HAPPILY EVER AFTER
Design inspiration can come from the most unexpected places—and such was the case for photographer Liv Cruz of Liv’s Lens when dreaming up an elegant, romantic editorial at a private estate in Mesa. She found her starting point in a giant shell planter, immediately envisioning it filled with draped florals as a showstopping focal point. The planter brought her vision to life, featuring monochromatic white blooms layered with soft, flowing textures for the ceremony.
Touches of lace and moss also played a prominent role in the design scheme. “We felt so drawn to lace and wanted to incorporate it wherever we could: the veil, the dress, the backdrop and even our baguettes on the tablescape,” Cruz notes. Moss added a storybook quality to the ceremony, creating a soft, organic base for the cake to rest on.
The aesthetic carried through to the tablescape, where centerpieces felt natural, slightly overgrown, unique and luxurious—a combination of moss, florals, lace-wrapped baguettes, pearl-adorned fruit and classic silver candelabras. In lieu of a traditional bouquet, the bride carried a pearl clutch with cascading blooms—both playful and unexpected—pairing perfectly with her Basque dropped-waist gown and flowing skirt. The team envisioned a bridal look that felt as if it could exist both in a fairytale and in the modern day.
“The goal of this shoot was to create a concept that blended on-trend fashion, unique florals and unexpected details you wouldn’t typically see on a wedding day,” says Cruz. Without a doubt, it was the perfect recipe for a happily ever after.

Craving an experience that epitomized their high-spirited relationship and personal taste, Drew Keller and Tim Flescher celebrated their love at Desert Mountain Club with a deliberate and lively wedding. Thoughtfully designed, the day honored the unwavering pride Drew and Tim carry for their connection and place in the LGBTQ+ community. Before exchanging vows against the scenic desert backdrop, each groom pinned the other with a brooch boutonnière of glass forget-me-nots and pansies—representing everlasting love and queer resilience, respectively.
As lovers of music, Drew and Tim used album covers from concerts they had attended throughout their relationship as a stylish seating chart display. In a showstopping surprise for their loved ones, the reception kicked off with a dazzling drag performance, setting the tone for an evening of rowdy dancing to their favorite music. Long gone are the days when reception tables would feature simple white plates and perhaps a pop of color from the napkins. Tabletops are now a moment in and of themselves. From daring linens to unexpected elements, unconventional florals and high-end rentals—nothing is off the table.
When designing the tablescape for an intimate soirée in Sedona, The Indigo Bride team gleaned inspiration from the scenic surroundings: “We started with a color scheme that complemented the natural landscape, incorporating pinks, teal, dark green, terracotta and red,” says Bree Johnson of The Indigo Bride. “We were drawn to a Jungalow lounge aesthetic, which blends tropical elements with cozy vibes. Think bold colors, lots of plants and mixed patterns. At the same time, we wanted to introduce a sultry nighttime lounge feel.”
Jungalow-inspired linens, agave ghost chairs and low lamp lighting helped set the tone, along with vibrant floral arrangements and Casa De Perrin table settings. Every detail of the eclectic tablescape recalled the theme, including the siennarimmed rattan chargers, terracotta ceramic dinner plates, teal hand-painted salad plates, mixed glassware, gold flatware and velvet cerise napkins. Variations of hurricanes held candlelight and squiggle-shaped menus accented with a darling tassel finished the look.

For Taylor Oda of Laki Events and Design, the vision for this editorial landed outside the box: “[It was] a permission slip for romantic, maximalist couples dreaming up something out of the ordinary that blends a playful sentiment with a bold palette and a floral design that feels otherworldly.” With the help of a talented team, she brought that vision to life, layering unexpected design elements that spark the thought, “I would have never thought to put that together, but it works.”
Florals made an unforgettable statement, beginning with a trending bridal purse by Harper Floral Co. Both beautiful and functional, the showstopping accessory offers a chic spot to tuck tissues and touch-up essentials. Tabletops were a study in maximalism, with a meticulously curated mix of colors, textures and patterns paired with high-end finishes. “We wanted it to feel like a romantic sensory experience by adding feathered floral centerpieces, velvet linens, chrome accents and candles,” Oda said, “continuing to weave in the bold color palette and opposing yet complementary layers.”
Other highlights included a “something blue” vintage cake, color-bursting stationery and signage, and playful bridal styling featuring a blusher veil, heart-shaped hair jewels, orange and pink eye shadow, and chunky heels.

With bold color having such a MOMENT this year, we leaned into a pink and merlot-toned palette to create something vibrant, ROMANTIC and layered within the natural setting.
A design rich in romance and bountiful florals bursts onto the scene at The Hermosa Inn in the creative vision of Your Jubilee and Stoddard Floral & Co. Resplendent with six acres of landscaped gardens, flourishing flora, winding paths and views of Camelback Mountain, the intimate resort nestled in Paradise Valley is the perfect canvas for this colorful tableau. “The venue was already bursting with lush greenery and blooming bougainvillea, which made it the perfect backdrop for our design,” notes Meagan Pinney of Your Jubilee.

Billowing white linens are accented by pedestals draped in florals, each with a unique arrangement—some featuring a lush mix of blooms; others holding a single variety. “Draped white fabrics and elegantly wrapped pillars transformed the altar, creating a soft, angelic feel,” says Pinney. “We softened the space's terracotta, wood and desert tones with lush greenery woven into the pergola and throughout the draped fabric.”

Stone tables complement the travertinetiled courtyard, an element florist Hunter Stoddard wove seamlessly into the centerpieces by tucking shards of broken stone into the organic gatherings of carnations, hellebore, sanguisorba and lisianthus. “I wanted more of an extension of the table rather than just another centerpiece,” explains Stoddard. “I thought of travertine and decided to add it into the centerpieces.” No detail is overlooked, from the framed place cards with coordinating table numbers to the custom monogrammed napkins that grace the tables.
“The gorgeous pink gown helped set the tone for the overall color palette,” says Pinney. “The veil has long been one of our favorites; we love the floral textures and the soft shades of pink woven throughout.” The bride's soft, polished waves complement the romantic atmosphere, creating a look that is fluid and graceful. Her radiant makeup in warm, neutral tones completes the look. The burgundy-toned lip color harmonizes with the overall palette.

We built a design language rooted in the RICH contrast of cocoa and cream tones, leaning fully into a dessertforward aesthetic that felt both romantic and a touch DECADENT

For a couple enamored with the ritual and romance of dessert, tiramisù becomes a delectable muse reimagined in an oversized, statement-making form that sets the tone for a celebration as indulgent as it is refined. Designer Chelsea Gaytan of Black Tie Optional and Ashley Phillips of Amour de Sucre Bakery brought this vision to life in The Global Ambassador's garden where the verdant setting, with its filtered light and winding paths, evokes a luxe Italian garden.
Lace became a unifying motif throughout the design, from the seating display and lace-edged menu to the delicate stenciling atop each tiramisù. It is also echoed in the bride’s gown and stylish gloves. “The repetition creates a sense of cohesion while still allowing each moment to feel distinct,” says Gaytan.
A dove blue accent is woven through the warm neutral palette, lending an airy freshness to the aesthetic. “The dove blue evolved into a true anchor for the design, grounding the palette in a cool, refined richness,” says Gaytan. The florals echo this sensibility with hellebore, delphinium, sweet pea, ranunculus and scabiosa gathered in a loose, organic fashion along the table. “The florals were designed to feel lush and organic, with a softly undone quality as though they had been gathered fresh from an overgrown European garden,” says Gaytan.

“A true celebration of indulgence, the dessert experience was designed to be both immersive and unforgettable,” says Gaytan. Cannolis filled with a dove blue cream serve as the seating chart. But tiramisù is the starring role, from the personalized coupe at each place setting and the stunning tower to the pièce de résistance: a grand, oversized tiramisù anchoring the desssert table.

The adventurous couple met at the University of California, Los Angeles, though their romance waited to bloom until after their college years. Engaged while hiking the Italian Dolormites, the pair shares an authentic love for the outdoors—and their refined, intimate ceremony brought family and friends together for a desert weekend that let the destination lead the design. Effortless florals echoed the soft hues of an Arizona sunset. Buttery yellow popped against radiant crimson, while earthy ivory and peach complemented the honeyed tones of rattan chairs. Yesenia and Mirza’s intimate destination wedding at Desert View was a celebration guided by personality and passion. From the very start, the couple embraced their shared creativity. Their first date during the pandemic was anything but typical: at the scenic Grizzly Peak in Berkeley, in the backseat of Mirza’s car, the two bonded over mac and cheese. Many adventures later, their wedding day unfolded in the Arizona desert. Striking floor-to-ceiling windows and sweeping angles set an awe-inspiring scene as a string quartet guided Yesenia down the aisle. Anchored in the venue’s modern architectural spirit, a warm, organic color palette was elevated by bold movement and texture. Luscious calla lilies joined deep burgundy blooms, elegantly accented by fruit and vintage glassware. Channeling the relaxed moodiness of the couple’s favorite cocktail lounges, a saxophonist serenaded guests during dinner as the evening built toward a lively reception complete with a cigar station and a surprise fireworks show timed to the “1812 Overture,” cannons and all. —Diane Meyer

Audra and Ryan’s love story began on a school bus at thirteen, a young friendship that slowly blossomed into an everlasting love. Time strengthened their bond, and after a year of living together post-grad, Ryan proposed to Audra under the moonlight in his parents’ backyard. As a wedding planner herself, Audra brought an intentional hand to every detail of their wedding day, one that celebrated the full arc of their life together. The Scott Resort & Spa provided the ideal setting, fostering the intimate atmosphere the couple sought while comfortably embracing their large circle of family and friends. Audra floated down a winding aisle in a classic off-the-shoulder gown and lace-trimmed veil, arriving at an arch lush with soft blooms, greenery and moss. As cocktail hour gave way to the reception, a warm and cozy atmosphere emerged through chocolate-hued accents, woven textures and layered patterns. In a subtle nod to their high-school-sweetheart roots, the linked-heart motif from their save-the-dates was woven throughout the décor. A custom embroidered hat station invited guests to create their own party favor—a playful touch that spilled naturally onto the dance floor. Emily and Travis’s timeless wedding at Stonebridge Manor was a lavish soirée of everything they love. The couple found each other after an enamored Emily was captivated by Travis’ drumming videos on Instagram. The music-loving pair envisioned a ceremony where cherished songs marked special moments, balancing soothing elegance with rollicking personality. Refined renditions of ’70s rock hits performed by a string quartet greeted guests before the ceremony in the manor’s English-style gardens. The tempo was turned up for the reception during which a DJ spun ’90s rap and hip-hop. Sleek white florals and thoughtfully designed stationery featuring a custom crest set the tone for the couple’s dream garden party. Personal touches imbued the reception with a playful spirit, from playing cards that sparked lively conversation at every table to disposable cameras in every guest’s hands. The bride’s favorite snack, chips and salsa, joined the groom’s beloved BoSa Donuts and In-N-Out burgers for a spirited late-night spread. —Diane Meyer

Taking direction from the desert landscape, Caroline and Max’s wedding at Tanque Verde Ranch exuded a naturally stylish, subtle grandeur. With the roots of their romance in mind, the pair chose to marry in the state where their story began—as students at the University of Arizona. Sentimental details charmed guests throughout, including the warm welcome of gourmet cinnamon rolls from Cinnaholic, an indulgence from their college years. Glowing string lights and wicker baskets laden with white and ivory blooms brought warmth to the courtyard ceremony as a bright blue sky gave way to a starry evening. Soft sage and olive greens elevated a neutral palette, grounding the design in organic intentionality. Jordan and Joey’s wedding embraced wild western romance during a rainy weekend in Phoenix. After more than 20 years of friendship, the couple finally recognized their feelings for each other when Jordan attended a concert performed by Joey’s band. Eight years of dating later, the outdoorsy pair got engaged in Hawaii and chose the majestic Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch for their free-spirited celebration, inspired by the sprawling acres of the Tonto National Forest. In a spontaneous planning pivot, the ceremony—officiated by the bride’s brother-in-law—moved under a tent to wait out the weather. Eclectically organic, loosely arranged florals brought romantic cohesion with a touch of charismatic unruliness. A palette of warm, peachy nudes complemented the earth-toned wooden tablescapes, while retro-inspired signage took cues from the couple’s favorite records. The couple’s dog, Finn, made a sweet appearance in the cake decoration. From a breathtaking ceremony enclosed by soaring brick walls to an ornate, candlelit reception rich with black details, the couple celebrated their love in elegant, atmospheric style. Deep reds were complemented by pale pinks among a lush array of warm florals, accented by the Abbey’s sparse, subtle greenery to create a depth of color and texture that balanced the courtyard’s sun-soaked stone. A bridal party dressed entirely in black set a striking scene as Zara made her entrance in a gown and cathedral-length veil. In a memorable twist, the couple invited a tattoo artist for their guests and exchanged matching ring-finger tattoos as a symbol of their union.
