Community Survey Launched for Kanturk Town Centre First Regeneration Plan

Kanurk is set to benefit from a €30,000 funding allocation for its Town Centre First Regeneration Plan. The plan aims to create a thriving, attractive hub for residents and visitors alike, fostering community growth and development. They are calling on Kanturk residents and business owners together with the wider community, to have your say in developing a Town Centre First Regeneration Plan for Kanturk.

The aim of the Town Centre First Policy is to create town centres that function as viable, vibrant and attractive locations for people to live, work and visit. The plan focuses on enhancing infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, lighting and public spaces such as parks, green areas, and recreational facilities which will be improved.

Kanturk’s rich history will be celebrated through heritage preservation efforts. Historical buildings and landmarks will be restored and integrated into the town center.

Cork County Council have launched a survey, which will remain open until Wednesday 31st of July, to gather feedback on the plan. The survey can be found at www.corkcoco.ie Printed copies of the survey are also available at Kanturk library.

Next steps will involve focused consultation with key stakeholder groups to mark the start of the plan development process. For queries, contact Cork County Council’s Town Regeneration Office at townregenerationoffice@corkcoco. ie
