SPRING-

SPRING-
It has been an amazing season for the Parks and Recreation Department, marked by numerous exciting developments and achievements. This past November, we replaced two playgrounds, one of which is an inclusive playground designed to welcome children of all abilities. Additionally, we are proud to announce that our Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Master Plan has been officially adopted by the Board of Supervisors and is now available for review on our website.
Our therapeutic recreation program continues to thrive, grow, and earn recognition, with the RISE program receiving both the Virginia Recreation & Park Society Award for Best New Program and the Virginia Association of Counties 2024 Achievement Award Our special events for senior citizens remain extremely popular, with tickets often selling out quickly.
The County Fair was another success, drawing large crowds with perfect weather, fantastic facilities, exciting rides, and great entertainment. Of course, fall youth sports were as fun and exciting as always, providing memorable experiences for everyone involved
Looking ahead, we are excited for another fantastic Spring and Summer season. We hope to see you and your families at the annual Spring Fest in April. Be sure to register early in March for our summer camps, and for all our athletes, youth soccer and adult softball will be available this Spring There are also some new program offerings this season. For example, join us for the Windsor Walkers Club; a fun, social and healthy opportunity to walk throughout Windsor. Or, if you would like to enjoy games like ping pong, foosball, cornhole and board games with the family, show up for Family Game Night at the Windsor Town Center.
For all our programs and events, look for the sensory tent icon to see if it will be available. A sensory tent is a space to take a break from anything like sights or sounds that may be overwhelming you or one of your loved ones.
As always, we value your feedback to help us improve our programs and services. Whenever you participate, please take a moment to complete the surveys offered your input is crucial in shaping the future of our offerings There is plenty to see and do in this Program Guide. So, see you around the parks!
YoursinRecreation,
MikeFrickanisce DirectorofParksandRecreation
“What is a sensory tent?” A sensory tent is a space to take a break from anything that may be overwhelming you. Inside the tent is a soft place to sit, fidget toys, and a friendly face.
Do you want to know if an event will be providing a sensory tent? Look for this icon next to the event throughout this book!
