Thank you to Dina & Fred Leeds for hosting this evening of Solidarity and Music in their Garden Amphitheatre in Bel Air on October 26th. It was an inspirational and successful gathering. THANK YOU ALL, a special THANK YOU to our generous hosts, major supporters Lana and Jeff Melman, and Laura Cohen of JNF-USA – all funds now at Jewish National Fund-USA, designated for the Sefer Torah for the 3500 Israeli residents in the Halutza region who live on the Southern Gaza border and who have suffered brutal massacres - like Nir Oz where out of 400 residents only 140 survived, Be’eri, Shlomit – all relocated now but determined to rebuild their lives. The needs are unending. Of the $100K goal, as of today, we have raised $35,376.19. Your generosity counts. iPalpiti artists Samuel Nebyu, violinist/Hungary-Ethiopia; Jacopo Giacopuzzi, pianist/Italy; Victor de Almeida, violist/Australia-Brazil-USA; Timur Bekbosunov, tenor/Kazakhstan presented an extraordinary program of Jewish music/composers. Dedicated to the promotion of peace and understanding through music and often referred to as “Musical Peace Corps,” iPalpiti has created a network of international artists, forging lifetime associations that transcend the conflicts of our time. Over 400 extraordinary young musicians in 53 countries have been supported, presenting annual festivals in LA, and touring internationally, including Israel. The iPalpiti orchestra is scheduled to perform concerts in Eilat on February 4-10, 2024. Jewish National Fund-USA: we were there yesterday, we are there today, and we will be there tomorrow. JNF has worked in close partnership for decades with Halutza and is uniquely prepared to assist in meeting the emergency needs created by the current crisis and the real, long-term needs of tomorrow.

FESTIVAL 2023

TRIO ZADIG

Boris Borgolotto, violin Marc Girard Garcia, cello Ian Barber, piano

FESTIVAL MEMENTOS

ALUMNI WORLD`S ENCOUNTERS Violinist Boris Borgolotto has decided to open to new horizons. To explore his passion for teaching, he took a professorship at Beijing University and to pursue solo career. From Marc and Ian: For 8 remarkable years, our journey with him was nothing short of extraordinary. After returning to Paris, the Trio announced arrival of a virtuoso violinist Miclen Lai-Pang. He’s been highly praised by The New York Times as “a force to be reckoned with…” and German newspaper Die Welt as “a musician of daring virtuosity with gripping access and noble elegance”.

Trio, iPalpiti Artistic Advisor 1998-2023.

MUSIC DIRECTOR & CONDUCTOR Eduard Schmieder

Having first crossed paths at the iPalpiti Festival in 2019, it was clear from their earliest collaborations that they had a strong musical connection with Miclen. They were fortunate that he was able to step in for a few concerts over the years, and the chemistry and ease of music making was immediate. As a soloist, chamber musician, concertmaster, Miclen brings to the Trio a unique voice that will undoubtedly inspire their music to reach new heights.

iPalpiti’s “First Couple” on vacation in California, in August, with a stopover in LA:

Isabelle Weilbach-Lambelet (first violinist, Tonhalle-Orchester Zurich) and Thomas Weilbach (violist, Director of the Erlenbach Music School) met in iPalpiti in 2004, participating in LA festivals and touring to Carnegie Hall NY, Mozarteum Salzburg, Israel, and Switzerland. Here, in Hollywood Hills with iPalpiti Chairman Mikhail Gershfeld, their sons Mathis and Lucas, and Maestro Eduard & Laura Schmieder.

Jacob Shaw, cellist Denmark

We are thrilled that Jacob has won his battle with late stage very aggressive lymphoma cancer. He is back to directing his Scandinavian Cello School, working his farm and welcomed new baby girl in February, now a proud father of two.
