Baharash Bagherian Founder and Designer Baharash Bagherian Design Rt Hon. The Viscount Thurso Chair of the IPA Judges Having trained with The Savoy Group in London, Viscount Thurso was appointed managing director of the Savoy Group’s Lancaster 5-star hotel in Paris at the age of 27.

He then went on to lead a number of hospitality businesses including Cliveden, which under his leadership become the UK’s highest rated hotel, East Sussex National Golf Course and Champneys.

Viscount Thurso has served as a nonexecutive member on a number of public company boards and is chairman of the family company in Caithness. In 2016 he was appointed chair of VisitScotland. He was awarded a ‘Catey’ for services to tourism in 2003 and is a Fellow of The Institute of Hospitality as well as a Master Innholder. Viscount Thurso is also president of the Tourism Society.

He served in the House of Lords as a hereditary peer until 1999 and was then elected to the House of Commons as MP for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross until 2015. Viscount Thurso returned to the House of Lords in 2016 and was made a Privy Councillor in 2014.

Each project in the studio is driven by a process of investigation, experimentation and always asking ‘what if?’

The outcomes of these studies form the basis of the design.

Baharash Architecture is working holistically at all scales, designing masterplans, landscapes, buildings and interiors.

Baharash Architecture believes that great architecture is more than buildings; it’s about creating sustainable destinations which have a unique ‘sense of place’, where people feel healthy to live in, inspired to work in and want to visit. Richard Hayward Lead Marketing Manager Legrand Richard’s career in the smart home industry started in the 1990s and eventually brought him to Legrand seven years ago when he recognised the strength of the company’s product offering.

Richard has been instrumental in growing Legrand’s smart home business ever since and his passion for linking smart technology with the electrical infrastructure lives on.

Jo is widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading interior designers, noted for her confident grasp of colour, intelligent use of space and luxury aesthetic. She is also a respected public speaker, writer, design commentator, property finder and broadcaster.

Jo has been running her own interior design consultancy since 1995, taking on many high-end developments across the world, including New York, Miami, Saudi Arabia, Ibiza and London.

Stuart Shield Founder & CEO International Property Media Group Stuart graduated from Canterbury in 1981 with a degree in graphic design. He went on to work in London as an art director.

Stuart then spent three years in Spain working in international marketing before launching an overseas property buyers’ protection scheme in 1988. This led him to publish his first magazine listing Spanish property which rapidly expanded to feature properties across the world. Negotiations with some of the world’s leading airlines encouraged them to carry the magazine for their first and business class passengers.

In 1994, Stuart launched the International Property Awards.

The International Hotel Awards followed in 2011.
