COMMUNITY UPDATE DIRECTOR’S UPDATE Dear Parents, There is something of a storyline in my update this week, as I am starting with a look back in time, before sharing something that aims to capture the essence of ISB now and then I share how we are creating our future. Annual Report: Every year around this time we publish our ISB Annual Report, highlighting important events of the last school year. In this edition we celebrate the purchase of land (and this is truly a monumental achievement for the school), share academic results (some of the best in the history of the school) and provide a range of other information. This will be published on Monday 6 November, and on 7 and 8 November our Board Chair (George Nazi) and I will host two community events covering Annual Report topics plus more. These will be in the Community Cafe in the Annex building, and you can register here. Showcasing ISB: If you haven’t seen it already, this week we released a new ISB video. I really like how the video focuses almost exclusively on students, and thank you to those who took part in the filming and voice overs. As the tagline says, “This is more than a school, this is ISB”. Future planning: On Saturday 21 October, the Trustees and Leadership team had a full day workshop devoted to our strategic focus as a school. Our shared commitment to educational excellence was at the center of this discussion and there was strong alignment about the range of opportunities that lie before us. In the coming month, we will be identifying a number of ‘strategic pillars’ to guide our future planning and will be seeking input from various parts of our community to help shape our thinking. I am very pleased that, together, we are moving in such a positive, forward-thinking and inspiring direction. We would like to wish all of our community a wonderful holiday next week. Kind regards,
