THE RECREATION DISTRICT

The Irmo Chapin Recrea on District was formed in 1969 to serve community members living in the Lexington County por on of School District Five. ICRC has earned a reputa on for program and facility excellence and has a racted par cipants from surrounding coun es.

Fees: Ac vity and event fees in this guide are subject to change without no ce.

Weather: Many ac vi es are held in venues that make them tenta ve based on weather condi ons. Par cipants are responsible for checking to see if games have been cancelled, delayed, or rescheduled. REGISTER FOR PROGRAMS

If you are an exis ng ICRC customer, you can register online at www.icrc.net for most programs and ac vi es. New customers need to establish an account in Xplor before registering online. Registra on is also accepted at each of the parks or by phone. Registra on is confirmed upon payment. Because many classes fill up quickly, register one week before the class date to allow me for class enrollment decisions. Registra on will be accepted as long as space is available.

ICRC Key tag Policy: Visitors to Crooked Creek and Seven Oaks Parks are required to present an ICRC key tag with associated fees for admission to open gym, fitness and weight areas, racquetball courts, walking/running track, and other unsupervised areas. Anyone age 11 and older must have a valid ICRC key tag for admission.

Cancella on/Refund Policy: Refund requests must be received no later than three business days prior to the start of the program. No refunds or transfers will be made once the ac vity has begun and certain ac vi es, such as trips and special events, define a date a er which no refunds will be made. Please check individual program requirements for guidelines. Full refunds/credits will be given if the program is cancelled by ICRC.

Physical Requirements: Unless otherwise stated, ac vi es are open to beginners and do not require previous experience. Average physical condi on is all that is needed for most programs. Please call for informa on about accessibility or concerns about physical ability required for par cipa on.

Assump on of Risk: All ac vi es, including those offered by ICRC, have inherent risks which include personal injury or property loss. Prior to par cipa on, you will be required to sign a form which acknowledges your understanding and acceptance of these risks. Parents or guardians must sign for youth ages 17 and under. You are responsible for your own safety, and you may choose to withdraw from an ac vity at any me if you feel your safety is a concern.

The Saluda Shoals Park Train

The Saluda Shoals Park Train is available for a one-hour rental with a shelter rental. All ages, capacity 15-20 riders. To reserve, call 803213-2053. Fee: $80/hour

GEOCACHING

Use a GPS to explore Saluda Shoals Park, Seven Oaks Park and Crooked Creek Park for geocaches. Coordinates for various caches are available at www.geocaching.com. $5/daily parking fee at Saluda Shoals Park.

Afterschool Programs

AFTERNOON SAFARI 2025 2026 SCHOOL YEAR

At Safari, our mission is to provide a safe, suppor ve, and enriching environment where children can grow academically, socially, emo onally, and physically. Our daily a erschool program includes a healthy snack, supervised homework me, and a variety of recrea onal and organized physical ac vi es. Children are grouped by age. Ac vi es include arts and cra s, reading, character development, and team games—offering children a fun and well-rounded experience.

On-site programs - Ballen ne Elementary, Chapin Elementary, Irmo Elementary, Lake Murray Elementary, Leaphart Elementary, Nursery Road Elementary, Oak Pointe Elementary, Piney Woods Elementary. Crooked Creek Park - Chapin Intermediate to Crooked Creek Park. Seven Oaks Park - Transporta on provided from Harbison West and Seven Oaks Elementary schools to Seven Oaks Park.

Fees: Weekly Regular - $68.10/per child per week

Weekly Reduced - $48.10/per child per week (for those who qualify for financial aid and Lex/Rich 5 full me staff Must provide qualifying documents). Fees will be charged for 39 weeks regardless of a endance. Credits are not given for missed days or weeks. Separate fees and registra on required for winter, spring break, and summer camps or full days during the school year.

THERAPEUTIC RECREATION AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

A er school care is available for students in Lexington/Richland District 5 with special needs, ages 4-21. Students must be moderately independent in all ac vi es of daily living and fit within a 1:3 student/staff ra o. $12/child per day; $60/child per week Seven Oaks Park/Crooked Creek Park. Par cipants will cheer for one of our youth league football teams. Each cheer team will meet two mes per week. Par cipants receive poms, and a cheer ou it. Games are at either 6:00 . or 7:30 and take place in Chapin and Irmo. Parents will be responsible for helping lead cheer teams.
