PADDY CASEY & BRIAN KENNEDY

Returning to The Whale for the first time since 2024, Greystones band Mute the TV are set to bring a rambunctious performance to the belly of The Whale. The band are Bringing It All Back Home for a raucous night of headbanging in their hometown. The band consists of brothers Elliot and Dylan Crampton, Oscar Hackett and David Heffernan. They are an independent band who record, produce and mix their music at home which gives them plenty of time to procrastinate and argue, and boy do they argue. Their latest single amassed over thirty thou-
sand streams on Spotify after being added to their editorial playlists; Hot New Bands and Fresh Finds UK & IE.
After the roaring success of A Day in the Country, Tadhg J Devery is back with a brandnew, bigger, wilder, and completely unhinged comedy show — Pints, Dentures & Rock ’n’ Roll. This time the characters aren’t just having the craic … they’re fully out of control.
Expect a fast-paced, laughout-loud night of rural Irish chaos as Tadhg brings an entire parish of walking disasters to life. From fed-up farmers and drunken plumbers to failed musicians and an undertaker obsessed with recycling the dead, nothing in this village is normal — but who likes normal!?

The Black Castle ruin stands on a rocky headland over the sea, at the eastern side of the Wicklow town
There is a fine vantage point for views over the town and the coast of North Wicklow from the ruins.
The Vikings were extremely active in the Wicklow Town area from around 795 and in 834 they plundered the Monastery at Glendalough. In the same year they fortified a strategic rocky promontory at the mouth of the Vartry River in Wicklow town. A castle was subsequently built now known as the Black Castle. There is no mention of the Castle in recorded history until 1174, following the Norman invasion. Between 1295 and 1315 the Castle was attacked and burnt down twice by the local O’ Byrne Clan.
The phrase “once in a lifetime” is thrown around a lot but this really is one! You will never get an experience quite like staying in a lighthouse dating back to 1781 with incredible views and a secret seal beach nearby.
Staying at the Wicklow Head Lighthouse is an unforgettable experience for the bucket list, with stunning sea views and a palpable sense of history. It’s a good spot for stargazing and the location will enable you to visit the spectacular sites of Glendalough, Avoca and the Wicklow Mountains. You will experience all sorts of weather, so come prepared! For more info: Tel: 01 670 4733 | www.irishlandmark.com

Why
Should have your child’s eyes tested soon!
Thankfully, serious vision problems during childhood are rare, but having your child’s eyes tested at an early age allows our opticians to diagnose and treat any potential issues as soon as possible. A child’s first eye test should take place at around three years of age. They don’t have to be able to read, thanks to special charts, shapes, picture books and other exciting materials that the optician can use instead.

Why your vehicle needs a Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Test (CVRT)
IN ORDER TO GET YOUR CERTIFICATE OF ROADWORTHINESS (CRW)
Only when you pass your CVR test, will you get your Certificate of Road Worthiness (CRW). This certificate is proof that a vehicle met a set of basic safety standards on the day it passed its test, however it cannot be regarded as a warranty as regards the condition of the vehicle. You must have a valid CRW in order to tax your vehicle. The CVRT confirms that a vehicle satisfies basic safety standards on the day the test is carried out.
WHAT THE TEST EXAMINES
Only components that are visible and accessible can be assessed at the CVRT.

Despite numerous layout changes over the years, Silverstone has always maintained its essential character as one of the fastest tracks on the F1 calendar, while historic corners like
Maggotts, Becketts and Abbey provide some of the biggest challenges for racing drivers anywhere in the world.

JUNE 29TH – JULY 12TH | WIMBLEDON
The biggest grass court tennis tournament on the planet gets underway in June 2026, the tournament remains the crown jewel of the tennis calendar, steeped in tradition and prestige.
Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka are the heavy favorites to win the Singles titles this year, the defending 2025 champion ‘Sinner’ is the overwhelming favorite. He holds a massive advantage
following the news that his primary grass-court rival, two-time champion Carlos Alcaraz, has been completely ruled out of the tournament due to a wrist injury.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will run from June 11th to July 19th, 2026, hosted jointly by Canada, Mexico, and the US.
This historic tournament will feature an expanded field of 48 teams playing 104 matches across 16 host cities.
Every four years, the world stops. Offices empty, bars fill up and Nations hold their breath. Every team will dare to dream, but there are only a select few teams that have a realistic shot of going all the way in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. France is the undeniable juggernaut going into the tournament, Spain holds
possession better than anyone on the planet, Argentina are a well-drilled unit that know how to suffer, how to counter and, most importantly, how to win ugly. Brazil now has a defensive spine worth believing in, and can let their attack off the leash. England may have got rid of their safety-first approach; will they actually play to their ability.
Joshua will face Kristian Prenga in Riyadh as he returns to the ring for the first time since being involved in a car accident that saw two of his friends so sadly killed.
The Albanian is expected to serve as a warm-up opponent ahead of Joshua’s long-touted fight with Tyson Fury.
The bout will be Joshua’s first appearance since knocking out YouTube star Jake Paul last December. Joshua’s last meaningful fight was against Daniel Dubois in 2024 when he was counted out in the fifth round. Shortly before Prenga was announced as Joshua’s opponent, Saudi Arabia’s boxing powerbroker Turki Alalshikh suggested on social media that his fight with Fury had been agreed.
All 20 of Albanian heavyweight Prenga’s wins have come by knockout, but he has yet to face an opponent in Joshua’s class.
