etween the towns of Piacenza and San Rocco al Porto (Lodi), Italy, the Po river is crossed by what has been defined “the record bridge”, a linear and ultra-modern bridge that has restored the connection between Emilia Romagna and Lombardy, abruptly interrupted after the old bridge had collapsed following an exceptional flood (Fig. 1). This imposing structure has been defined “the record bridge” for the planning and implementation time: three months to complete the design work, twenty days for the call for competitive bids and, finally, a few months for the building and testing.
