A LIFE CHANGING GIFT

At the International School of Prague, we believe that potential is everywhere.

The ISP Scholarship Programme was created to open doors for exceptional young people for whom an ISP education would otherwise be out of reach. For 25 years, this programme has offered not only access to excellence, but access to possibility. Since its beginning, the programme has supported 49 locally based students.

Our scholars are selected for far more than academic strength. They join our community because they are thoughtful, motivated, open-minded individuals who bring new perspectives, enrich conversations, and strengthen the fabric of school life.

At ISP, scholars uncover passions they did not know they had. They pursue ambitious goals, build confidence, and discover that their voices matter. Many continue their journeys with further scholarships that support their post ISP studies, carrying forward the skills, values, and sense of purpose they developed here.

In 2025/26 we are supporting 16 scholars, including four new scholars who joined us in Grades 6, 8 and 9.

Each one has shared stories of moments that shaped them, challenges they embraced, and the opportunities that the generosity of our community has unlocked.

A LIFE CHANGING GIFT

The following pages share the voices of some of our current scholars, their growth, and their gratitude.

Through the generosity of our community:

Lev discovered creativity she did not know she possessed.

Saffiya found confidence through being truly seen.

Sofie stepped onto a global stage for her passion in science and robotics.

Veronika found a school that believes in her and encourages her to grow.

Individually, each scholarship transforms a life. Together, they transform a community.

Lev, Grade 10 Scholarship Student 2nd year at ISP

Before joining ISP, Lev was homeschooled, limited by the resources that were available. Here at ISP, her world widened. Suddenly, electives like Photography and Electronic Music were possible, subjects that allowed her to create, explore, and imagine in new ways.

Last year, Lev stepped into the world of theatre in the Upper School play ‘Ruby Moon’, taking on the role of Dulcie Doily. “It wasn’t the role I expected,” she shared, “but the whole experience was exciting.” That unexpected role became a turning point, a moment where she learned she could take risks, try new identities, and belong on stage.

Lev especially enjoys Individuals & Societies, where big ideas such as democracy, society, and history come alive. She hopes to dig even deeper into these topics, and dreams of exploring Computer Science, Language and Literature, and perhaps more.

Lev’s message to donors
“Thank you for giving me this opportunity, because ISP is giving me ideas for my future that I honestly didn’t realise were possible.”

Saffiya, Grade 9 Scholarship Student 4th year at ISP

Saffiya came to ISP not knowing how life-changing a supportive learning environment could be. Here, she felt something new: teachers who see her, guide her, and celebrate her progress. She discovered how powerful good feedback can be and how it shapes confidence and sparks curiosity.

Her most unforgettable moment was the Middle Years Programme (MYP) Showcase. Watching her parents admire her artwork and listen to the music she composed was a moment of pride she will never forget. It made her feel seen not just as a student, but as an artist.

Art remains her favourite subject, a place where skill and imagination meet. Yet Saffiya has also found herself increasingly inspired by Individuals and Societies. She enjoys discussing human behaviour, debating meaningful questions, and exploring why people make the choices they do. Psychology in particular has captured her attention, opening her mind to new ways of understanding the world and encouraging her to keep thinking long after class ends.

Saffiya’s message to donors
“Thank you for making it possible for students like me to study at ISP, gain new skills, new experiences, new opportunities. I am extremely grateful and I feel that every day I am learning something new.”

Sofie, Grade 11 Scholarship Student 3rd year at ISP

For Sofie, the most transformative part of ISP is the international community, a vibrant mix of cultures and ideas that inspires her every day. She thrives in an environment where learning challenges her and makes sense, where she can push her thinking further than she ever imagined.

One moment stands above the rest: representing ISP at the First Global Challenge in Athens, competing alongside some of the best robotics teams in the world. It was more than a competition. It was a glimpse of the global future she wants to help shape. This year, she looks forward to travelling to Panama for the First Global Challenge 2025 competition, ready to grow through new friendships, new cultures, and shared passions.

Her favourite class is Psychology, where she learns to understand the human mind in ways that feel both scientific and deeply personal. Looking ahead, she hopes to explore chemistry, biology, medicine, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical sciences, fields where curiosity meets world-changing impact.

Sofie’s message to donors

“I can’t express enough how grateful I am. My life has completely changed for the better. This scholarship has opened so many doors and helped me discover passions I didn’t know I could pursue. Thank you for believing in me.”

Veronika, Grade 9 Scholarship Student

4th year at ISP

When Veronika joined ISP, everything felt new. Modern classrooms, technology she had never used before, and a way of learning that brought subjects to life. She was even given her own laptop, something she had never had access to before, and it opened a completely new world of learning and independence. She discovered that school could be both beautiful and kind, a place where teachers help without judgment and where mistakes are simply steps forward.

Her most memorable experiences have been the 7th and 8th grade trips and Week Without Walls. This year for Week Without Walls, she chose the Mix and Match Prague programme, excited to try things she has never done before.

Veronika’s favourite subject is Individuals and Societies, a subject that helps her understand the world. She hopes to explore mathematics and science more deeply, stretching herself in areas she once found difficult.

Veronika’s message to donors

“I am very grateful that thanks to your support my education has been possible. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.”

Katerina Sukdolakova

ISP Scholar and Class of 2011

4th year at ISP

From Scholar to Global Citizen: Katerina’s Continuing Journey

Seventeen years ago, her daily commute from Prague 4 to the Šárka Valley was more than a change in scenery. It was a transformative shift in perspective. “It felt like I was travelling to a different country,” she recalled. At ISP, culture was not just studied, it was lived. Her world expanded.

“I think of the ISP scholarship as a chance to be curious, to think differently, and to design your own learning journey,” she reflected.

Her original goal was simple: to practise English and meet people from different backgrounds. But what she found was something much deeper—a community that encouraged her voice, supported her growth, and helped her see her own identity through a global lens. Even when she stumbled in her first Speech and Debate meeting, what she remembers most is being encouraged, not judged.

That early sense of belonging became a foundation. After earning her IB Diploma at ISP, Katerina went on to study in the United States, complete a Master’s degree in Switzerland, and build a career in Bern. At every step, she carried the mindset of openness, confidence, and curiosity she first discovered at ISP.

“I was given a chance to grow, to be part of a vibrant, supportive community, and to begin my international journey.”
