THE IGS JOURNEY CONTINUES... From schoolboys to Old Boys. Every Prep boy joins his mates on the Ipswich Grammar School journey, marking his beginning by ringing the old bell that hangs high in the Great Hall Tower. Years later, as a young man on his final school day, he will embrace his mates. Together, they will cross the Ipswich Grammar School 1863 plaque and sound the bell for the last time, transforming them from schoolboys to Old Boys, united through their shared experiences and the promise of an exciting future.
OUR PURPOSE The IGSOBA will serve IGS (including staff, parents and current IGS students) and the IGS Old Boy community by growing a well-connected and active network of Old Boys. Guided by IGS traditions, values and beliefs, IGSOBA activities and events will foster fellowship to the mutual benefit of all.

Old Boys will enjoy benefits from membership in a comprehensive, all-inclusive, connected, and mutually supportive community that adds value to all Old Boys and the School community.
1. Increase the number of Old Boys actively connected to the OB community as measured by attendance at events, social media reach and the engagement rate of the digital newsletter.
IGSOBA 5 YEAR GOALS (2022-2026)
2. Develop an annual schedule of events and activities to facilitate connection between Old Boys.
1. Increase the number of Old Boys who actively participate in the IGS community.
3. Establish a clear plan for OB fundraising and raise $10,000 by December 2022.
2. Provide a platform to facilitate easy connection between Old Boys from any era or interest area.
4. Publish regular newsletters, social media posts and website updates to keep members informed about events and activities including School activities and developments to celebrate the ongoing success of the School and its proud traditions.
3. Ensure members are kept up-to-date with news and achievements of fellow Old Boys and IGS. 4. Develop events and activities that serve IGS and IGS Old Boys in ways that are mutually beneficial. 5. Establish an Old Boys Bursary program by December 2026.
5. Seek out opportunities to further the interests of the School, including mentoring, work experience, infrastructure improvements and philanthropic activities.
