SUMMER CAMP
PROGRAM OVERVIEW MILKY WAY SUMMER CAMP, under the direction of the Jersey Village Parks and Recreation Department, will bring a variety of recreation opportunities to Jersey Village and the surrounding area. Our innovative design has allowed us to offer 2 field trips per week while keeping it affordable for everyone! Registration opens February 3rd for residents and February 17th for nonresidents.
Serving children ages 7-12. Campers will be sorted into age similar groups. Cost: $250/week for residents, $300/week for nonresidents During weeks with holidays (6/19), cost will be $200/resident and $250/nonresident Want to sign them up for all 6 weeks? $1,300 for residents, $1,600 for nonresidents. Sibling discounts: $50 discount on weekly prices! Dates/Times: 9am-3pm, Monday- Friday (excluding holidays). Week 3 will be 4 days due to Juneteenth. Regular drop off is 8:45-9am. Early drop off 7:30-8:45am is $10 additional per day Late pick up is $20 for 3-4pm and $40 for 4-5pm. Past 5pm it is $15 for every 15 minutes. Duration: 6 weeks of camps will run from June 1st-July 10th. Field trip locations include: Hurricane Harbor Splashtown, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, Houston Zoo, Jumping World, Gametime Players, and several visits from animal programs. **All dates and activities subject to change**
WEEKLY OVERVIEW Early drop off is 7:30-8:45am. Regular drop off will be 8:459:00am. On the first day, campers will meet their ‘crew’ that they will be doing programs with. They will do some icebreakers as a group and as a camp. They will then jump into their activities- which vary, depending on theme of the week. Water and sunscreen breaks will happen consistently. Lunch will happen from 12-12:30pm. On days with field trips, the first round of campers will be leaving by 9:30AM. Pickup will be from 2:30-3pm.

WEEK1: SPLASH INTO SUMMER Meet, greet, take a seat, and get ready to kick off summer camp with Splash & Play week. Campers will participate in waterinspired activities, indoor and outdoor games, and teambuilding challenges as we set the tone for an exciting summer ahead.
Schedule Monday: Camp welcome activities, group icebreakers, indoor and outdoor games, team-building activities, and creative projects to kick off the week. Tuesday: Field trip to Hurricane Harbor Splashtown Wednesday: Onsite field trip: Challenge Island Thursday: Field trip to Gametime Houston Friday: Group games and friendly competitions in the morning, followed by themed outdoor activities and end-of-week fun.

WEEK2: SAFARI WEEK Campers will spend the week exploring themes inspired by nature, animals, and discovery. Activities will blend learning and play through engaging experiences that spark curiosity and encourage exploration throughout the week.

WEEK3: ENERGY EXPLOSION WEEK Designed for campers who love to move, this week focuses on high-energy fun and active play. Campers will participate in a variety of movement-based games and challenges that keep them engaged and energized indoors and outdoors.

Tuesday: Field trip to Hurricane Harbor Wednesday: Onsite field trip: Challenge Island Thursday: Field trip to Jumping World Friday: High-energy group games and friendly competitions, followed by outdoor activities to wrap up the week.

WEEK4: CURIOSITY & CREATIVITY WEEK This week highlights creativity, problem-solving, and imagination. Campers will take part in hands-on activities and games that encourage creative thinking while offering a balance of active and relaxed experiences.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Where is it located? The camp will primarily take place at the NEW City Hall/Rec Center, 16518 Jersey Drive. What does the drop off and pickup process look like? Drop off will happen from 8:45-9:15am and pickup will be from 2:30-3pm. Parents will check in with camp staff before children will be able to leave with them. Safety is our #1 priority. Early drop off is from 7:30-9am, has less than the usual 10-1 ratio of campers to staff, and does not have structured activity. What age range does the camp accept for campers? Campers must be within the 7-12 years old age range. How do I register my child for the camp? You can register your child for each week on the JV Parks and Recreation website, under Milky Way Summer Camp 2026. When will sign ups open? Signups will open February 3rd for residents and February 17th for nonresidents. Is there a resident discount? Yes, residents get a discount of $50 per week.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS What is the refund or cancellation policy? We can do full refunds until May 10th. May 10th - 15th we can do 50% refunds. From May 16th onwards, refunds will not be available. What safety measures are in place? Our facilities are only accessible to staff. We also have procedures and practices for managing risk, minimizing accidents, and doing consistent headcounts. Can field trips be cancelled? Field trips can be cancelled due to issues such as weather, facility closures, low signups, sickness, or other emergencies. Are the activities age appropriate? The activities were chosen and designed for children and young teens. Are background checks conducted for staff members? CPR training? All of our staff members have gone through background checks and are also CPR/AED First Aid certified through the American Red Cross. Are meals and snacks provided? Snacks and drinks are provided. Lunch is not provided and must be brought along by the camper. We will provide options for allergy free snacks! Are there forms that will need to be filled out prior to camp? Yes, there will be forms covering liability, medications, food restrictions, understanding pickup and drop off policy, etc.
