Hello everyone and welcome to the Autumn 2019 issue of Irish Wedding Diary, Ireland’s best-loved and top-selling bridal magazine.

As the days start to get shorter and the leaves fall from the trees, all you 2020 brides out there must be starting to feel the excitement.

2020 might have seemed a long way off when you got engaged, but it’s getting close now, and along with the excitement comes a little trepidation. When are you getting married?

I am getting married on the 27th June 2019 to my amazing partner.

Why did you want to get a boudoir photography shoot?

Initially, I didn’t feel comfortable about the idea of having my body on show, as I am a very bodyconscious person, but my amazing aunty, who is very body confident, talked me into doing the shoot, which in the end I didn’t regret. I also wanted to try the shoot for my own confidence and to feel more positive about my body.

Were you nervous on the day ?

I was extremely nervous when I arrived for the shoot, but was made to feel so welcome and comfortable with Waneska. She is amazing at her job and had me feeling so confident and comfortable in my own skin. From the moment I walked in the door, she made me feel amazing.

What did you think of the photos?

I think the photos Waneska took were amazing – she is extremely talented.

Would you recommend it to other brides?

Yes, I would definitely recommend it to other brides-to-be. It really got me out of my comfort zone, but in a good way. I came out feeling and looking amazing. .

Irish Honeymooners Splash Out

Recent research carried out by Emirates Holidays has revealed that couples in Ireland splash out 67% more money on their honeymoon (€5,985) than they do on a regular holiday (€3,580). On average, they spend 8 hours 37 minutes planning their honeymoon. The survey also found that four in five couples in Ireland visit at least two destinations during their honeymoon, and 70% of respondents said that they would love to start married life with a long trip of three weeks or more. More than two thirds of couples said they wished they had used a travel agent to take the tension out of honeymoon planning.

He thought I just didn’t want to have a drink with him but I did! I went into every shop and said I didn’t want lace and I didn’t want sleeves… and look what I ended up in! The dress had a delicate lace jacket that I took off before we entered the ballroom and it was then strapless. My good friend Louise from My Fair Lady bridal in Tullamore gifted me my belt and veil and they finished off the dress perfectly.

onan and I were friends and were both hoping to study physiotherapy in the UK. After I realised I was going to Coventry on my own, I texted Ronan to see if he would be interested in studying in the same University. He changed his original choice and decided also to go to Coventry.

We lived there together for a year and started dating soon after. We had so much fun together and fell more and more in love.

Fast forward 10 years and Ronan and I were
