Westartedtheyearwithalotofgreatenergyandexcitementforwhat2024-25hasin store.LastFridaywelaunchedourStrategyPlaybook,andIhopeyouhadachanceto openthisdocumentandlearnmoreabouthowwearemovingforwardwithourplans tomakeISBanevenbetterschoolintheyearstocome
ThereisalotgoingatISB,soIwanttosharevariousupdatesandremindersinthis issue.
First, myself and our board chair (George Nazi) will be hosting two Community Meetingson26(18:00)and27September(9:00).Lastyearwasthefirstyearforthis event,andbuildingonthesuccessofthateventwehopethatevenmorepeoplewill joinintwoweeks'time Wewillprovidean‘annualreport’,discussstrategyforthe futureandwelcomequestions.Ifyouareplanningonjoiningus,pleasedon’tforgetto RSVPasthishelpsuswithourplanning.
Everytwoyearsweconductanin-depthParentPerceptionstudy,andthisSeptember weareconductingourthirdonesinceIbeganasDirector.Icanpersonallyassureyou thattheresultsarecarefullyconsideredbymyselfandtheleadershipteamThankyou tothosewhohavealreadycompletedthesurvey,andforthosewhohavenothada chancetodosoyet,pleasedoparticipateaswewanttohearfromasmanyparents aspossibleby14September.
ForthoseofyouwithchildrenintheUpperSchool,don'tforgettojoinusfortheannual BrusselsCollegeNighton25September Itisarealhonourtobechosenasthehost oftheonlyUSfocusedcollegefairinBelgium,andstudentswillbetravellingfrom throughouttheregionforthechancetomeetcollegerepresentativesinpersonand explorefuturepossibilitiesbeyondHighSchool.
Markyourcalendars.Homecoming2024,isonFriday,4Octoberandthiseventis unlikeanyother TheentireISBcommunityincludingalumnifrommanygenerations andfromdifferentplacesintheworldwillbecomingtogetherforanafternoonof sports,greatfood,andalotoffun!
IwashappytoseesomanyofourparentsoncampusforthethreeOpenHouse eventsthattookplaceoverthelastthreeweeksforMS,ES,andHSandRaiders101last week.IlookforwardtoseeingmoreofyouattheupcomingECCOpenHousenext week Beingabletodiscussyourchildrens’educationinpersonissomethingweall appreciate,sowethankyouforinvestingyourtimeandattendingtheseevents.

Our Middle School student musicians are busy preparing for the annual Middle School Music Retreat at Destelheide Education Centre, from 30 September to 2 October. Over 140 of our student artists will be spending three days collaborating, makingmusicandimprovingtheirmusicalskillsand abilities, focussing on building a deeper understanding of what it means to work in an ensemble.
OurHSthespians,musiciansanddancershavenow completedtheauditionsforthisyear’sHighSchool Musical, ‘Urinetown’, a satirical, post-apocalyptic musical about dealing with corporate greed The performanceswilltakeplaceon22and23November, withticketsalesopeningon8November

Lastweek,ourwholeGrade10startedtheirCommunityEngagementjourneywithpark clean-ups in Bois de la Cambre and Parc de Bruxelles This week our regular projects start back up and this weekend we have students volunteering at The Community Kitchen, Street Kindness project, Red Cross food distribution to families, Red Cross Maraude, Red Cross Soup kitchen, Red Cross clothes shop, Kinderdorp, Fedasil, PoverelloandVertdeTerre!
