LOOKBOOK Come fly with me, let’s fly, let’s fly away. To places we’ve been before and places we’ve seen before. Distant islands, nearby valleys and a venue nearly forgotten. Now that the silence is deafening, now that we are able to verse these matters, we look back before crossing the threshold and diving into next years season. Let’s take to the sky and fly over and under and through and past all that was Millennium World Cup. Come fly with me, let’s take off in the blue.

Etape 1

I’m in full denial, avoiding the obvious and postponing the inevitable. A lot has happened, a lot has changed and even more has stayed the same. From France, to England, to Germany and back again, I can’t believe we’re done again. Good things certainly do come to an end, even if we refuse to acknowledge them. If I close my eyes I can still feel the paint seeping into my skin. The early morning digging deep into my face. Both hands forcing down the net in hope of a better view and the sweat dripping from my mask and into my eye. The burning sensation forcing a cramped one eyed expression on my face, similar to the one I make whilst thinking about the end of a season. The stinging truth cutting straight to the core of me. Fortunately, I always remember which expression comes after, that I do, the one of laughter, the one I look forward to. It’s not over, it’s not finished, it’s still going, it’s never-ending.

Etape 2

Fourth in line is where Paris was at. Not first, nor third or nowhere in between. Millenniums last stop, the final frontier and birth place of this years champion is now but a mere speck on the horizon. But bear with me as we travel back to the beating heart of France. Where all was given and some was taken. Where only a few lucky and deserving ones were able to experience the happiness of stomping in the rain as they fought in the finals. Where waves of water marked our movement as conditions continued to deteriorate. Yes the rain was present, oh the rain was constant. Drowning has never looked more beautiful and that weekend we were all fighting to stay afloat.

On to a new year Through to the next season Off to a fresh start Perhaps this time your highs will hit a new low Maybe next year will be the pinnacle of your career Perhaps then your dreams will come true But keep in mind that this year was sublime that this season was a blast And that those moments will never change Let’s board this plane together, let’s soar the skies together. Mind the gap and buckle up. We are ready for take off.
