“LOVE ACTUALLY IS ALL AROUND”
—“Love Actually”
I was on a plane traveling for the photo shoots for this issue of Arizona Bride when I thought of the opening scene from one of my favorite movies, “Love Actually.” The touching footage of friends and loved ones greeting each other at London Heathrow airport, with Hugh Grant concluding that love is everywhere you turn. It made me think of weddings and that, no matter what, our little corner of the world remains full of love. When the candles have been blown out, the bouquet has been tossed and the cake has been eaten ... love is what remains . That is constant and true—and carries our couples for the rest of their lives.
As we celebrate our Best of 2025, I see love bursting and abuzz in the Arizona wedding community. Between voting online, celebrating each other’s nominations and ultimately sharing hugs and toasting talent at our gala in May, love for what you do, who you do it with and who you do it for is clear as day. It’s a beautiful thing.
This issue was so fun to put together! Through an online voting process, we arrived at our “Best of” nominees and winners. Turn to page 36 for the full list. (Couples: It’s also an incredible resource for planning your wedding!).
We headed south to Tubac for a Mediterranean-meets-cowboy design led by Confetti Event Planning that’ll make you crave an Aperol Spritz (page 54). Fun fact: Our models are a real-life couple eloping in Lake Como just about when this issue hits newsstands. Congratulazioni! Then, up in Gold Canyon, Laki Events + Design created a whimsical wonderland at Superstition Mountain Golf & Country Club (page 46) that had us swooning.

For Spring/Summer 2025 Issue
The Arizona wedding community gathered at Ocotillo Golf Club for Arizona Bride ’s Birdies & Bubbles party to celebrate the release of the Spring/Summer ‘25 issue. The inspiration behind the event was golf club chic with a color palette inspired by a round of classic golf, thoughtfully designed and planned by Tony Palacio.
Chic linens, décor and rentals brought by Creative Coverings and Hazel Grove Rentals and Design were effortlessly complemented by florals from Lena’s Events and Flowers by Jodi. The lawn was lit up by Desert Glow Co. with their marquee letters. Guests indulged in food and drinks from Ocotillo Golf Club. They finished off their night with desserts from Merry Poppins, Whisk & Paddle and Pearl’s Mini Donuts. Enhancing the classy atmosphere, guests were entertained by GME Event Group who offered music throughout the event. Caddies by Allure Entertainment greeted the crowd, and Epic Party Team provided a mini golf activity. Attendees took advantage of a photo booth by Revel Photo Booths, documenting the evening. Signage throughout the event was beautifully crafted by Deco Ink Designs.

For Kylie Wallace at K Marie Weddings, spearheading this design at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain was an opportunity to stretch her creative wings. “I really wanted everything to feel lush and organic, but I just redesigned my brand and gave it a facelift, so I wanted to show more of my own style, updated colors, the designs I’m looking to see more of and something very different than what I had been showing before,” she says of her process. And that is exactly what unfolded. Copper Cactus Design set the tone with a stunning stationery suite with raw edges and emerald accents. An intimate ceremony gave way to a gorgeous tableau draped in white linens and topped with organic, abundant floral arrangements in shades of green, cream and tan. Chic velvet napkins and stone candle holders finished the place settings, grounded by natural wooden chairs to warm the look. Wallace wanted to create “something where when you see it, you feel invited, welcomed, comfortable and cozy—but also very high-end, achievable and unique.”

For Adriana and Andrew Wilson’s October wedding, the theme was a no-brainer with Halloween, a holiday they hold near and dear, falling the very next day. They’ve always loved celebrating Halloween with their three children and wanted the day’s décor choices to reflect that passion—and it did. A magically moody, dark design scheme came to life with the Superstition Mountains peering in the background, as florals in shades of dark burgundy and green paired with candles aplenty for a romantic-gothic aura. “We wanted the wedding to be unique and to feel like you were in a Halloween movie when you stepped into the reception space,” says planner Diana Gonzalez of Diana Catherine Weddings. The Wilsons ended their night on a fitting note: A tattoo artist was on hand at the reception for the couple to link their marriage with some fresh ink. —Chelsea Gibson

Imagine a bride, rooted in the desert's ORGANIC beauty yet touched by the romanticism of old-world ROME . We curated natural floral elements and whimsical TEXTURES to complement the surroundings, crafting a design that feels both ETHEREAL yet strong and grounded.

Tucked at the base of the Superstition Mountains sits Superstition Mountain Golf & Country Club—a sublime setting where luxury and beauty intertwine for a paramount guest experience—and an idyllic spot for a team of wedding pros to bring their A game. At the design helm was Lara Jacobs, owner of Laki Events + Design. Taking cues from the surroundings, Jacobs explains: “The venue's inherent natural beauty was our primary inspiration. We designed the ceremony florals to seamlessly integrate with the surroundings, as if they had organically sprouted from the ground.”
A lilac and lavender color palette subtly touched details, making a statement while feeling neutral at the same time. Textured florals in different applications grew up from the ground, transforming a traditional aisle into a walk through a meadow.
Elegance reigned as the bride wore two trend-forward looks from True Society.
Incorporating WATER elements and reflections was crucial, especially to capture the breathtaking, natural MIRROR of the Superstition Mountains, creating a truly unique and organic backdrop for a MINIMALIST modern bride.

COLONIAL CHARM AND CONTEMPORARY DESIGN COLLIDE AT THE HISTORIC TUBAC GOLF RESORT & SPA IN TUBAC
Tubac Golf Resort & Spa sits on the 500-acre Otero Ranch, a storied property dating back to the 1700s, where cows graze freely, the sun casts a warm glow and time slows down. The Southwest retreat offers hacienda-style casitas, 27 holes of golf, a luxurious spa, fine dining and so much more for couples looking to make a special weekend out of their wedding festivities. To show just how to do that, Liz Barbato, owner of Confetti Event Planning, collaborated with a talented group to highlight the property’s splendor.
Together with Element Design & Events, Barbato wanted to design a floral structure that felt unusual and new. “Our intention was to create a courtyard that presented rich earthy tones reminiscent of moss-filled trees along with bright colored florals,” Barbato says. Hues of red, orange and taupe blended contemporary with Spanish Colonial styles, and natural terracotta pots and potted olive and Eucalyptus trees complemented the space. A mix of seating options added interest while cowhide rugs anchored the look and recalled the ranch’s history.
My design theory was ROOTED in the old Spanish Colonial style that Tubac embodies. It was important to maintain the RICH cultural influences and add MODERN design elements through florals, metals and linens.

Juxtaposing with the verdant green fields in the background, a fun, cheery cocktail hour made a statement. Bright linens, floral pops and terra-cotta pots adorned the vignette, cohesively bringing guests from ceremony to cocktails. “Again, here we blended the two styles by wrapping the bar front with Spanish Colonial images and grounding the space again with cowhides,” Barbato adds.

Alma and Trey Watmore’s love story began at Colorado College, where they first crossed paths as friends. Trey, a captain on the swim team, quickly grew fond of Alma, and over time, the feeling became mutual. For both, the relationship blossomed naturally, with Alma recalling, “Falling in love with Trey was simple … things always seemed to flow naturally.” As their bond deepened through graduation and Alma’s medical school journey, Trey’s unwavering support only strengthened her feelings. When planning their wedding, the couple focused on creating a celebration that reflected their love for life, music and movement. “We really wanted everyone on their feet dancing,” Trey says. The carefully curated playlist ensured the dance floor was full all night. Their floral choices mirrored their personalities too, with Dahlias—Alma’s favorite—and subtle pops of yellow, Trey’s preferred color. The first few dates shared between workplace friends-turned-lovers Sophie and Thomas Lenchuk were full of adventure as they made their way from one hotspot in Los Angeles to another. After nearly a year of officially dating, Tommy got down on one knee and proposed at a pumpkin patch. It was no surprise to anyone when Sophie—vibrant and effortlessly chic—planned a celebration filled with bold pinks and oranges that stood out against the gorgeous Arizona mountains. As a graphic designer, she excitedly rose to the occasion of creating fun and memorable, retro-inspired pieces for their invitation suite, vibes that carried to signage throughout the day. A romantic arch of ombré yellow, orange and pink florals awaited Sophie as she made the journey to her soon-to-be husband, arm-in-arm with her parents. Michelle and Jonsy Solis initially met and bonded over their shared love of music in 2013. After finding their way back to each other six years later, they embarked on a vibrant and playful romance that led them to Nashville, Tennessee in June 2023, where Jonsy popped the question at a surprise hillside picnic. The sunset that evening was the most stunning they had ever seen! Desiring plenty of cultural influences for their big day, Michelle fell in love with the hacienda vibes of Blackstone Country Club and the peaceful, natural atmosphere it offered them. With her best friend—Maria of Deco Ink Designs—by her side, the celebration was sure to be a hit. In addition to the natural, organic look that stone offers, it was chosen as the main element for the signage to symbolize the strength and durability of the foundation that Jonsy and Michelle wished to build their marriage upon. Throughout the ceremony and reception spaces, white roses, ranunculus and delphiniums provided an airy and timelessly romantic feel. Every place setting was given an organic touch via beautiful green and white knotted napkins, which complemented chic black bows on the glassware. Following Michelle and Jonsy’s first dance as a married couple, his brother and sister invited guests to the dance floor to partake in La Marcha, a traditional Mexican-American dance that made its way around the venue beneath the stars. —Kaitlyn Meehan

Before they were husband and wife, Christine Tumini and John Jeatran were teammates at Target for more than a year. Only when Christine received a new job and the couple encountered each other at happy hour did they begin talking more, and then their love story ascended. John proposed at an elegant dinner during a vacation in Maui, reflecting the couple’s adventurous nature and love for hiking, skiing and traveling. For their wedding, The Mirabel Club was an immediate choice for the venue, as John’s parents were members. The property’s surrounding expansive golf greens perfectly complemented the venue’s bright, modern interior. Christine’s vision for flowers, attire and signage were all brought to life in warm orange, pink and red hues. The ceremony unfolded outdoors, where the couple said their vows under sunny skies. After, the party moved indoors for dinner while the wedding team flipped the outdoor space to an enchanting dance floor decked out with string lights and sparklers. Zachariah Figurski and Jacob Romando exchanged their wedding vows beneath a wide-open desert sky in an intimate, warm celebration of their closest family and friends. The couple grew up in the same small town outside of Chicago and met through a mutual friend. After several years together, they moved to Colorado for a plethora of new opportunities. While planning their wedding day, Zach and Jacob wanted a small and intimate celebration with just 22 guests. They decided on an outdoor ceremony at Promise Rock at Boulders Resort & Spa, where the couple made their promises in the shadows of grand natural rock formations, surrounded by cacti and pale green flora. The evening sunlight created stunning contrast and orange highlights. Zach’s father served as the officiant, wearing a bright rainbow stole—a splash of color amid the glamorous black tie dress code. The outdoor reception embraced a vintage aesthetic in a charming desert garden where all the attendees sat at one long table with crisp white linens. Long after the sun set and shadows crept into the scene, the delicate white flowers shined under the string lights like stars. Instead of viewing marriage as the beginning of their love story, high-school sweethearts Samuel and Brianna Aguiar saw it as a beautiful new chapter in an already rich, true and authentic partnership. In the 13 years since they met, the pair has shared countless milestones, from college to cross-country moves and more. Wanting a heartwarming symbol of the lives they had already blended together, the couple chose a design that reflected the joining of their heritages through the use of traditional Mexican details and classic American ceremonies. A grand arch of fuchsia bougainvillea perfectly complemented the desert landscape, and the flowers were also incorporated in romantic bouquets of ivory blooms and gold, peach and orange roses. Brianna stunned family and friends as she made her way down the aisle, donning a cathedral-length Mantilla veil that was hand made by Samuel’s aunt in Mexico. To top off the ceremony space, white papel picado banners hung over the seating and raised platform where the bride and groom said “I do,” a delicate harmony to the overall vibrant scene. The elegant design of the tablescapes allowed more personal touches, such as ceramic plates—hand-painted in a deep terra-cotta color to match the fall motif—and Talavera-painted tile table numbers to truly shine. Following the traditional American timeline of celebrations, Samuel and Brianna’s loved ones dined on classic Mexican dishes before dancing the night away to the music of Banda, Bachata and Mariachi, an exquisite experience filled with love, thought and culture. —Kaitlyn Meehan

Beneath an elegant canopy of sparkling lights and lush vines, Michelle Reading and Kaid Weideman’s intimate yet opulent wedding was a tribute to all the people and moments that brought them together. Michelle’s brother first introduced the couple while both were on a trip to Arizona, and their love soon began to bloom. When the time finally came to plan their wedding day, the couple knew Arizona was the perfect location to honor both where they met and where Michelle was born. The wedding commenced at a family friend’s house in the neighborhood where Michelle grew up, adding an extra personal touch as the celebration was surrounded by family members and childhood memories. The back garden was transformed into a timeless Italian fairytale with an 80-foot floral structure adorned with deep green leaves, white petals and hints of pink. A twinkling array of string lights reflected off the pool, creating a magical atmosphere. Additionally, the wedding took place over Veterans Day weekend to honor Kaid, a naval pilot, and the many other veterans in attendance at the celebration. Kaid wore his formal uniform to the ceremony, and his service was recognized in numerous details throughout the day, like a special speech from Michelle’s father and a traditional naval exit ceremony, during which the bride and groom passed beneath arched swords held by fellow veterans. The gorgeous celebration perfectly encapsulated Michelle and Kaid’s love for their family and each other. —Jasmine Shackleford
