Dear Friends and Family of ISB, I am delighted to share with you the 2014-2015 Report of Gifts to ISB. In our 10th year, we celebrated our past, reached important milestones, and looked toward the ISB’s future. Through our 10 for Ten celebration, we highlighted some of our favorite traditions, including our Multilingual Poetry Slam, Cultural Week, and the Spring Concert and Art Show. We also introduced new events, which we hope will continue to grow and enrich the life of our school. On Grandparents and Special Friends Day, we welcomed friends and family members into our doors to share in the ISB experience, spending a morning with our Preschool students. At ISB’s Pecha Kucha Evening, we learned about the inspirational careers of thirteen of our parents and supporters, and with each presentation, I was amazed and inspired by the rich talent and diversity of our incredible community. In the spring, we celebrated several major achievements, including receiving NYSAIS Accreditation and MYP Authorization from the International Baccalaureate Organization. Both of these represent many years of hard work and dedication, and we were thrilled to see our program receive this important external validation. Our students experienced success beyond ISB as well, with our first cohort of 8th Graders receiving acceptances at over 30 high schools and enrolling at 14 different institutions. I was proud of our students and of our school as we gathered together for ISB’s first commencement exercises, graduating our first class and welcoming them as the first members of our alumni community. That day, and every day before and since, was made possible thanks to our incredibly committed faculty, administration, and Board of Trustees; our engaged student body; our supportive parents and friends; and our many generous donors. Please enjoy reading this report and sharing in our continued growth and many successes. Sincerely,

Rebecca Skinner ISB Head of School and Co-Founder

Dear ISB Families and Friends, I will never forget standing in the beautiful new gym in ISB’s North Building with so many of ISB’s parents, teachers and friends, all of us celebrating how far our school has come since its church basement founding. 2015 was a landmark year for ISB. Not only did we receive full accreditation from both the New York Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme, we also expanded our school’s campus and celebrated our ten-year anniversary! It is thrilling to see our community coming together to celebrate ISB’s many achievements but also to support the school’s work toward sustaining our top-notch language immersion IB program in New York City. This year, we have launched a crucial Capital Campaign to fund the North Building renovations and to put into place necessary upgrades in the West Building. The Board of Trustees is honored to serve the school as leaders in this Campaign, and we thank all of the families, staff, and friends who have already leant their financial support. We now invite all of you to join us in reaching our Capital Campaign goal of $800,000. We are halfway there! Every year at ISB, we also rely on your generosity toward the Annual Fund, which provides critical funding for technology, field trips, professional development and other important opportunities for ISB children and staff. All who are part of ISB recognize the vibrancy and diversity of our beloved community. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, thank you for your continued support of ISB. Warm Regards,
