ampstead Heath and the area which surrounds it is a famous London location steeped in a history dating back to Saxon times. At its centre lies Hampstead Heath; woodland and meadows extending to almost 800 acres, with far reaching views. Once home to writer DH Lawrence, artist John Constable and famed neurologist Sigmund Freud, it’s an area which still draws in creatives and celebrities alike. In the 19th century, Hampstead benefited from the arrival of the railway, and rapidly grew. In 1927, brewing magnate Edward Guinness, Earl of Iveagh saved the iconic Kenwood House from demolition and gifted it to the nation, a much-loved local landmark. » 88
