Aceh is a province known as the Veranda of Mecca, located at the northern tip of the island of Sumatra and the westernmost province of Indonesia.

Aceh has abundant potential and natural resources spread over 23 districts/cities. Each district/city offers prominent commodities suited to investors’ interest, including Arabica coffee from the Gayo highlands which is considered as one of the best coffees in the world.

Besides coffee, Aceh also has other commodities in the plantation sector such as cocoa, palm oil, patchouli and rubber. In the fisheries sector, Aceh has high quality lobsters and freshwater prawns for the world market. In addition, Aceh’s agriculture is also superior in various food crops including rice or grain, corn, etc.

Human Resource Competency

In regards to improve the Human Resources (HR) in Aceh to be more competent and competitive in the world of work, Aceh government has stipulated The Aceh Governor’s Regulation Number 28 of 2019 concerning Aceh Government Scholarships. In 2021, the Government of Aceh and the Aceh Parliament agreed to allocate a budget of Rp. 89.21 billion which is intended for all types of scholarships from the Diploma to Doctorate levels both at home and abroad with the hope that the beneficiaries of these scholarships can contribute to the region after completing their education.

Condusive Business Climate

The Aceh government opens investment opportunities to investors, both from within and outside the country, supported by a conducive business climate by providing convenience for investors in obtaining information and business permits. The Aceh government through the Aceh Investment and One Stop Services Agency continues to improve the digitization of services to achieve an efficient and transparent licensing process. Business licensing services and online non-licensing services are supported by the Online Single Submission (OSS) system developed by the Investment Coordinating Board/ Ministry of Investment, and SiCantik Cloud under the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology. The ease of online services is also effective in preventing high costs licensing process.
