrop in mind, shooting for earthy and intimate details. An open ceremony space dotted with dahlias—Kelsie’s favorite—welcomed guests to the heartfelt vow exchange. Once the two were officially wed, attendees retreated to the indoor-outdoor reception space—some stopping at the lavender fields along the way to take pictures. Everyone dined under crisscrossing café lights at long farm tables sporting tulle runners and delicate posies of blush, coral and cream blooms, nodding to the sprawling gardens and orchard on the property. After performing their first dance on the lawn, the newlyweds joined the party at their sweetheart table, which sat behind a grand arrangement of the day’s signature blossoms. Following a delicious dinner, warm speeches from their nearest and dearest highlighted the couple’s all-encompassing love, bringing both tears and laughter to the room. Hunter and Kelsie danced away in their elegant ensembles: Hunter in a tan-suit-white-tie combination and Kelsie in a sleek, form-fitting sweetheart gown. The pair made it a point to hold special dances not only with their parents but with their grandparents as well. The following dance party was only paused when the couple cut their cake— the icing on top of an idyllic wedding day. —Megan Simpson Teeter

MOLLY & EMMA

Married & Celebrated: MT VIEW ORCHARDS, MOUNT HOOD

Date: AUGUST 8, 2024

A close friendship can be an incredible foundation for a relationship—just ask Molly Murtaugh and Emma Jones, who knew each other for 14 years before realizing they were meant to be together. The couple kept that warm feeling in mind when wedding planning, opting for an intimate but elevated backyard barbeque aesthetic for their big day. They went for a casual and welcoming vibe, focused on personal touches and led by a team of local women-owned vendor companies. Breaking tradition, the pair got ready for the day together, laughing and reminiscing as they helped each other into their complementary gowns. Soon after, they stood beneath a lush floral arch bedecked in blush and cream blossoms. Emma’s birth mother officiated the ceremony and invited Emma’s adopted mother and Molly’s mom to wrap their daughters in a ceremonial blanket, honoring Emma’s Native American heritage. The celebration included cocktails topped with edible illustrations of the newlyweds’ dog, Sully, and an ice cream truck bearing dessert.
