MONOCHROMANTIC Tucked within the European charm and romantic architecture of Royal Palms Resort and Spa, a verdant vision unfolded, channeling the energy of summer in bloom. The creative team from Bash Boulevard and FERN Floral Studio welcomed a monochromatic palette, embracing every shade of green—from the florals to table settings and beyond—for a look that felt fresh, modern and full of life. Citrus fruits brought a playful twist to the design. Limes were tucked into arrangements and tablescapes, adding pops of color, natural texture and a zesty scent that captured the essence of the season. Sculptural green anthurium, fuzzy bunny tail grass, airy asparagus fern, and whimsical green trick dianthus created a layered, garden-forward aesthetic. The arrangements were artfully accented with organic elements like fresh pears and green grapes, striking a balance between modern minimalism and natural abundance. “This shoot was a great reminder that you don’t have to play it safe with neutrals,” says Kailey McCann, owner of Bash Boulevard. “Bold, intentional color can be both timeless and fresh. If you’re planning a wedding, don’t be afraid to lean into your favorite hue and let it guide your vision.”

JUST THE TWO OF US For couples looking to expand their wedding keepsakes, a private bride-and-groom session might be just the ticket. Ashley Stone of ASHLEY STONE PHOTOGRAPHY (@ashley.stone.photo) explains that couples can opt to schedule this session before or after the wedding, though after is more popular to preserve the surprise of the wedding day and avoid time constraints.
“I find these sessions super beneficial if the couple has a very tight timeline on their wedding day,” notes Stone. They also make a great choice if the couple wants some private time to connect separately from the wedding itself. Sessions can take place in a scenic location or studio, which Stone says lends a more intimate feel to the images. “All of my couples who have chosen to book a bridal session have absolutely loved the experience,” she says. “It allows them to really enjoy the moment with their spouse rather than being rushed from one festivity to the next on their wedding day.” —Chelsea Gibson

The design created an approachable, down-to-earth, warm vibe for guests, nestled in the beauty of a private orchard. “I love that this shoot focused on the love surrounding a small, intimate wedding and still had a cohesive, thoughtful design—even without all the bells and whistles that come with larger wedding planning,” notes photographer Nicole Smith of Nico Marie Photography. “It stayed humble and felt true to ‘90s backyard weddings.”

Drawing inspiration from the citrus groves of Arizona and iconic seaside towns of Southern Italy, this design offers a fresh take on summer and spring days, blending coastal charm with desert elegance. “The color story featured dreamy hues of oceanic blue, crisp whites and pops of bright, lemony yellow—a nod to the citrus groves and iconic seaside towns of southern Italy,” says Abby Barenholtz of Copper Blossom Events. “This lively palette brought a sense of movement and joy to every element, from the florals to the tablescape.” The bride embraced “something blue” in a daring baby blue gown that was elegant and effortless. The groom complemented her look in a coordinating blue ensemble. “The floral design embraces bold color with a light touch,” adds Hunter Stoddard, owner of Stoddard Floral & Co. “Lemons mingled with lush garden blooms in sunlit arrangements that spilled across tables and ceremony details.” The table displayed textured linens, café-style lanterns, fresh lemons and playful Vespa-shaped name cards that doubled as keepsakes. A custom invitation suite, accented with delicate calligraphy, echoed the coastal palette and set the tone for a celebration full of personality and style. Lemonshaped macaron cookies added a sweet finishing touch. EH Photography’s Emily Horwitz offers this advice to couples planning their big day: “Break traditions. The inspiration was truly rooted in my LOVE for old-world European cathedrals, with their SOARING arches, aged stone and the quiet ROMANCE of candlelight streaming through stained glass. –Cydney Lundahl, Westgate Events
Timeless, deeply romantic and fashionforward—these are the hallmarks of this luxurious design by Cydney Lundahl of Westgate Events at The Woodland in downtown Phoenix. “The gown was the heartbeat of the entire concept. I saw it and instantly thought of Grace Kelly,” says Lundahl of the Nicole + Felicia ball gown. “It embodied everything I wanted this editorial to feel like: romantic, regal and unapologetically bold.” To achieve her grand, old-world vision, Lundahl leaned into a warm, gem-toned palette accented by muted hues of slate blue, lilac, mauve, pink and chartreuse. “The entire shoot became a conversation between reverence and modern artistry,” notes Lundahl.

Complementing the bride’s exquisite look is the groom’s classic black tuxedo. “The moment I saw the dress, I knew exactly where the design direction was going,” says Lundahl. “Church setting, white iron chairs, wooden serpentine tables, pearls and velvet—all anchored by the elegance of the gown.”

Finding a space grand enough for this vision was simple—The Woodland in downtown Phoenix. “When I stepped into the newly remodeled church, I immediately felt European magic, timeless yet renewed,” notes Lundahl. The historic venue, a beautifully preserved chapel, features vaulted ceilings, sparkling chandeliers and warm wood accents.

“The gown set the tone, but the tablescape was pure magic,” says Lundahl. Indeed, the tables are an astonishing blend of textures: striking chartreuse velvet linens, striped menus and an ethereal arrangement of florals in a spectrum of varieties and hues, including raspberry, blueberry, nandina, dahlias, roses, delphinium and lisianthus. The artfully plated cuisine is intentionally designed to echo the flowers’ colors, a beautiful example of sensory storytelling. “Every element worked in harmony to transport guests to another world, one that felt both sacred and styled,” she adds.

“The inspiration for this design was soft buttery yellow tones that capture the warmth and joy of spring and summer,” says Andrea Baesu of A & R Event Designs, who styled this luminous tableau at The Paseo in Apache Junction. “It carries a delicate charm that perfectly complements a whimsical aesthetic.” Awash in shades of yellow, the scene radiates an effortless sense of sunshine and happiness, setting the tone for a garden dreamscape filled with light, playfulness and romance.

The serpentine layout of the ceremony aisle and reception tables adds movement and a sense of rhythm. “It’s a playful twist on traditional wedding design that invites the eye to wander and the imagination to bloom,” notes Baesu. The romantic, garden-inspired florals reflect Baesu’s European sensibility—organic, airy and artfully undone. The ceremony unfolds in a delicate display of verdant blooms, including butter yellow carnations, wax flowers, solidago and cream stock. “When I look at the meadow aisle, it feels enchanted, like something out of a dream,” she says. “It’s a design I truly believe even a fairy would approve of.”
The tabletop is resplendent with textured placemats, yellow-striped linens and airy blooms of sweet peas and garden roses nestled among moss. Flickering candles and petite wicker lamps cast a soft glimmer of romance. “With a soft ethereal touch and an emphasis on movement and texture, my work evokes a sense of effortless beauty,” muses Baesu.

The beauty of the Superstition Mountains provides a breathtaking backdrop to The Paseo, especially as the setting sun casts a warm glow across the desert. The couple met through their parents, and in 2019, a parent-organized happy hour set their story in motion. Family was the heart of their wedding. They were married with their maternal grandfathers’ rings, a tradition for Eric as the fourth cousin to do so. Lauren’s bouquet held a photo of her maternal grandmother and her paternal grandfather’s cufflinks, keeping loved ones present throughout the day. The ceremony took place beneath a chuppah of cascading white florals, followed by mingling with a beer burro adorned with a flower crown. The hall transformed into a whimsical forest with centerpieces featuring trees wrapped in ranunculus and hydrangeas. High school sweethearts Abigail and Brody knew their wedding would be a joyful celebration. Following in the footsteps of their respective parents and grandparents, they exchanged vows at their temple before welcoming loved ones to a magical reception at Brody’s childhood home. The evening reflected their love of color, whimsy and vintage charm. Guests were greeted by custom signs featuring the couple’s monogram and Abigail’s favorite flower, lily of the valley. The home became a kaleidoscope of personality: vintage-patterned linens, a baby-blue Volkswagen Beetle and chic décor. Under a wooden ramada with a chandelier dripping in blooms, guests danced the night away to tunes spun by a family friend. Garden-inspired arrangements created a an ethereal meadow, while a caricature artist, specialty sodas from a refurbished horse trailer and antique postcards for messages added personal touches. Abigail’s retro-inspired gown featured a lace back panel, her “something blue” and a chic pair of shoes while the bridesmaids wore jewel-toned dresses with crisp white bouquets. A Bumble success story for the ages, Meg fell in love with the only man she considered worthy of going on a date with from the app—Joey. Aiming to embody her grandmother’s simple, elegant dinner parties and “incredible ability to bring people together with warmth, laughter and a sense of belonging,” Meg wanted her wedding day to be intimate, chic and full of personal touches. Starting their big day with a slow morning spent at home, the pair watched as Meg’s parents’ backyard was transformed into a breathtaking ceremony and reception space. Inspired by the timeless wedding in the movie, Father of the Bride, traditional décor was thoughtfully incorporated throughout the space to foster an environment that was both refined and welcoming. Full white roses bloomed alongside blush blossoms and lush foliage, the abundant display climbing up a large tree to create a unique altar where Joey and Meg exchanged their “I do’s.” Incorporating the fresh hues of their décor, Joey wore a subtly patterned tie with his black suit while Meg was a portrait of bridal beauty in a gown delicately adorned with petal appliqués. Billowing in the breeze, a fabric seating chart led guests to the tented reception, where tastefully decorated tables glowed with warm candlelight. “It was surreal to witness all the love and effort come together in a place that holds so much significance,” Meg reflects. “The joy of being surrounded by every living person we love...there’s truly nothing like that feeling.” —Ryley S. Juliana and Nick’s wedding at Royal Palms Resort and Spa unfolded like a cinematic love story—an ode to passion, artistry and intention steeped in Italian romance. High school sweethearts turned life partners; the two share a love of reading, travel and timeless design, all of which shaped their day. The celebration unfolded as an immersive experience, blending moody sophistication with deeply personal storytelling. The palette centered on rich burgundy tones—a choice that spoke to Juliana’s bold spirit and the couple’s refusal to blend into the expected. The ceremony featured towering crimson florals and a carpet of rose petals, setting the tone for a grand evening. As guests moved from ceremony to dinner, the atmosphere deepened in richness and texture. Candlelight flickered across velvet-draped tablescapes of gold and glass while cascading blooms and wine-hued drapery transformed the fireplace into a cinematic focal point. Dinner paid homage to Nick’s Italian heritage with a four-course menu followed by favor boxes brimming with authentic Italian desserts and mini wedding cake. In the lounge, a custom book wall served as both art installation and love letter to the couple’s shared passion for reading—sculptural, sentimental and perfectly symbolic of two individuals writing their next chapter together. —Laura Cross

Henry and Ellie met one month into their freshman year of college and realized their lives were fated to intertwine after discovering their grandparents’ decades-long friendship. Embracing their intergenerational connections, the pair chose Ellie’s family farmland to host their lavish wedding. Dressed in classic wedding-day attire—Henry in a tux and Ellie in a cap-sleeve ballgown accented with heirloom jewelry—the pair exchanged vows in a private religious ceremony officiated by the bride’s grandfather. The reception at the family’s farm began with a unique display of wedding dresses worn by the women of the bride’s and groom’s families—the oldest dress being more than 100 years old. An elegant black-and-white palette unfolded, amplified by velvet green tablecloths and touches of metallic gold. The ambiance was thoughtfully balanced with one-of-a-kind details such as a custom lemonade bar and “his” and “hers” signature milkshakes—M&M and cookies and cream, respectively. In a truly unique touch, a wedding cake was the focal point of every table (a total of 18 cakes!); when it came time for cake, the couple joined their guests at each table for a personalized cake-cutting. An evening of dancing ensued, set to both a live jazz band and a prerecorded DJ set by the groom. For Ellie and Henry’s wedding day, the aim was simple: to share what they love with the ones they love. —Ryley S. Hoff

Hannah and Ben’s wedding at The Willow Weddings & Event Center unfolded as a heartfelt ode to family, creativity and intentional design. They met during the pandemic while coaching volleyball at the University of Utah; their friendship grew naturally into a relationship rooted in trust, adventure and ease. That spirit carried into their wedding, where every detail felt like a reflection of the couple. Set against the Arizona desert, the day was light, airy and effortlessly vibrant. The floral design was an organic, textural expression of joy in a whimsical palette of yellows and purples mixed with golden desert blooms. Lush bouquets, free-flowing arrangements and the pedestal ceremony display appeared to have sprung from the earth. Personal touches made the day even more meaningful—Hannah designed the invitations, wore her mother’s diamond necklace and received a handmade scarf from a neighbor. Instead of cake, Ben’s mom baked a cherry pie, his favorite, while guests took home handcrafted candles and handwritten notes. Trusting their vendors completely, Hannah and Ben let creativity lead, resulting in a celebration that felt natural, warm and deeply personal. “Find vendors you genuinely trust, let go of perfection and lean into the joy,” advises the couple. “Don’t be afraid to make your day feel like you, as that’s what makes it unforgettable.” —Laura Cross

Those interested in the art of dance understand: movement moves you. It moves your body, soul and sometimes, your heart. Dipali and Niel first locked eyes across the floor as members of the same college dance team. When it came time to plan their nuptials, their shared passion and Gujarati cultural traditions resulted in a lively three-day celebration. Day one opened with the Pithi (or Haldi) ceremony, where the bride and groom were adorned with the customary fragrant paste and showered in flower petals. For the spirited courtyard Sangeet, friends began with choreographed numbers, then the circle widened, and the whole crowd spun into garba and raas dances under twinkling lights. The wedding itself began with a palm-lined baraat and the groom in an impeccably embroidered sherwani. Under a crisp white mandap that gleamed against the desert backdrop, the two traded garlands, circled the sacred fire and sealed their vows. As night fell, the party shifted into a black-tie affair with cascading lights, lush rose centerpieces and intimate candlelight. It was the perfect finale for two dancers who never stopped moving toward each other. —Megan Simpson Teeter

The tables featured herbs, tomatoes and lemons woven among garden-inspired florals with rosemary and basil filling the air with a fresh, herbal scent.
