And she encouraged her husband to get a prostate screening because prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in Arkansas men. She knows that every man over 40 is at risk and that almost as many men die of the disease as women die of breast cancer. But prostate cancer can often be cured when treated early and Sarah is prepared to take care of her family. Because men aren’t the only ones who suffer. Join Sarah and safeguard your family’s health with a prostate screening today.

March 15 began as a normal day for 40-year-old Cam Deacon, a commercial real estate and finance broker with Moses Tucker Partners. When he started feeling disoriented and dizzy with tingling down his left arm, he told his wife, Lauren, something might be wrong. She knew it might be serious when she noticed his speech was slurred. His lopsided smile confirmed her fears. They rushed to UAMS, where he was quickly treated by the dedicated Comprehensive Stroke Center Team. During a three-day stay in the intensive care unit, his UAMS doctors found a hole in Cam’s heart that was likely the cause of his stroke. He’s now monitoring his heart under the care of a UAMS interventional cardiologist, grateful that he’s completely recovered from the stroke.
“A simple expression of ‘thank you’ is not enough for the extraordinary gift the UAMS Stroke Team gave me and my family. I’m extremely fortunate to have no lasting damage from this stroke, and I owe it to the highly skilled and compassionate professionals at UAMS.”
– Cam Deacon, Little Rock
