For instance, when applied in a house security system, an IoT device will check for intruders with the help of a sensor or computer vision system. Video recordings are forwarded to the cloud for verification on whether there are intruders in the house or not; this action is referred to as connectivity. The data is processed in the cloud in real-time and where there are intruders the home owner or security company is notified immediately.

The IoT Core comprises of: A device manager that allows you to set up and manage different devices through a software or console. For connections, you can utilize device authentication and identification mechanisms.

It is also possible to configure device logics and control them remotely using cloud.

A protocol bridge facilitates connection endpoint for components load balancing, HTTP and MQTT native support and storage of al telemetry to Sub/Pub. Data published in Sub/Pub is collected by Cloud IoT Core for analytics. The results can be visualized using different informational and reports dashboards offered in Google Data Studio.

To speed up or simplify the connection of different devices to IoT core, it is advisable to leverage add-ons that provision Google IoT services to allow provisioning of a wide range of devices to the right core without human intervention.
