The International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF) African Regional Office (AfRO) are
opening a Call for Poster Submissions to mark this year’s World Tobacco Day. This year's (2022)
the theme is "Tobacco: Threat to Our Environment''. The aim is to raise awareness of the
detrimental effects of Tobacco on one’s health in the present day.
This year, the call for poster competition is aimed at raising awareness among the public on the
environmental impact of tobacco- from cultivation, production, distribution, distribution and
waste, to give smokers more information on the dangers associated with tobacco use to put an
immediate stop to this bad habit. Additionally, the campaign aims to expose the tobacco industry's
effort to "greenwash" its reputation and products by marketing themselves as environmentally
friendly. tobacco products on the environment as well as to educate the youths on the dangers
of the current tobacco products.
The poster competition runs from the 26th of March till 2nd May 2022.
