BY GINNI ROBERTSON, IPC MEMBER & VOLUNTEER LIBRARIAN

FALL 2023 Join a Grace Group

We hope to see you there! The 2023 Fall Grace Groups will explore the intriguing and sometimes perplexing Book of Revelation. Using Breaking the Code: Understanding the Book of Revelation by Bruce M. Metzger and revised by David A. DeSilva, each small group will delve into the rich symbolism of this important biblical text.

The John N. Lukens Library is located beside the elevator on the same level as the Great Hall. It is open and available for use whenever the church is open. The collection has books in a variety of subjects, including study of the Bible and Christianity, devotional literature, family life, music, the arts, biography, and fiction for all ages.

Just inside the entrance are display shelves containing books relating to current Church School classes, general Bible study, the history of IPC, seasonal books, and new books.

A few of the books now on display are The Bible Makes Sense by Walter Brueggeman; A Short World History of Christianity by Robert Bruce Mullin; Surprised by Scripture by N.T. Wright; Short Stories by Jesus by Amy-Jill Levine, and A Family Treasury of Bible Stories told by Roberto Brunelli.

The library uses a self-service check out system with step-by-step instructions on the bulletin board above the card catalog. Books may be kept for four weeks. If you have questions about the library, please contact the librarian at ginni.robertson@gmail.com.

Grace Groups offer an opportunity for spiritual growth and inner community connection, reminding us that you don’t have to go at it alone. Over the course of six weeks, members and friends of IPC will gather at various times and locations throughout the week, so there is a group for everyone. And if you can't find a suitable group, you even have the option to start your own.

Registration opens on Sunday, September 17

Groups will meet beginning the week of Sunday, October 8, through the week of Sunday, November 12. We encourage you to invite your friends in the community to connect with an IPC Grace Group as we explore the fascinating symbolism and deepen our understanding of God's message together.
