Sacred Animal Paths

 First Humans / Cro-Magnon: Prehistoric man showed animals in cave drawings as strong, fast and unsafe. The Clan of the Cave Bear

 Celtic Druids: All life is circular. Four oldest animal guides: Stag represents independence and pride. Owl embodied wisdom and change. Eagle represents renewal and courage. Salmon showed inspiration and rejuvenation. Blackbird was the gatekeeper, inner calling. Seal: card of love. Cat represented protector of the house as well as evil creatures associated with underworld and death.

 Chinese (I Ching: Book of Changes): Animals ruled over the four directions and four seasons. Black Tortoise: Winter and North. Blue Dragon: Spring and East. Vermillion Bird, Phoenix: Summer and South. White Tiger: Autumn and West.

 Egyptians: Religious ceremonies surrounded Cat, Lion, Leopard and Sphinx. Notice these all have attributes of Cat.

 Greek Astrology or Zodiac: Circle of living animals. Animals represent gods that take human shape for guidance.
