This works best if you cut the lawn fairly regularly but if the lawn is too long to do this then just cut in two passes, lowering the blade for the final cut.

6 Fencing, Gates, Trellis – Laying the foundation for Summer Splendor Though the chill of Winter is still with us, seizing the opportunity to mend broken structures now promises a summer garden free from distractions.

7 Planting March is a good time for sowing and planting across a wide variety of plants in time for summer.

As the spring bulbs start to fade, deadhead them and save the seed heads if you can.

Don’t strip back the foliage just yet as this will still nourish the bulbs underground right till the end.

As you prepare to plant more, this means hoeing and weeding as you prepare the ground.

Plant summer bulbs in pots and borders, plant your rose bushes and new creeper varieties. Continue pruning flowering bushes like Roses and finish off the last of your pruning early in the month before the buds start to fully appear.

Walkway @ BEYOND THE TREES AVONDALE Your journey through the forest on the Treetop Walk begins as the boardwalk makes its way out over the Avonmore River valley and as the land falls away you will soon see spectacular views from Lovers’ Lookout across the valley.

Louise has over 35 years of teaching experience and working in many different areas of the golf club industry. She trained in Stackstown G.C for a short while where Padraig Harrington was still an amateur and member there.

Louise then got the job of head assistant at Elm Park golf club where she qualified from the PGA headquarters in the Belfry.

From there Louise went on to teach in Germany at a massive golf training centre, with facilities for over 200 people practicing at the same time, 9-Hole public course and 18-Hole private members club. Here she coached along-side the national coach, where Martin Kymer was a young and upcoming talent.

She returned to Ireland to coach at the most modern high tec Swing Studio in Celbridge. From there, the GUI were keen to have her on

their team at the inception of the now named GI Academy in Carton House. Louise helped develop the Junior training programme which is still going from strength to strength.

For the last 8 years, Louise was the Head Professional of Wicklow Golf Club. One of the first women to be hired to a private members club in Ireland.

Now Louise is focusing on teaching again full-time where she gives great one to one lessons in Gormanstown Driving Range A67 X031 in Wicklow.

She is also helping other PGA professionals with their teaching

groups, where their members get great golf lessons from Louises experience. Giving her PGA peers more time to deal with Head professional duties.

Louise is also available to clubs who need a coach to mind their teams golf tuition and beginner’s programmes.

One of Louise’s joys of the job is not only to teach and get that eureka moment with her client’s but to do that in the sun! Along with business partner Killester Travel, Louise is organising tuition trips for game improvement, golf holidays with clinics and fun day trips.

She can also arrange your holiday for you by giving her a call and describing what you are looking for.

Finally, Louise has had the honour of being elected to the regional committee of the PGA, Irish region. Louise hopes to highlight the importance of all PGA professionals; how integral the Pro is at the grassroots of Irish golf within golf clubs and training facilities. “We are a small nation but have an amazing presence in both men’s and women’s tours on the global stage, and I know the grassroots PGA Pro is the reason for this extraordinary success!
