Call for Volunteers: Motions Committee, Scrutineers and Meeting Secretaries

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE 11TH IPSF AfRO REGIONAL ASSEMBLY TO BE HELD DURING THE 10TH AfPS IN DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA. The International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF) African regional office is calling for interested members to serve as assistants to the Chairperson of the 11th IPSF- AfRO Regional Assembly, to be held on 16th – 21st July 2022 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Regional Assembly. Assistance is needed in the form of Motions Committee members, Scrutineers, and Meeting Secretaries.

No prior experience is necessary. Training and guidance will be provided in advance.

FUNCTIONS: 1) The Motions Committee: They ensure the smooth running of the business sessions of the Regional Assembly, including presentation of motions; advises individuals on matters pertinent to the Regional Assembly; receives and revises motions proposed to the Regional Assembly; obtains and revises statements on the motions to be presented during the Regional Assembly; and reports daily on activities to the Chairperson and Regional Secretary prior to the commencement of each day’s sessions, taking into account the wishes of the Chairperson with regard to the order and conduct of business during the Regional Assembly. Official Delegates cannot serve on the Motions Committee.

2) Scrutineers: They distribute voting materials during roll call; oversee the voting procedure and examine and count the votes; distribute reference materials needed for Official Delegates before and during each Regional Assembly session; and provide audio/visual support to ensure the smooth running of the Regional Assembly. Official Delegates cannot serve as Scrutineers.

3) Meeting Secretaries: They assist with taking minutes during the Regional Assembly.
