COLOR ME HAPPY

The question I am asked most often is what truly makes a wedding unique? After poring over hundreds— maybe thousands—of weddings throughout my career, the answer is clear: the magic ingredient is you. Your relationship, your culture, your family—even your fashion—all these beautiful muses tell the story of you.

This issue of Minnesota Bride celebrates bold and authentic choices told through a technicolor lens. Bright, botanically inspired palettes are the it girl this season, from juicy tomato reds (page 64) to zesty citrus shades (page 62). Chowgirls Catering took a sustainable approach to color and showcased how an orange and green palette paired with local ingredients evolves each season (page 116).

And color doesn’t have to come in pairs. We gathered a talented team of creatives including NOUSOCIAL and Reverie Floral Design for a sunshine-filled yellow design at The Wexford at Emerald Greens (page 98).

Our fashion editorials are also spiked with a little color. My team and I traveled to Lake Superior on what may have been the coldest and windiest day in September for our fashion editorial (page 78). With the dramatic black sand beach as our backdrop, we focused on structured and statement gowns to bring a stylish edge to beach nuptials. Managing Editor and fashion guru Sydney Stevens upped the ante on accessorizing your bridal look with couture details such as Lucite bangles, a lily-adorned choker and more (page 90).

If you’re looking for inspiration that centers personal authenticity, explore our curated selection of real weddings brimming with heartfelt details (page 209). SPRING INTO ACTION

Inspired by the abundance of spring, this collaborative design from Alma Rose Floral and Ashleyn Przedwiecki of LUUM Collective at The Whim incorporates sustainability with romance. A light and airy display of locally grown blooms mingles with garden-fresh vegetables to create a scene that feels earthy and whimsical.

A palette of soft pastels anchored by mossy green, pink and muted lilac evokes effortless elegance, while foraged branches cast sculptural shadows in the light. Seasonal produce—asparagus, turnips and cabbage—is artfully woven into the bouquet and centerpieces among spring flowers of fritillaria, ranunculus, hellebores, tulips and narcissus.

Notably, each detail reflects a thoughtful commitment to conscious luxury. The florals are foam and chemical-free as well as seasonally sourced. The bridal gowns are from Alexandra Grecco and The LAW from The White Room, both of which champion slow design and ethical craftsmanship. To complete the eco-chic narrative, the stationery is printed on hemp paper with plant-based inks. “This design is a joyful reminder that sustainability isn’t a sacrifice,” says Przedwiecki. “It’s an invitation to get creative, connect locally and let nature lead the design process.”

They say three’s a crowd, but for Nicolette and Jackson, their wedding day would have felt incomplete without including their sweet cat Luna. After a stormy night brought her to their doorstep, the couple brought her inside and instantly fell in love with her. Four years later they knew their “little soulmate in cat form” had to be part of their elegant black-and-white celebration. Luna was brought along for the wedding weekend, making a special appearance in photos. For the parts of the wedding that were less fitting for a cat to attend, Luna was still there in spirit with images of her face gracing cocktail napkins and blown up into fat heads used in the grand march. “It meant so much to us to include her on our wedding day and is something we will forever cherish,” says Nicolette. “She has been through so many chapters of our lives and including her in our biggest chapter yet was the greatest blessing.” — Ryley S. CLASSIC WITH A TWIST

Colette and Dylan’s wedding blended timeless elegance with thoughtful personal details, creating a celebration that felt both classic and deeply rooted in place. After a traditional Catholic Mass at the bride’s childhood parish in West Saint Paul, guests traveled to the Confluence Hotel in Hastings to celebrate. The restored historic factory, perched along the Mississippi River, offered a scenic backdrop that echoed Colette’s Minnesota upbringing surrounded by lakes and water.

Subtle, but deeply personal choices added romance to the graceful ambiance. A refined palette of ivory, gold and delicate blue was intentionally chosen to reflect the riverfront setting and the nature of their relationship. “Ours is a classic and timeless love, described as constant, secure and comfortable,” remarks Colette. “I chose soft, bridal and romantic colors to complement this feeling.”

Elegant florals played a defining role in elevating the aesthetic: lush ivory roses, ranunculus and hydrangeas with light blue delphiniums were woven throughout the design as a nod to the river outside the venue’s windows. Adding a spark of whimsy, the couple incorporated vintage-inspired depictions of a bride and groom, from their custom welcome sign to an adorable retro cake topper. But one unplanned detail remains one of their most cherished moments. “Photos were captured of our grandparents dancing, the speeches and toasts our loved ones braved, and the memories shared with everyone there are the most special of all,” says Colette. “And that’s what really matters.” —Lara Burnap

They say that friendship is the perfect stepping stone to a romantic relationship, and for Bailey and Kyle, this could not be more true. The spark between them was undeniable from the moment their mutual friends played cupid and set them up. Their relationship and bond strengthened as they celebrated milestones together, including graduating from college, starting their respective careers, moving in together and adding a kitten, Parmesan, to their family. After several years of making memories, Kyle proposed in October 2025 at Noerenberg Gardens in Wayzata, followed by a luxurious dinner at Macanda. Hinton Studios effortlessly captured their playful personalities, offering a glimpse into their sweet bond. The lovebirds are scheduled to be married at Stonebrooke Golf Club in June 2026.

Tomi and Marco’s love story was sparked by a playful debate over who was late on the first day of culinary school. While they studied to become chefs, Marco made it his mission to steal her heart before anyone else could. His quick humor and flirtatious charm caught her attention, and from that day forward, they became inseparable.

When it came to time to make it official, Marco planned a joyful proposal. During the couple’s annual Christmas Eve celebration with family, Tomi opened what she thought was a gift of cozy pajamas, only to discover another surprise tucked at the bottom of the bag: a necklace engraved with

her name and the proposal date. When he dropped to one knee, Tomi—overwhelmed with happiness—enthusiastically nodded “yes.”

My favorite photographs often spring from those loose, unplanned moments when everyone relaxes and forgets there’s a camera nearby.

For their engagement photos, the couple headed to Cathedral Hill neighborhood in St. Paul, just steps from the cathedral where they will marry. Guided by photographer Kelly Grundhauser of Kelly Birch Photography, the shoot captured their natural warmth and chemistry set against the backdrop of the city they call home. “Engagement shoots let us stretch our creative muscles,” says Kelly. “We can wander to spots that feel like your secret places, relive a favorite date night, revisit a place that holds special meaning, chase the last gold streaks of sunset or try something completely different.”

It was kisment when Katie met Zach during her final PA rotation at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. Their first date at Dangerous Man Brewery felt effortless—one of those rare moments when everything clicks. From that night on, they knew it was the start of something special.

A year and a half later, Zach proposed on Katie’s birthday beneath the twinkling holiday lights of downtown Stillwater, making the season all the merrier. Their engagement session was beautifully captured on a summer day with the historic Landmark Center as the backdrop. The couple opted to treat the photo session like a date night, says Katie. “We got to our location early and enjoyed happy hour first. It was perfect.”

Amid golden light, Bellagala photographer, Angela H., captured the pair’s natural joy—a perfect reflection of two people deeply in love and excited for their future together. “I love photos that feel soft, romantic and genuine,” says Angela. “I often start with a cozy pose, then I’ll ask the groom to whisper something funny in her ear or snuggle close to her. Those moments always bring out real smiles and laughter.” According to the couple, their favorite images are the candid shots where they are giggling and having fun, the best recipe for memorable photos. “Just us laughing and enjoying each other’s presence while our photographer worked her magic,” says Katie.

Cupid had his own sense of timing for Samantha and Hart, who first met on Valentine’s Day. They had known of each other for years through social media, but their connection began when Hart sent a message saying he wanted to get to know Samantha. She said yes to a date and without hesitation, Hart drove up from college that same day to meet her.

After college, Hart’s career took him to Florida. For years, the couple made countless trips between the Midwest and the Sunshine State. Once Hart was able to work remotely, they settled in Minneapolis but continued vacationing in Florida. It was on one of those visits that Hart planned the perfect proposal. Following dinner at one of their favorite restaurants in Daytona Beach, he led

Samantha to the beach at sunset, and among scattered rose petals Hart asked her to marry him.

Their adventurous spirit made quite a splash during our engagement session.

When it came time for their engagement photos, The Hewing Hotel in Minneapolis felt like a natural choice. “We travel often, so a hotel was a meaningful and fitting backdrop,” Samantha shares. Not only does the hotel’s stunning balcony feature views of the Minneapolis skyline; it is also a short distance from the Minnesota Vikings stadium, a fitting location for the devoted Vikings fans.

The rooftop pool photos were a spontaneous touch. “I’d wanted to do pool photos for a while,” Samantha says, “but we weren’t sure if it would actually happen until it all just came together in the moment.”

Katelyn and Austin both attended Southwest Minnesota State, and though they had many friends in common, their paths never crossed. Years later, at a friend’s wedding, fate finally intervened. Thus, they were drawn to the historic architecture of St. Paul’s most storied landmarks—The St. Paul Hotel and the Landmark Center. Their portraits also include their four-legged sidekick, Kirby. “Our favorite moment of the shoot was seeing our vision come to life and being able to incorporate Kirby,” says Katelyn.

A DARING MONOCHROMATIC DESIGN SCHEME EVOKES OLD HOLLYWOOD GLAM AND LUXURIOUS ROMANCE AT FOUR SEASONS HOTEL MINNEAPOLIS

“Swanky,” “extravagant” and “magical” were the three words Amari wanted to emulate at her and Sam’s wedding day—and that they did, with the help of wedding pro, Ashley Mansy, founder and lead planner of Poppati Events. Drawing inspiration from their love of New York City, movie theaters and extravagant cuisine, the Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis was transformed into a red dreamscape where bold design and guest experience combined to create a standout celebration. “From the start, Amari and Sam’s vision was unapologetically bold,” Mansy says. “An Old Hollywood dream reimagined through a modern, immersive lens.”

Service began as soon as guests arrived, greeted by fiery florals and attendants in chic red suits guiding them to the event space. Guests passed through candlelit corridors, receiving champagne flutes with monogrammed popcorn cones along the way, before entering a theatrical ceremony scene defined by sweeping red drapery, towering chandeliers and a floral aisle leading to a stage. “It was a scene I designed to evoke awe and emotion, balancing intimacy with spectacle,” Mansy says.

Cocktail hour was as immersive as the ceremony. Guests were serenaded by a live saxophonist, enjoyed a roaming caviar cart and glasses of bubbly etched with names and seat assignments emerged from hands inside an artful installation. “Our top priority was to make our guests feel as special as we felt that day,” Amari says. The couple even included their dog, Crouton, with an ice luge, matchboxes and menus bearing his image.

Throughout the luxe experience, guests savored a variety of culinary treasures, from mini lobster rolls and cacio e pepe risotto, to late-night New York-style pretzels, pizza and gelato. “Every design concept I proposed centered on that energy, drama, glamour and a bit of magic,” Mansy says. Disco performers, live music, a four-foot-long millefoglie cake and an afterparty at Four Seasons’ bar, Mara, offered a cinematic ending to the magnificent black-tie soirée.

A ZESTY AFFAIR FILLED WITH DELECTABLE FRUITS AND DYNAMIC HUES

A juicy palette of mouthwatering hues brings the minimalist walls of Woodhaven Weddings + Events to life in a design celebrating the revitalizing energy of spring and summer. Vibrant orange, goldenrod and infrared-hued florals weave throughout the space in little bursts of sunshine. The ceremony amplifies the venue’s modern sensibilities with the petal-lined aisle leading to a unique retro-inspired altar. THE COZY COMFORT OF AN INTIMATE ITALIAN RESTAURANT…AMPLIFIED

Green Goddess Floral channels la bella vita in this elevated rustic design starring fresh fruit and vegetables at The Essence Event Center in St. Paul. Eye-catching details transform the space into a verdant indoor garden bursting with color from start to finish. Warm strings of light illuminate tables topped with red gingham tablecloths reminiscent of a hole-in-the-wall trattoria. Lush dahlias and roses interspersed with in-season vegetables are artfully tucked into vintage-inspired tomato cans while pots of basil and fresh bread loaves infuse the air with a delectable scent. Whimsical touches add a joyful feel to the setting, such as the retro-designed menu. One of the standout moments is the escort card display. “The seating chart was a 360-degree experience complete with a wooden wire spool and cutting boards calligraphed with seat assignments,” says Jeni Becht of Green Goddess Floral. “It also had fun accents like vintage scales, pasta containers, basil plants, olive plants, bread loaves and cabbage vases.”

Tomatoes make a playful appearance throughout the design, from the cherry tomatoes atop each napkin to the signature cocktail, “The Tomatini.” The bridal bouquet also captures the fresh-from-the-garden vibe with its array of brightly-hued local blooms accented by plump, on-the-vine tomatoes, garlic cloves and cattle horn peppers. The flourishing setting is a veritable journey to Italy—without boarding a plane.

EQUESTRIA WEST TRAVELS TO PALM SPRINGS IN THIS BRIGHT BIRD-INSPIRED DESIGN

“Equestria West has a stunning sculpture of two birds intertwined, and it felt like the perfect starting point for a celebration about partnership and connection,” says photographer and designer Alexandra Robyn. “From there, we leaned into the playful, sun-soaked energy of Palm Springs with its iconic birds of paradise and vibrant palm landscapes.”

Robyn and Juniper Rose Floral created an exuberant scene awash in fresh, summery colors of soft pink and coral with splashes of key lime green and lemon yellow. Subtle bird motifs were woven throughout the design, from the swan-adorned invitations to the feathery touch in the bride’s hair. Stealing the show are vintage swan vases filled with sprightly arrangements of protea, lilies, dahlias, roses and cosmos alongside delicate wildflowers. “They brought the whimsy and elegance this concept needed while honoring the bird inspiration in such a beautiful, understated way,” she says.

Throughout the design, sculptural anthurium leaves and tropical flora add Palm Springs vibes to the airy blooms. Adding a touch of playfulness are key lime pie shooters serving as escort cards. “With the fresh color palette and thoughtful layers of texture, the tablescape feels like a Palm Springs garden party translated into something timelessly elegant,” says Robyn.

There is a reason yellow is often considered the universal color of happiness. From butter and pale tones to golden and vibrant shades, each hue evokes a sense of joy. Utilizing this cheerful palette, Diana Torgerson, owner of Reverie Floral Design, and Lexi Skoog, owner and event lead of NOUSOCIAL, collaborated to create a monochromatic wedding design centered on yellow.

The Wexford at Emerald Greens served as the host, offering a serene outdoor ceremony site with pristine golf course views. Mirroring the movement of the flowing waterfall, Torgerson designed a one-of-a-kind, overflowing floral aisle bursting with texture that appeared to grow organically from the ground. “Diana dreamed up the perfect floral design that tied in the colors and complemented the existing natural setting,” Skoog says.

Rattan elements were at the forefront of the design, adding visual interest and warmth that complemented the buttery palette. Building on this concept, Brooke Thies Designs crafted charming invitations featuring a rattan gatefold and a three-panel escort card display. Stripes were also incorporated to match the playful aesthetic and add depth to the monochromatic theme. Intentional details, such as scalloped edges and yellow floral stamps, worked together to enhance the cheerful atmosphere.

It became a fun game of layering in textures, colors and shapes that made sense with the overall look and feel.

Inside The Wexford’s stunning reception space, natural light poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a soft glow over an ethereal tablescape. A grand floral meadow served as the focal point, overflowing with lush yellow botanicals. “We wanted to add an element of surprise,” Skoog says. “And we did just that by having the florals sprouting from the center of the king's table, all the way down, then pouring out at the end of the table to the ground.” Romance was in full bloom, magnified by the gentle flicker of butter-colored candles and a delicate, gardenesque aroma that filled the room. “Subtle hints of blush and gold became the unsung hero in certain placements, and the scalloped print pieces shouted happy!” Skoog says.

A magnificent three-tiered buttercream cake made by Hey There, Cupcake was subtly adorned with florals that highlighted its vertical line pattern. Inspired by the event’s floral composition, Zhinus Delights created exquisite floral cupcakes in soft shades of yellow, naturally. The finishing touch was the addition of two boldly patterned linens that flawlessly complemented the entire vignette.

The sun-drenched cocktail hour featured drinks served from Piccadilly Pours’ revamped mobile camper. Refreshing libations were inspired by the surroundings: the Fairway Fizz included frozen orange juice shaped like a golf ball, while the Layup Lemonade offered a sweet blend of coconut milk. Plush striped chairs, scalloped signage and rattan accents all echoed the overall design theme.

The Wexford is situated on a beautiful golf course that sets a perfect scene for a sunny day.

BOLD MAXIMALISM AND REFINED ELEGANCE SEAMLESSLY BLEND TO CREATE A REALM OF ENCHANTMENT AT WOODLAND GLASSHAUS

Set within an enchanting forest, offering idyllic views from every angle, Woodland Glasshaus at Bavaria Downs strikes the ideal balance between modern elegance and natural beauty. Its two atriums engulf guests in nature, creating an immersive earthy experience. Inspired by the airy space and a desire to craft a wedding concept centered on banquette seating, Jacqueline Johannesson, owner and lead designer of Collected & Co. assembled a team of local wedding professionals to develop a design steeped in magic.

Rich green velvet drapery was the focal point for the outdoor ceremony, establishing a lavish, yet inviting tone. The half-round ceremony platform was artfully framed with an organic blend of blooms, evoking the sense of quiet luxury, while Collected & Co.’s “Edith” chair complemented the scene with its stonewashed finish.

A masterclass of elegant maximalism was on full display in the atrium. Bold patterns, unique textures and opulent colors came together in perfect harmony, creating a feast for the eyes. A carefully curated botanical mix of verdant greenery mixed with classic cream-colored blooms and vibrant pops of fuchsia and magenta enhanced the gardenesque atmosphere. “This creates a dynamic, high contrast look that feels unexpected and celebratory,” Johannesson says. Leaving no detail overlooked, the team fashioned a custom belly-band napkin fold to secure menus in case of sudden wind. The introduction of banquette seating guided the layout and served as one of the primary influences behind the overall design scheme. “It transforms the tablescape into a destination,” Johannesson says. “Comfortable, intimate yet visually striking.”

The mix of pillows, textiles and layered florals creates a lounge-like atmosphere that feels luxurious yet welcoming.

In the spirit of bringing the outside in, bowering florals flawlessly incorporated a vertical design element. Sophisticated chandeliers suspended from foliate structures illuminated immaculate tablescapes below, while the “Edith” chair echoed the venue’s black framework. Remaining simple yet visually intriguing, a two-tiered cake acted as a sweet finale, featuring intricate floral detailing and textural delight.

Grandiose wood bars embraced the rich color palette, accented with luscious florals in stone vases.

An array of snapdragons, delphinium, roses and textural greenery sprouted from tables, creating an ethereal feeling amid the sea of unified motifs.

“We’re never afraid to mix textiles and patterns, letting each linen set the tone for its own distinct place setting,” Johannesson said.

The open-air feel allowed us to lean into rich greens and botanical motifs without overwhelming the space.

Thus, Annie Pennings Edmond of Chowgirls Catering and Ashleyn Przedwiecki of LUUM Collective united to develop a sustainable design for each of the four seasons, based on an orange and green color palette and a consistent menu template. The collaboration showcases the beauty of relying on the region’s bounty with Chowgirls cooking up delicious menus from a summertime spread with bright salads and fruit-forward desserts to winter’s comfort foods—think butternut squash purée and Swiss chard gratin. “Leaning into the colors of orange and green pushed us to get creative with the menu while still staying seasonal and local,” says Edmond. “A favorite detail was showcasing how our organic vegetable platter changes so much with each season yet is still absolutely gorgeous and delicious in all!”

With summertime being Minnesota’s most abundant season, this tableau leans into food as décor. “Everything from fresh fruits, herbs, edible flowers and seasonal produce adds natural texture and color to tablescapes,” says Przedwiecki. Cosmos Floral leaned into the “less is more” philosophy and incorporated a few key flowers—

marigolds, dahlias and rudbeckia accented with geranium and sprigs of tomato vines. Summer is also a great time to explore menu options. “Lean into biodiversity,” says Edmond. “Showcasing unique or lesser-known varietals like purple artichokes, snap peas or cauliflower creates a sense of discovery and leaves a lasting impression.”

Warm and cozy autumn vibes were brought to the table with the appearance of dried flowers, grasses and seed pods, imbuing a natural, earthy feel. The color palette moved into deep hues of reds, burnt oranges and golden browns. The Tiny Florist turned to the hothouses at local flower farms where foxglove and geranium foliage were still blooming to bring in a peachy tone. A visit to the farmers market brought texture to the tablescape with a mix of kale, tomatoes and Chinese long beans.

Keep in mind that planning a sustainable wedding also has a learning process. “Research seasonal and locally sourced flowers and foods,” Przedwiecki says. “They not only reduce environmental impact but also capture the natural beauty and flavors of the season.” From there, add texture and color through rentals such as linens, candles and place settings to create an elevated look that is cohesive, conscious and beautiful.

Think about any ingredients or foods that feel special or symbolic to you. If pears have always felt meaningful, then planning a fall wedding aligns the menu with that vision.

With freezing temperatures, frozen lakes and snowy landscapes in the mix, winter weddings present a challenge for sourcing locally grown flowers. “Winter can be a wonderful time to spark creativity in designing florals and tablescapes for events,” says Megan Barker of The Tiny Florist. Thus, designers often turn to dried florals and foraged elements for a sustainable and earthy look. In lieu of traditional floral centerpieces, the team opted for dried and fresh white pine branches, dried strawflowers and foraged pinecones. “The minimalistic centerpiece design let the bends, arcs and color variations of the

evergreen boughs become the focal point with one or two branches creating the overall silhouette,” says Barker.

Deep jewel-tones dazzle against the snow while brass accents deliver oldworld charm and a warm glow. Since the natural elements are subtle in color, opting for a vibrant menu can create an unexpected design impact. “If color is important, we can brainstorm foods that naturally fit within your palette,” says Edmond. “There are often exciting, unexpected ingredients that can bring color to your menu in a fresh way.”

To celebrate the anticipation and joy of spring, LUUM leaned into a playful chartreuse green and soft citrusy orange. Minne Floral Co. incorporated blooms from local growers and her own garden, such as the freshly bloomed chives that brought

a delicate purple hue to the tableau. Crisp veggies such as asparagus and peas were nestled alongside a vernal floral mix of colorful pansies as well as ranunculus, lilacs, bearded irises, Icelandic poppies and viburnum.

There was a sweet calm that settled over the morning of Emily and Riley’s wedding—the kind that comes when every detail has been chosen for a reason. They got ready on-site at the bride’s family farm, surrounded by close family and friends. Emily’s sleek gown paired effortlessly with her cathedral-length veil, while Riley’s deep burgundy jacket added a refined pop of color against the neutral tones of the day. The ceremony took place outdoors under an open sky, framed by a wooden arch built by the groom and his father, softened with white blooms and winding greenery. The celebration continued across the family’s property, where guests were greeted by some of the farm’s most beloved residents—horses, goats, chickens, cats and dogs. Even Emily’s miniature pony, Princess, made an appearance. Beneath a sailcloth tent, long wooden tables were dressed in black linens, gold flatware and arrangements of white and blush flowers, sourced by the bride, set in antique glass and hurricane vases. Candles and mirrored accents caught the light as dinner, prepared by a family friend, was served. Instead of a receiving line, Emily and Riley visited each table to gift personalized wine bottles and thank guests for coming. Later, they cut a white cake trimmed with baby’s breath and danced late into the night. The beams from their handmade altar will one day become fireplace mantels in their home—a lasting memorial of a day built on love and family. — Megan Simpson Teeter

Amid the lush greenery of 7 Vines Vineyard, Lindsay and Connor celebrated their wedding day with lavish elegance. The happy couple sought to subvert tradition by centering their nuptials not solely on themselves but on providing their loved ones with a luxurious yet relaxed experience. Embracing the verdant hues of the vineyard, Lindsay’s bridesmaids donned dresses in varying patterns and shades of green. Lindsay, wearing a high-neck, open-back gown, allowed her dress to speak for itself, foregoing a veil and carrying only a bouquet of whimsical white florals as she walked down the aisle. Under an arch of hydrangeas, cosmos, garden roses and an abundance of greenery, Connor awaited the love of his life in a timeless tuxedo. Following the ceremony, guests were guided to their seats via an escort display featuring flower baskets and charcuterie boards, reflecting Lindsay’s passion for cooking. The indoor reception was adorned with opulent florals and accented with green grapes, playfully referencing the vineyard setting. Indulging in good food and fine wine, Lindsay and Connor were happy to have focused on their personal interests for their wedding day, celebrating their love with authentic and stylish flair. — Ryley S. Hosting their nuptials under a towering bluff, Taylor and Nick created a sophisticated celebration with dramatic flair where the textures of nature and artful design married one another. The overall aesthetic of the day was moody and far from traditional. Layers of ruched ivory fabric framed the ceremony site, draped elegantly against the stone wall, while moss-covered towers climbed with deep burgundy blooms, anthuriums and trailing greenery. The day began at the wooded venue, where guests were greeted with a warm fall palette and the scent of fresh foliage. Taylor’s lace gown, structured at the bodice and fluid through the skirt, stunned her attendees; her bridesmaids wore deep burgundy gowns that echoed the floral tones. Nick and his groomsmen, in sharp black tuxedos, added a timeless contrast to the richly textured surroundings. Family touchpoints made the night even more meaningful. Both sides helped build and source décor, and their respective grandmothers walked as flower girls, adding an extra jolt of levity. Following the ceremony, guests gathered for cocktails that reflected the couple’s business, Citrusy. Custom drinks (Taylor’s Shirley, the Stein-A-Rita and a Citrusy Spritz) were served beneath bar signage draped in wine-colored satin and accented with fruit-forward florals, while branded trucker hats were available to loved ones as favors. Inside the reception, long tables were layered with heavy custom linens and minimalist calla lily centerpieces—a study in simplicity. The sound of glasses toasting carried through the space as the newlyweds danced one last time under the same cinched fabric that framed their “I dos.” — Megan Simpson Teeter

A love story that bridged the distance between Minnesota and Florida, Kate and Dylan caught flights and feelings for each other during their courtship. It began with a simple follow on Instagram and eventually bloomed into an oceanside proposal at the Naples Pier, the very spot where they had spent their early days watching sunsets together. For their wedding day, the pair sought to fuse Floridian aesthetics with the Midwestern beauty of Redeemed Farm while incorporating heartfelt touches. To honor Kate’s late father, a portrait of him was tucked inside her bouquet, allowing him to symbolically walk her down the aisle. Thankfully, the stormy summer skies parted just in time for their verdant garden party-inspired ceremony. An abundance of blooms lined the serpentine aisle as the bridal party carried playful floral wicker baskets in lieu of bouquets. Rose petals drifted through the air as Dylan and Kate sealed their marriage with a kiss at the end of the aisle. The indoor reception was just as lush as the ceremony, with the bright white interior offering a perfect backdrop for the roses, hydrangeas and foliage to pop. In another tribute to Kate’s late father, the couple’s first dance was scored by the song he had sung to her mother on their wedding day exactly 30 years earlier, “Love and Learn.” In a seamless blend of their worlds and families, Kate and Dylan’s wedding day became an elegant and heartwarming story they look forward to sharing for years to come. — Ryley S. Western elegance met modern sophistication for Morgan and Justin’s wedding day at a 100-year-old family farm. Los Angeles residents and Minnesota natives, the couple serendipitously met on a dating app in California. Their romance culminated in a gorgeous fall celebration that paid homage to their home state of Minnesota with a touch of California flair. On the grounds of the bride’s historic family farm, vibrant leaves provided an autumnal backdrop to the abundance of flourishing florals leading to a dramatic ceremony stage enveloped in artful arrangements of blooms. Local cream-colored hydrangeas, delicate calla lilies and striking burgundy orchids added texture, creating the perfect balance of modern elegance and timeless romance. As a personal touch, guests found their seats among horseshoes displayed on an old barn door the couple saved from a farm restoration project. Wanting to give loved ones the ultimate experience, Morgan and Justin offered an array of interactive activities, including a magician, tarot card reader, custom cowboy hat bar and beer burros, to name a few. The luxurious reception took place in a transparent tent that exuded a sophisticated garden-inspired atmosphere. Chandeliers, flickering candles and chic table lamps cast a warm glow over a glorious scene of patterned napkins, complete with horse napkin rings, rattan elements and an array of floral designs, ranging from lush centerpieces with statement blooms to delicate floral frog arrangements. A live band and an epic fireworks display brought a grand, cinematic finale to Morgan and Justin’s one-of-a-kind wedding day. — Sydney Stevens

It was not until the summer after Isabel’s senior year that she reached out to John, when they also realized they had lived down the street from one another all along. Their wedding celebration was rooted in tradition and family, with each detail intentionally chosen to honor their shared history. The weekend began with a boat cruise around Lake Minnetonka, just as Isabel’s parents had done at the start of their own wedding weekend. The following evening, the rehearsal dinner was held at Cardamom, a restaurant located just down the street from the school where the couple first met. The ceremony took place at Plymouth Congregational Church, where Isabel is a sixth-generation member and where many of her family members have also exchanged vows. Isabel wore a custom gown featuring one-of-a-kind lace, capped sleeves and an open back. She paired it with her grandmother’s veil— the same veil worn by her mother and aunts—adding a meaningful generational connection. The vow exchange was intimate and heartfelt, set against a stunning floral wall behind the altar and surrounded by soft candlelight. Following the ceremony, guests gathered for the reception at The Minikahda Club, the same venue where Isabel’s mother and aunts once celebrated their own weddings. They chose to be married at Abby’s family’s lakeside home, a setting filled with sentimental meaning. The evening before the ceremony, guests enjoyed a welcome party on the boat. On the wedding day, guests were greeted with champagne as they entered the family home, then made their way to their seats—shaded by lawn umbrellas—along the shore for the exchange of vows. Beneath the lush August greenery, Abby and Jack said “I do” in an intimate and heartfelt ceremony. Rather than a traditional wedding party, they chose to have their siblings stand beside them. In a particularly touching moment, the couple’s grandmothers served as their flower girls, symbolically tying the families together and bringing tears to many eyes. A classic white tent in the backyard hosted the reception, adorned with abundant greenery and fairy lights that added a touch of whimsy to the timeless design. January gave Morgan and Carter exactly what they hoped for: a winter gathering with echoes of the holiday season throughout the décor, where everyone they loved was in the same warm room while snow fell outside. The bride, who has spent four years in the wedding industry, knew she wanted a “warm, classic, moody, romantic and timeless” wedding and her and Carter’s day followed that vision. She carried a bouquet finished with her late grandmother’s monogrammed charm, while the groom honored his late grandfather by wearing his watch. During the ceremony, both families were invited up for a time of prayer, setting the tone for the evening. Because peonies are special to both families, the bride’s mother secretly worked with 651 Studio Floral to have them shipped from Holland—the florals were romantic, fun and overflowing in wintery whites with blush, roses, cloni ranunculus and anemones. Guests arrived to a hanging linen welcome sign, ice votives outside and a wreath-wall seating chart that exemplified Morgan’s love of Christmas. Inside, the reception glowed under sweeping drapes and twinkle lights; tabletops in champagne tones were lined with candles, black napkins and custom sugar cookies at each place that read, “you’re next!”—a wink to the many friends getting married in the same year. Mid-evening, the bride surprised everyone, including her new husband, with a second gown. Later, Carter returned the favor with a choreographed dance with his mother. With the help of HappiLily Events, their dream of a joyous garden-inspired wedding day was brought to life. Evoking the feel of a summer day sipping Aperol Spritzes in Italy, florals in sunny yellow, vibrant oranges and pink alongside pops of sky blue created a sun-drenched atmosphere. The bridesmaids wore gowns in these playful shades, with each bouquet uniquely matching the color of its wearer’s dress. Abby wore a flowing organza gown that highlighted her ethereal bridal beauty. Caleb donned a navy suit, white shirt and tie and a playful pop of florals in his bountiful boutonniere. Along the Mississippi River, white vases set against lush foliage framed the couple as they exchanged their deeply intentional vows. The aesthetic plunged into deep romanticism for the indoor reception with string lights casting a warm glow on the vibrant florals and fruitforward tablescapes. To support this atmosphere, they chose to forgo a traditional wedding party and instead hosted a more intimate guest list, ensuring an evening full of closeness and warmth. The wedding design emphasized the natural beauty of the venue, featuring a lush green garland draped along the railing leading to the front door and altar. The couple exchanged vows outdoors in front of the institute, and just after they said, “I do,” rain began to fall, prompting a second, equally heartfelt round of vows inside the museum. The Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis was an obvious choice for the couple with its outdoor area ideal for a grand ceremony and its renowned restaurant, Mara, serving as the intimate counterpart for the reception. Inspired by the French Riviera, vibrant-hued blooms graced the rooftop space. Lush bundles of nontraditional stems lined the aisle and altar, creating an elegant backdrop against the city skyline. In a stunning, glittering gown and playful high ponytail, Kate pledged her love to Tim surrounded by friends and family. A live Bossa Nova band scored the evening with its modern jazzy vibe. Slipping away for a private moment, Kate and Tim shared a champagne toast at Porzana, sister restaurant to Martina, before joining their guests for dinner and dancing. A retro ambiance welcomed guests to the reception at Mara. Gold accents and burnt orange velvet chairs set the scene for a warm and intimate celebration. On the 50th anniversary of his parents’ wedding, Trip married the love of his life, Natalie, at St. Paul College Club. The two met in law school seven years ago, and despite the serious nature of their profession, they wanted their wedding day to be laid-back, reflecting their go-with-the-flow personalities. Drawing inspiration from the venue’s colorful pops of pink and blue décor, the aesthetic for Natalie and Trip’s day was described as “classic vintage with a kitschy twist.” Pink bows along the main staircase set the tone for a playful affair. The indoor ceremony space served as a versatile blank slate. Romantic layers of pink silk fabric were fashioned into a retro backdrop. Opting to balance the cheeky pops of color, white hydrangeas, calla lilies and lush foliage in artistic sculptural arrangements to create a unique altar. With a touch of drama, Natalie glided down the aisle with a bouquet of elegant stems tied with a black bow. Her strapless gown was simple yet striking, accented with a full veil and the lengthy train of her mother’s wedding dress. Trip’s ensemble was equally intentional; his classic tuxedo accented with custom “I Do” shoes from Stubbs and Wootton and a custom cummerbund adorned with a playing card motif. The evening amplified the undeniable thread of fun woven throughout the wedding day. Laughter floated through the air as Natalie and Trip shared a meal with their loved ones before dancing the night away dressed in pink feather boas and sunglasses. — Ryley S. Hoff

Chonhanh and Nicholas’s wedding weekend beautifully combined Vietnamese and American traditions into one meaningful celebration. The festivities began on Friday morning with a traditional Vietnamese Tea Ceremony, where the couple honored ancestors and received blessings and advice from immediate family and, most importantly, offered tea to their parents and elders as a gesture of gratitude. Proceeding that was a traditional Vietnamese Le Cuoi—held at a Buddhist temple and led by a monk—where the couple exchanged vows, offered prayers to honor their ancestors and received blessings surrounded by family and friends. Vibrant red and gold décor filled the space with warmth and symbolism, while the bride and groom, dressed in traditional áo dài, shared tea with their parents and elders as a gesture of gratitude. The day ended with a buffet of homemade Vietnamese vegetarian dishes—perfectly representing both heritage and hospitality. On Saturday, the couple hosted a Western alfresco ceremony and reception inspired by modern elegance and soft, romantic tones. The open-air ceremony took place beneath a wooden arch adorned with cascading blooms, surrounded by a beautifully lush woodland scene. Inside the airy reception space, long farmhouse tables were adorned in blush runners and centerpieces of roses, greenery and baby’s breath—all lovingly handcrafted by the bride’s mother and family. As the night went on, the couple slipped away for a few quiet minutes beneath the string lights, taking in the sight of their friends and family dancing together. Meredith and Daniel’s wedding was a luminous celebration of love, faith and family, radiating timeless spring elegance. Their story began in college and over seven years, with more than five spent apart, they nurtured their bond through heartfelt letters. These cherished notes became a central theme of the day, inspiring table numbers, a seating chart and a vintage mailbox card box that celebrated their unique journey. Drawing inspiration from the soft beauty of spring, the couple chose a coastal palette of blues, crisp whites and hints of green and silver. The ceremony at Westminster Presbyterian Church reflected the depth of their faith, culminating in a joyful grand exit beneath ringing bells and waving streamers before departing in Daniel’s family’s vintage 1950s Rolls-Royce. The reception at The Beach Club blended romance with waterside sophistication. Whimsical, flowing floral designs in shades of blue, green and neutrals graced the space in clear vases, chinoiserie vessels and silver urns. Layered linens in floral, striped and velvet patterns added texture and visual interest to every table. Guests sipped signature cocktails, toasted with champagne and enjoyed a string quartet during cocktail hour before dancing to a live band under candlelight and shimmering lake views. Every detail, from curated desserts and personalized touches to the soft, ethereal lighting, spoke to the couple’s love story and the legacy of their families.
