Senior Hurlers Extend Unbeaten Run

Mallow was the venue for the hurlers opening county championship game against Douglas C.S. Millstreet were looking to extend their five game unbeaten run from last year, and in the end, they did so emphatically. Millstreet opened up a 6 point to 1 lead inside the first ten minutes and from there they never looked back.. A brace of goals for Hugh Keane on either side of half time left a spirited Douglas side with little chance of coming back. This coupled with the fine free taking form that captain Cian Mc Caul was in on the day put the result beyond doubt early in the second half. Millstreet ran out 14 point winners on a final score line of 3-17 to 1-9.

Footballers off to a Flyer

Our under 17 footballers got their Munster championship campaign off to an emphatic start on Friday 20th of September. A sun drenched Carrigtwohill provided the venue for the opening game and M.C.S wasted no time in taking full advantage of the ideal conditions. Impressive performances from Colin Healy and Ryan Kelleher in particular kept the score board ticking over throughout and with M.C.S netting a massive 9 times during the encounter, Carrigtwohill were left with little opportunity to capitalise on their home advantage. The game ended 9-13 to 3-7 in favour of Millstreet who now move on to round two.
