Dear Community, Twenty years ago, ISB began with an idea shared by a group of parents: to create a school where languages, cultures, curiosity, and community could come together in a new way. Today, that idea has grown into New York City’s premier International Baccalaureate and language immersion school, and our 20th anniversary gave us an extraordinary opportunity to celebrate how far we have come. Throughout the year, we celebrated belonging, the relationships and shared experiences that make ISB feel like ISB. And our community showed up. We gathered for a magical Parents’ Night Out, an unforgettable Pecha Kucha, the launch of our ISB Treasures Raffle, and a joyous 20th Anniversary Spring Gala. Through the 20² Fund for Excellence, we also made this the most successful annual fund in ISB history. None of it happened alone. Every gift, volunteer hour, conversation, celebration, and act of participation helped make this remarkable year possible. From the Advancement Office, thank you for showing up, collaborating with us, and investing in ISB. As we look beyond our first twenty years, we carry belonging forward with an idea that has been true since ISB’s beginning: Built by Community. For twenty years, people have chosen to build this school together. The Fund for Excellence continues that tradition of bringing our community together to strengthen the ISB experience each year. Dear Community, This past school year, we celebrated our 20th anniversary as a school. With this milestone, it really feels like ISB has come of age. Reflecting on how far we have come, together with the fact that our alumni who were among our first groups of students are in now in their early twenties and making a real difference in the world, has been humbling and rewarding. As always, our collective support of ISB’s Annual Fund for Excellence provided the means for an education inspired by curiosity, care, and compassion and fortified by encouragement, experience, and, of course, community. And in this milestone year, that support reached new heights: together, we raised over $100,000 more for the Fund for Excellence than in any previous year. This is what our community makes possible when we come together to support the kind of education we want for our students. At ISB, our ambitions are rooted in the experience we want every child to have: exceptional teaching, meaningful relationships, joyful discovery, and the confidence to engage thoughtfully with the world. Reaching those goals requires more than vision. It requires a community willing to invest in that vision together. As we begin our next chapter, I am excited by what is possible. We have the opportunity to deepen the programs that distinguish ISB, support and inspire our educators, strengthen the experiences that bring learning to life, and continue building a school that prepares our students to engage thoughtfully and confidently in the world.
