CALL FOR THE AFRICAN REGIONAL OFFICE SUBCOMMITTEE POSITIONS 2022|2023 The International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation, African Regional Office (AfRO) is pleased to release the call for the 2022-23 Regional Office Subcommittee positions. These portfolios present an excellent opportunity for individuals to get more involved with the Regional Office and the work that it does. The positions require little traveling, but it is strongly recommended to attend the 11th IPSF African Pharmaceutical Symposium (AfPS) 2023 in Accra, Ghana, and that you attend your subcommittee meetings if one is programmed. Note : You should be able to work on a daily basis throughout the year in your position, have regular internet access, and should be reachable throughout your term. If interested in any positions listed below, kindly fill in your nomination and submit a confirmatory letter from your association CP before the deadline for applications. Please be informed that the Subcommittee members shall be appointed by the African Regional Working Group (RWG) based on merit, upon consideration of all the responses received. Therefore, put your best efforts in drafting your applications. All submissions must be done not later than Sunday, 25th September 2022, 11:59 PM GMT+0. Outlined below is a brief of the objectives and various duties under each Subcommittee: QUALITY, DOCUMENTATION AND TRANSLATION SUB-COMMITTEE (QTD) Objectives Headed by the Regional Secretary, the translation sub-committee shall be responsible for quality documentation, translating and verifying that the translation of all IPSF-AfRO documents is accurate. “Documents” are all publications, reports, minutes (including minutes of the Regional Assembly) and emails, depending on their relevance and to whom they are to be sent. The primary objective is to maintain communication and increase participation within the region and to be able to reach out to new members considering their native languages. Official languages in the region are to be English and French. Being bilingual with both languages is of great essence. Duties Duties of the Translation Subcommittee shall include: 1. Translating and, when necessary, publishing documents, signs, posters, etc. relating to the IPSF AfRO Programs and activities. 2. Arranging the simultaneous translations for conferences, workshops, seminars, etc. whenever and wherever it is necessary.


REGIONAL RELATIONS SUBCOMMITTEE Objectives The Regional Relations Subcommittee is a subdivision that presents an opportunity for individuals to work with the Regional Relations Officer (RRO) in promoting IPSF and the African Regional Office to non-member countries as well as maintaining current relationships with members through regular contact with Contact Persons (CPs) and Student Exchange Officers (SEOs). Duties Duties of the Regional Relations Subcommittee shall include: 1. To promote IPSF and the African Regional Office to non-member countries. 2. To identify existing Member Organizations within the region that need support to ensure continued membership within IPSF and the Regional Office. 3. To collaborate with the RRO in maintaining regular contact with Contact Persons (CPs) and Student Exchange Officers (SEOs). 4. To encourage and guide the formation of student leadership structures where such do not exist. 5. To source for sponsors for the Regional Office. REGIONAL PROJECTS SUBCOMMITTEE Objectives The Regional Projects Subcommittee is a subdivision that presents an opportunity for individuals to work with the Regional Projects Officer (RPO) in coordinating the implementation of both IPSF and Regional projects among Member Organizations, and to be responsible for ensuring that these projects are successfully carried out. Duties Duties of the Subcommittee shall include: 1. To initiate and develop projects corresponding with the needs of the region. 2. To promote regional projects and initiatives throughout the region. 3. To assist Member Organizations within the region with the implementation of IPSF’s projects.


MEDIA AND PUBLICATIONS SUB-COMMITTEE Objectives The Media and Publications Subcommittee is a subdivision that presents opportunities for individuals to work with the Regional Media and Publications Officer (RMPO) in developing publication materials and managing the social media platforms of the Regional Office including the website. Duties Duties of the Subcommittee shall include: 1. To work with the RMPO in developing the content and design of the Regional Office publications. 2. To coordinate all the Regional Office’s promotional mailings to Member Organizations throughout the year, and specifically before their national conferences. 3. To work with the RMPO in ensuring that the website is maintained and continually up to date. 4. To design, make and invent new and imaginative ways of promoting the Regional Office and its projects such as flyers, posters and booklets depending on the plans for the year.
