Sports Clubs Receive €2.94 Million Equipment Boost!
In a significant development for sports clubs in North Cork, a record allocation of €2.94m has been allocated to support local sports clubs in acquiring essential equipment as the Equipment Sports Capital Grants were announced. This funding was announced on Thursday, May 9th, benefiting sporting organisations in the region.
Whether it’s upgrading training gear, purchasing new goalposts, or investing in safety equipment, this initiative aims to strengthen the local sports community.
The grants recognise the vital role that sports play in community development, health, and wellbeing. By ensuring that clubs have the necessary resources, we empower athletes of all ages to thrive.
Some clubs and organisations included:
• Boherbue Comprehensive€47,818
• Cork ETB Further Education Centre (Mallow) - €28,088
• Donoughmore Basketball Club - €4,528
• Dromtariffe Community Club€1,921
• Milford Community Council€2,927

Heritage Grants Approved
€44,600 in total was approived for grants under the County Cork Heritage Grant scheme. A stellar 26 projects were successful in their applications, including:
• Projects in Kanturk/Mallow MD include €2,500 for educational boards and signage at the fully accessible Crann Centre in Monymusk, Kanturk
• €300 towards the re-printing of publication regarding Heritage in Liscarroll.
