Passion for Projects Founded in 1989, Interna is an Italian industrial group, leader in the sector of the contract furnishings worldwide. It operates within the high-end market and stands out for excellence in products and services and for a solid international management. Interna develops and manages all-encompassing turnkey furnishing projects with supply of ad hoc designed furniture, cooperating with prestigious interior design studios and renowned purchasing companies, appointed by the client for each single project. More than three decades ago Interna began its activity within the hospitality sector where it holds today a position of excellence with a reference list of hundreds of terrific projects, implemented all over the five continents, unique for their historic or artistic value. Starting from 2005, thanks to the technical and managerial experience acquired over the years, and to the constant cooperation with major hotel chains, prestigious designers and respected international purchasing companies, Interna expanded its range of activities, addressing other contract sectors such as luxury residential, retail, marine, corporate and wellness. Interna turnkey includes internal building works, finishes and decorations, as well as fixed and loose furniture for indoors and outdoors. Its scope of work spans from the executive planning to the production of all fixed and loose components of the project, from logistics to installation on site, from final testing to post sales assistance, always in accordance with quality, prices and deadlines agreed upon. Interna products are created ad hoc for each single project: they can be produced exclusively upon client’s design or selected from Interna own collections and customized in terms of finishes and materials, so to suit the cultural genius loci of the client. With a dedicated team and hundreds of persons working in linked companies, Interna offers today its services to large international investors who want to create prestigious furnishing projects, characterized by unique design and by a often complex management due to the dimensions of the project, the specificity of the products, the ever-pressing deadlines and the particular locations. To date, Interna has implemented more than 500 exclusive turnkey projects all over the world.

History celebrating

30 years

We started from the high-end … The history of Interna starts with a gamble: that of operating on the high-end of the market, far away from the low-cost labour competitors of the Middle and Far East. Its founder, Diego Travan, shaped himself professionally within a company operating in the luxury hotel segment and, when starting Interna in 1989, brought with him his personal experience, a network of connections, know-how, relationships with suppliers, and a brand new mentality that found in globalization the motivation for success.

1989-1993 | Beginner’s luck: Interna meets Hyatt The first project is of international rank, the Hyatt Regency Belgrade in the former Yugoslavia. A five star hotel which would prove to be the lucky charm of Interna, being renovated three times by Interna, and establishing first contact with the Hyatt chain, for which Interna has implemented to date more than forty projects. Beginner’s luck is a good start, but the Gulf War in 1991 had catastrophic consequences for the tourism sector and numerous projects were put on hold, resulting in a decrease of turnover. However, crisis can also bring opportunities, and the difficult moment was overcome thanks to the trust of Hyatt, that awarded to Interna in 1992 and 1993 two significant projects: the Hyatt Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris and the Hyatt La Manga in Murcia, Spain.

1993-1997 | Relocating & renovating In 1993 Interna moved to larger headquarters in Tavagnacco, a more suitable location for the company requirements. It then started to develop, slowly but steadily, the business management that would become, along with organizational structure, the essential element for the growth of the company. Increasingly important projects were implemented and the field of activity widened to encompass more complex turnkey contract activities. In the period 1993-1997, Interna successfully completed projects in Japan - Hyatt Regency Osaka and Grand Hyatt Fukuoka, in Greece - Regency Casino Thessaloniki and in Australia - Crown Towers Melbourne. This period also saw the beginning of investments in the PR and communication sector, printing the first portfolio and beginning the brand development.

1997-2000 | Speaking German: Interna conquers Germany From 1997 till 2000 the company put down roots in Germany which for many years was its main market. A market that, thanks to the reunification and rebuilding of the DDR (former East Germany), was highly attractive, but required precision, impeccable service, punctuality and management capabilities. Germany brings to Interna a series of successes: the Grand Hyatt Berlin for the Daimler Benz, the Westin Grand Hotel Berlin, the Park Hyatt Hamburg, a huge and financially demanding project, and the Hyatt Regency Köln (where Interna completes in only 15 days the fit out of the Presidential Suite, completely renovated on exclusive design, to welcome President Clinton for the G8 of 1998). 2000 is the year of the Ritz Carlton Wolfsburg, designed by André Putman for Volkswagen, followed by the Radisson in Hannover, the only hotel located within the world Expo 2000. The German projects, all significant, with high quality standards and complexity at technical and managing level, shaped the team and enriched the company with noteworthy references.

2000 | The most beautiful hotel in the world: Villa Feltrinelli In 2000 Interna took part in the tender for the project of the Grand Hotel at Villa Feltrinelli on the Garda Lake and wins against noteworthy competitors. The investor Bob Burns, tycoon of the international hotel sector, chose Interna over them, considering it the most suitable company for the implementation of an incredible turnkey project: 2000 different items, 20 suites, all different from one another, the most refined and complex finishes, and quality standards up to excellence level. Herbert Hypma, the most renowned journalist of the international hotel sector, on the Times described the Villa as the most beautiful hotel in the World.

… then moved UP to an even higher level…

2001-2003 | Interna at the dawn of the new millennium: ethics and quality The destruction of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York on the 11th September 2001 caused all projects to be immediately put on hold. This led to a turning point for Interna, that since the end of the nineties had been hampered by competition from low quality foreign contenders. Interna were presented with a crossroads. To combat the decrease of orders and the concurrent increase of competitors located in countries with low labour costs, there were two options: either keep on fighting at a price level only, with consequential and necessary productive delocalization. Or, keep on fighting for a Made in Italy production, focusing on quality, services and innovation.

The choice was Ethics and Quality: the company is endorsed with the ISO 90001 (Quality), the ISO 14001 (Environment) and the SA8000 (Ethics) certifications; the company focused on the high-end of the sector with increasingly demanding projects with a higher degree of technical and managing complexities. This period saw also the launch of the research and development department, the company investing in know-how, technology, human resource and communication.

2003 | Taking off It was a winning strategy as it allowed the market to acknowledge Interna as being capable of making the difference on the global market. From then on the most incredible and prestigious projects were implemented with great success on the five continents. And, in order to differentiate, Interna entered different sectors such as the marine, luxury residential, high-end retail and spa & wellness. Interna thereafter was awarded mainly with projects exclusive in every possible style and context, all unique for their design, architectural, historic or artistic value; challenging both technically and technologically, embodying new concepts of luxury. Interna faced also, with humility and determination, increasingly ambitious challenges, like the complete fit out, being the prevailing request of the clients.

… and then differentiated some more to meet new demands…

2005-2010 | The family grows: new brands, new perspectives New solutions are called for to meet the ever changing demands of the growing hospitality sector, and Interna decided to meet them by launching a set of new brands. In 2005, Interna creates its first ever line of highly customizable furniture for the contract and hospitality sector: Interna Collection was born. And a year after it is time to include the office furniture in its proposal: Interna took over Logica, a well established company that offers one-off furnishing solutions and design collections for presidential, executive and operative spaces. Just a few more years and Interna was ready to expand even more, looking into a totally different sector, and from this a new company was born: Interna Real Estate, offering a complete package of services to conceive and execute any real estate project, especially in the hospitality sector.

2010-2018 | The world is our oyster: the sister companies In less than ten years Interna establishes four sister companies abroad, with the same mission, vision and values of the Italian ones: to offer its clients a worldwide, 360° service to implement stunning projects with the highest quality standards, within the established budgets, respecting human beings and labour laws. In 2010 Interna Asia-Pacific was born, followed by Interna France and Interna UK in 2016, and Interna Singapore in 2018.

In 1989, 30 years ago, we had the ambition, with nearly no money, no support whatsoever, armed only with passion, courage and perseverance, of creating from scratch a company that would become an international reference point for the implementation of high-end furnishing contract projects. And today we are still here with the same passion, courage and perseverance, with so many ideas, plans and dreams. Humbly, with the feet well planted on the ground, we are aware that, although much has been done, much remains to be done: to grow and improve and to face each challenge this ever changing world throws at us.

Philosophy Among the various challenges humanity and industry have to face due to the globalization and the continuous changes of the modern world, the most relevant is to find a balance between profits and growth on one side and justice and social equity on the other. Interna has worked, since the beginning, on a globalized market and thus has faced the international competition. Its clients are global brands of the tourism and fashion sector and usually its competitors are located in countries with low labour costs. Since 1989, the year of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the beginning of the globalization phenomena, Interna faced a dilemma: increase the profits by outsourcing the production in countries with low labour costs and little attention for human rights or balance the growth and profits of the company with its social function and instead be regarded as a social good, from which all the community where it is located should benefit. Choosing the second option came naturally, in tune with the entrepreneurial philosophy that goes against many of the current market and economic trends of this sector and, more generally, of the Italian economy: a solid management system with extensive autonomy given to the managers of each division; high quality production at competitive prices through efficient management of manufacturing cycles rather than through the use of cheap labour; permanent contracts for employees: a human resources management policy that foresees no short-term temporary contracts, employment of young people at their first work experience and placement of women in managerial roles; weightless company with investments not in material assets but in information and technology, research & development, know-how, staff training and human resources.

Certifications Big turnkey projects have a major environmental and social impact which means manufacturers should be called upon to follow strict polices regarding the environment and employment. Interna has always been sensitive to the issue of fair and sustainable growth. Through its integrated certified system QUALITY ISO 9001 | ENVIRONMENT ISO 14.001 | ETHICS SA 8000, Interna works to ensure that the process of globalisation is carried out in full recognition of human rights, international labour laws and environmental protection.

Divisions In the sector of luxury furniture each different location calls for an extremely specific know-how and technological equipment for manufacturing the special furniture, items specifically designed to add to the uniqueness of the ambience and to suit the final scope of the place they will furnish. This is why Interna established dedicated divisions where its best skilled project managers team up with its most qualified specialists and technicians working with the client’s designers to handle with dedication and passion the complexity of each and every single project, ensuring the final result an absolute success. The Hospitality Division was established when Interna itself was established, back in 1989. The sector of the hospitality contract is an industry where investments are enormous and nothing is left to chance. Every detail is meticulously studied and reflects precise philosophies and rules that must take into account: security in the first place, but also maintenance, durability, functionality and aesthetics. Interna’s hospitality division ensures high quality standards for products which comply with the regulations of each target country and optimizes the production processes in order to make the costs fall within predefined budgets. It supplies solid products capable to bear any kind of stress. These are functional products, suitable for industrial use and maintenance, but with a pleasing aesthetic exterior. The Spa & Wellness Division supplies the furniture - millwork and loose - with the most appropriate characteristics as to be suitable for all kinds of wellness and fitness environments, paying particular attention to the selection of metals, woods and any other kind of materials all of which are treated to resist water, dampness and heat, while respecting strict health & safety rules, without impacting the aesthetics.

The Retail Division focuses on the supply of high quality furnishing solutions for prestigious clients worldwide, implementing either individual and exclusive boutiques or projects whose design is based on a strong, identifiable concept that can be reproduced everywhere, but is still flexible enough as to easily be adapted to buildings with vastly different layouts. The Marine Division requires completely different analysis and techniques as to combine aesthetics with functionality and safety rulings, not only complying with project specifications, but also submitting to strict international marine regulations, in particular to those related to the fireproofing and weight of each single item installed onboard. Furthermore, careful selection of materials, special installation procedures, respect of ecological and health & safety regulations must also be taken into consideration. The Residential Division is the one which mostly deals with unique personalities and emotions and the rules governing the hospitality sector do not apply here. Great emphasis is given to personalization, with unique pieces of furniture, special inlay work, hand-painted pieces, engraved sections, unusual shapes, precious materials and the most difficult finishes as to materialise the architect’s concept and the client’s desire.

Over the years, Interna Financial Department has acquired a wealth of experience, so that it can support clients with different financial solutions.

Project management Project managers at Interna are the client’s main point of contact throughout the execution of a project. They plan and monitor every stage of the order, coordinate the activities of the different company departments and make sure that for each project the three fundamental objectives are achieved: the respect of agreed technical specifications and quality standards, delivery terms, and budgets.

Engineering All turnkey projects are based on comprehensive and detailed engineering for each and every item. A team of experienced architects, designers and other specialists work on the executive planning, and meticulously create detailed shop drawings for each individual piece of furniture. This phase includes the final selection of finishes and production methods, the analysis of the final use and maintenance of each item, an accurate evaluation of logistics and installation. All this allows for the creation of the final shop drawings which will be used for the purchasing of all components and the production of the items. Key design criteria are: functionality, quality of materials, sturdiness, aesthetics, respect of the various national technical norms and streamlined production to optimize costs. Hence, these elements are always in mind during the continuous coordination between the architects and the other product specialists in Interna. The shop drawings are then discussed with the client, the interior designer and all the parties involved to ensure perfect coordination with the progress on site and the installation works.

Production | Quality control Over the years Interna has built up a solid productive know-how and can now guarantee flawless quality at highly competitive prices. The large scale production is implemented with cutting-edge machinery and the implementation of the latest technologies whilst small quantities or single pieces are handmade upon design by Italian craftsmen with the highest quality standard. Rigorous quality controls are carried out by Interna specialists throughout all the phases of production to monitor each partial outcome and to ensure that each final piece is crafted to perfection.

Logistics The Interna Logistics Department is able to select the best carriers and the most appropriate means of transport to optimize delivery times and costs and to meet the client deadlines. All transportation conforms to international security and sanitary rules and to procedures for the carriage of wooden materials and products, as well as to the highly important protection procedures against moisture, high humidity or excessive dryness.

Complete fit out | Installation Interna guarantees, with a team of specialized workers, the complete fit out and installation of the furnishings as well as all the works associated with the completion of the internal finishes to ensure the flawlessness of the final result. A team of site managers, whose job is to direct and coordinate the contracted work, guarantee that the items ordered are installed properly and the schedules agreed with the building supervisors are adhered to, ensuring a smooth cooperation between Interna and any other companies that could possibly be present on site.

After-sales assistance Interna grants for the products supplied a warranty for a period that is contractually agreed for every single project. Moreover, Interna is ready to offer post sales assistance for each project executed, well after the warranty period has expired, to grant the client the most convenient price and conditions. This service includes the maintenance, refurbishment and/or replacement of custom-made or standard obsolete products.

Interna Italy’s team coordinates the 100% Made in Italy satellite activities and supports and supervises the works of all the foreign sister companies. Interna, above all, aims for product excellence conveyed through the use of selected raw materials and an accurate tailor made workmanship. With a dedicated department, it carries out a constant and regular activity of research and development, studies new materials and their manufacturing processes; Interna Italy also analyses the innovations, changes and trends of the contract sector related to all its divisions, to make of each single project a success.

INTERNA ASIA PACIFIC Italian charm in Asia

Interna Asia Pacific, based in Shanghai, coordinates since 2010 the complex activity of turnkey furnishing projects for the niche luxury market in the Far East. With a team of technicians and project managers, both Chinese and Italian, who earned their spurs with many years in Interna Italy, it acts both as a contractor company, with 100% Chinese production and as trait-d’union between the client and Interna Italy for 100% Made in Italy projects.

INTERNA FRANCE L’aptitude au luxe

Interna France, based in Paris, meets the requests of the French market that asks for world-class services and the quality of the Italian manufacture for the implementation of luxurious hospitality projects in Paris and all over the country. Since 2016, a second unit has been based in Saint Nazaire, managed by technicians and project managers, who learnt the trade with many years in Interna Italy. It is specialized in providing turnkey solutions for the naval sector, engaging in the supply of large cruise ships projects, combining aesthetics with function and safety.

Interna UK, established in 2016, combines Interna’s traditional Italian soul with the international and British heritage of Central London, managing high-end turnkey furniture projects within the UK and worldwide. The office in Clerkenwell is the base of operations for prototype review, finish samples development and selection, and a melting pot for new ideas, providing continuous assistance to those clients in the UK who require charming design, the excellence of Made in Italy manufacture and the effectiveness of a world-class technical service.

INTERNA SINGAPORE A door to Southeast Asia

Interna’s presence in Singapore with its own company, Interna Singapore, started in April 2018, even though over the years Interna had implemented various projects in the country within the high-end residential, hospitality and retail sectors. It offers to the Southeast Asia luxury market the excellent manufacturing of tailor-made items, produced, as per client choice, in Italy or at the production facilities located in Asia and supervised by technicians and project managers who earned their stripes with many years in Interna Italy.

The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park Hotel is one of London’s most celebrated five star hotels, which exudes an exciting mix of elegance and luxury. Following a multi-million pound renovation, it offers a fashionable and timeless location complete with world-famous restaurants and a stunning spa in the heart of the British Capital. Interna was responsible for executing the millwork and loose furniture for all of the guestrooms, suites and bathrooms upon design of London-based designer Joyce Wang who specified some of the most spectacular finishes for this impressive work, executed with the highest quality standards.

Each room has different dimensions and a different set up, so millwork in each room is different and the loose items are produced as single one offs.

In 2016 Interna was called to take part in the tender for the supply of furniture for the hotel and in September of that same year it signed a double contract. The first was to provide wardrobes, libraries, minibars, vanities and part of the decorative wall panelling of the guestrooms and suites with Vinci Constructions Grands Projets. The second was directly signed with the Mandarin Oriental to provide all the loose upholstery for the same areas, such as sofas, sofa beds, vanity chairs, bed-end benches, lounge chairs and decorative fireplaces.

Joyce Wang Studio selected very refined finishes for this project, such as madrone Burl veneer, silver stained oak, Portoro, Tavertine, Noir, Saint Lauren and Blue Palissandro marbles, brushed brass for the peculiar curved structures of the sofas, powder coated metals for the vanities and very elegant and complex to create fluted glass and acrylic panels, both flat and curved ones. This project was the fourth project for Interna and the Mandarin Oriental collection, a collaboration which had started with the group’s first ever hotel in Europe, opening in Paris in 2011 and then continued with the hotels in Geneva and Milan in 2012 and 2015.

The project, with its impeccable quality, is the tangible result of the outstanding interaction, both in terms of production and management, of Interna Italy and Interna Asia Pacific. The scope of works of Interna included the complete fit out, under the design direction of Ms Laleh Amirassefi, of fixed and loose furniture for the public areas and the guest rooms. In detail Interna supplied: for the public areas: bar counters, armchairs, lounge tables and chairs, coffee tables, wooden and hand painted fabric boiseries, fitted walls and magic mirror TV sets vanities, mirrors, decorative doors and portals, waiter stations, glass and wooden cabinets, niches and benches, dining tables and chairs, folding screens with built in herbarium; for the spa and wellness centre: reception desk and cabinetry of the treatment rooms; for the guest rooms: bedheads, minibar, screens, cupboards, vanities and mirrors.

The Crowne Plaza Albert Embankment is a luxury business hotel located in central London, on the River Thames, and represents a new brand launched by the Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts to remain at the forefront of the new way of doing business, with design-led, culturally-relevant and technology-enabled solutions. Launched in May 2018 upon exclusive design of the renowned ID studio RPW of London, it is the first luxury hotel to open in the Albert Embankment area, central London’s latest area of revitalization, which includes a whirlwind of high profile residential developments. The jewel of the crown of this project is the chic sky terrace on the 14th floor, with inspiring panoramic views of the River Thames.

For this super stylish hotel, Interna was called to supply the loose furnishings for lobbies, restaurants and bars, sky terrace included. Sofas, chairs, armchairs, tables, casegoods were all one-off items, produced with the highest quality standards using the most refined and precious materials. Reflecting the surrounding skyline, the design is a mix of sophisticated blue hues along with copper and other metallic tones to complement the open fires, the floor to ceiling windows, the expansive wine and spirits collections, the shisha and cigar terrace and the soft, sumptuous seating.

On the Athens Riviera, just 30 minutes away from the historic city centre, the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel is a laidback escape immersed in the pine-clad peninsula of Lemòs. Established in 1960, the hotel has recently undergone a restyling under the creative direction of the Meyer Davis design studio that mixed modernist architecture with clean lines and a stylish retro-chic design to bring back the historic glamour of the original Astir Palace. Glamorous and refined, the Astir Palace presents a palette of colours that evokes the serenity of the seaside, with a clever mix of whites and beiges that perfectly frame the beautiful Greek landscape surrounding the resort. For this idyllic seaside escape, the first ever Four Seasons in Greece, Interna was called to supply indoor and outdoor loose furniture both for the Arion and the Nafsika, the two hotels which are part of the resort: sofas, desk chairs, coffee tables, dressers, minibars, nightstands, consoles, headboards, bar cabinets, dining tables, armchairs, ottomans, media cabinets, and lounge chairs, both for the guestrooms and part of the public areas, were all produced with the utmost attention to every single detail and the highest standards of quality.

The Six Senses Duxton is located within a row of traditional trading houses in Singapore’s colorful Chinatown and has been restored in 2018 following the design of the renowned British designer Anouska Hempel.The hotel offers guests a luxurious and sophisticated experience in a setting that is an ingenious mix of Chinese, Malay and European elements. For this rare pearl of Singapore Interna Asia Pacific was called to supply fix and loose furniture for the public areas as well as for all the rooms and suites. Hard Rock Hotel London, located nearby the famous Hyde Park, on the Marble Arch corner, is a dream hotel for music lovers. A tribute to former residents such as Jimi Hendrix, DianaRoss, Bob Dylan and Buddy Holly, this hotel is a mix of elegance and rock’n’roll, with original artwork, refined furnishings and an unbelievable memorabilia collection on display all over the hotel. Interna has been called on to work for the public areas: the lobby-hall with its restrooms and the cocktail bar with the back bar, where it completed all the millwork, including the counters, the ceilings, the complex metal tube installation, the niches, the vanities (including the mirrors). This work also included all the display cabinets for the memorabilia, like the one dedicated to Freddie Mercury, containing his piano. Precious marbles, sparkling mirrors, back lit and back lacquered glass, along with the warm tones of walnut and brass were the main finishes selected for this project by the Scott Brownrigg studio, all of which were carefully handled by Interna to create items respecting the highest levels of quality.

This unusual décor that covers the walls and the ceiling of the main entrance area is characterized by a three-dimensional modular structure made of satin brassplated steel tubes that with their intersections create a backdrop for other furnishing elements, such as metal panels, mirrors and light up screens which, with a array of shapes and sizes, create a play of lights, colours and reflections that gives to this area a stage-like effect.

Grancaffè Quadri Venice Italy

The Quadri, a heterogeneous historic 18th-century Grancaffè and restaurant in the San Marco Square in Venice, owned by the Alajmo family since 2010, reopened its doors after a major restoration in 2018. The transformation uncovered the original magic of the place in a romantic and slightly surrealist atmosphere imagined by the French design icon Philippe Starck. The Grancaffè Quadri is located in one of the lowest parts of Venice and the water that enters with each tide leaves its mark on walls and furniture. Rather than fight the inevitable, Starck decided to highlight the effects of the high tides by selecting metals that will oxidize and change colour over time and therefore reveal, through each changing tide level, the pulse of the city. Interna was called to perform in the restaurant located on the upper floor and not affected by the water, supplying the benches, throne-like seats upholstered with a refined and precious embossed leather, a unique and luxurious work implanted with the highest standards of quality. Interna had already worked for the Alajmo family in 2016, implementing turnkey, upon exclusive design of Mr Starck, AMO, a mysterious and elegant café located inside the Fondaco dei Tedeschi on the Canal Grande. Interna cooperation with Philippe Starck is a long-standing one that includes the Mama Shelter hotels in Lyon and Marseille and the La Corniche hospitality project in Pyla sur Mer.

Built in 1857, the Raffles Europejski Warsaw has been, through out its history, the city’s creative heart. Upon design of the WWAA and Lazaro Rosa-Violan studio Interna supplied for this neorenaissance palace the loose furniture for the 106 elegant guest rooms and suites. Desks, coffee tables and TV units were produced with the most refined materials and the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality. Along with the one-off custom made items, the bar tables for the public areas were selected from Interna own collections.

Symphony & Harmony of the Seas The Symphony of the Seas and the Harmony of the Seas, with 227 thousand tons, are two of the biggest cruise ships ever built, part of the Royal Caribbean Cruise fleet. Interna has been part of these magnificent projects, supplying the turnkey fit out of the interiors of many of the public areas of these two giants of the seas, such as the restaurants Vintages, Chop’s Grill, 150 Central Park, Jamie’s Italian, Park Cafè and Johnny Rockets along with part of the retail areas. Interna manufactured and installed all the items in compliance with the highest standards of production, with painstaking attention to each single detail and respect of the somewhat rigid naval regulations. The business relationship between STX-Chantiers de l’Atlantique and Interna, started in 2014, lead to the successful launch of three huge cruise ships in the first four years and foresees eleven more vessels within 2026.

The Viking Ocean Cruises commissioned to Fincantieri in 2015 a new fleet of oceanic cruise ships, small vessels conceived for high-profile, exclusive and wealthy clients who require the highest levels of design, comfort and service on board. The interior design, jointly signed by London-based SMC Design and Rottet Studio from Los Angeles, - similar in the 4 twin vessels in terms of spaces, but exclusive and unique in each of them as for colours and finishes-, expresses a sophisticated and contemporary elegance well combined with functionality. Interna has been called to work on a turnkey basis on the four twin ships Viking Star, Viking Sea, Viking Sky and Viking Sun. In detail it worked on Deck 2 (multifunction theatre and dressing rooms, theatre lobby bar, cinemas starboard & port, theatre stores, broadcasting office, entertainment lounge, the street, fashion retail & jewellery, stores), Deck 7 (explorer lounge, owner suite & balcony, owner suite sauna, buffets & stores), Deck 8 (explorer lounge). Interna supplied fixed and loose furniture, taking care of every little detail as to meet the requirements of a very demanding clientele, always in accordance with the highest quality standards and with the strict naval legislation regarding safety, health and fireproofing, creating also a special soundproofing for the theatre and cinemas areas.

Interna UK was awarded the supply of casegoods both for the guestrooms and suites and for the lobbies: nightstands, wardrobes, side and occasional tables, desks and consoles were produced with the highest quality standards, implementing technical measures to prevent sea water corrosion and with primeval yet refined materials and colours that evoke the sand and the sea, such as rough woods, bronze, stones.

Bellissima & Meraviglia Flagships of the MSC Cruises, built at the STX shipyards, now Chantiers de l’Atlantique, in Saint Nazaire, the Meraviglia and the Bellissima are megaships that boast an incredible detailed design that lives up to their names. For these queens of the sea, Interna France supplied, upon exclusive concept of Tillberg Design, a complete turnkey with full fit out - planning, assembly and final check - of floors, walls, ceilings and all the furniture for the Cafeteria, 4.000 square metres open 20 hours per day with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the sea and open style kitchens. As the first two vessels of four, the Meraviglia and the Bellissima are the first of their class and the biggest of the whole fleet.

Vista is the largest ship of the Carnival corporation fleet. With its 15 bridge, it offers a 360 degree sea view, plus unique entertainment and relaxation areas. The agreement between Interna and Fincantieri envisaged the turnkey implementation of the Upper Promenade, Photo Gallery, Ocean Plaza, Shake Bar, Taste Bar, Fun Hub Café & Green Room, Red Frog Pub, Annex & Terrace, whose design was created by the German studio Partner Ship Design. Located within the Fondaco dei Tedeschi, new sanctuary of Venice luxury shopping, AMO is the place for true gourmets, a meeting point between Michelin three-star cuisine and the design of the French maestro Philippe Starck. The Amo opened in 2016 and Interna was in charge for the Patisserie and Courtyard areas, both implemented turnkey upon exclusive design. The first area included the cabinet, the counter with its back wall unit and the large refrigerated display cabinet, while the Courtyard area included the island bar, the workstations, the metal cabinets and the benches with built-in lamps.

The interior design is strongly characterised and communicates the Venetian spirit with every detail: the black damask leather sofas are inspired by the lacquers of the gondolas, the glass details are forged by Murano master glass blowers, the counters are made of precious backlit marble to evoke the water reflections of the lagoon and the decorated walls recall the Venetian Carnival. Furthermore, the numerous details in stainless steel, gold, copper and bronze, cleverly displayed, provide sophisticated and elegant notes. Interna supplied and installed 100% Made in Italy furniture, produced in accordance with the highest quality standards and all relevant safety regulations.

The green room of the historic Bar Cavour in Turin, cocktail bar of the Del Cambio Restaurant, is a private room with a discreet and relaxed charm with Piedmont’s nineteenth century suggestions. Everything is in moss and emerald shades, from the wallpaper to the furniture, enhanced by smooth and refined velvets and damasks. The atmosphere is voluptuous and the lights skilfully emphasize the warmth and comfort of the environment. Interna has been called to supply the loose furniture selected from its own collection Les Grands Classiques de Jacques Garcia, produced sartorially with ad hoc finishes and a selection of high-end textiles.

Located in a prime position in the heart of Nairobi business district, on top of the hill stands the brand new Radisson Blu Hotel Upper Hill. The ID project is the work of the Swedish studio Christian Lundwall Architects from Gothenburg, who gave the spaces a refined European flavour, skilfully mixed with touches of local influences. The use of specific colours, of African tradition artwork, of characteristic coating materials, offers a hi-tech and global luxury, but with local comfort and taste.

Interna was entrusted with the complete fitout of the whole structure, and, in less than a year following an exclusive design, implemented all fixtures and furniture for the interior and exterior areas of the hotel. The items provided included doors, lamps, curtains, rugs and artwork, in addition to essentially civil works such as laying of floors, construction of non-structural walls and ceilings, installation of wood panelling and wallpapers, tiling, paintworks etc. In detail Interna completed: public areas at ground floor (lobby, lounges, indoor & outdoor bar, restaurants, terrace ballroom, pool areas); public areas at first floor (meeting rooms, business centre, terrace); guest room floors (rooms, corridors, lift areas, lobby, atrium); 271 guest rooms and suites; 8th floor executive lounge.

Interna signed an agreement with Brera GmbH for the turnkey implementation of a series of serviced apartments, penthouses with a unique new concept. They are independent apartments in various sizes but all rather small, located in major German cities with an attractive design, to be let for medium-long periods, with the opportunity to use the public areas that offer multiple services. The Brera concept was developed by the London-based ARA design studio in partnership with Interna, to be functional for the modern life and to integrate the latest technology within design spaces with high quality standards. The contract provides for a turnkey supply that includes laying of floors, doors and toilets, kitchens, millwork and loose furniture, curtains, artwork, mirrors, lamps and accessories. The structures completed are the ones in Munich and Frankfurt, with respectively 39 and 58 apartments, implemented simultaneously by Interna in less than 9 months. Further apartments, 41 in Leipzig and 150 in Frankfurt, are currently being implemented with a new concept.

It is thanks to this age-old expertise, mixed with a high-tech management approach, that Interna could express here its excellence and bring to the other side of the world the best of the Italian manufacturing on time, within the budget and with the quality standard agreed upon. Interna Asia Pacific supported the project acting here as trait-d’union between Interna Italy and the client and coordinating the complex relations between owner, designer and the Italian technical and manufacturing team for a 100% Made in Italy production.

Interna implemented the concept designed by Citterio-Viel and Partners in Milan, with the complete fit out of all the areas. All the treatment rooms, a booth dedicated to Thai massage, a spacious VIP Suite, a beauty salon, a mani-pedi treatment studio, a hair salon, a spa boutique, an indoor pool, a fitness centre, stained glass stairs, bathrooms and entrance areas, have been executed turnkey in less than 12 months.

Built on an isle of its own, the Four Seasons Bahrain Bay hotel, 68 floors that reshape the city skyline, is an architectural statement of intent in the heart of Manama, the capital of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Interna supplied part of the loose furnishings -chairs, tables, coffee tables, armchairs and casegoodsfor the 273 rooms, including 57 suites, and public areas, respecting the highest quality levels of production for all items supplied. The combined design of three studios, Waldo’s Designs, Pierre-Yves Rochon and EDG Design, underlines clean but soft lines, with refined and precious finishes such as ebony and leather, high glossy Meranti mahogany and Eramosa marble. The furniture presents a high glossy finish for the wood essences with contrasting metal finishes such as antique brass and polished stainless steel.

Costa Diadema cruise ship presents, in its most prestigious areas, the work of Interna. The design, work of the American Maestro Joseph Farcus, historic name of the naval interior design with a long lasting connection with the Costa company, foresaw rich and sparkling environments, capable to involve all the senses and evoke strong emotions. The contract between Fincantieri and Interna included a complete turnkey for the Aft Lounge, Piano Bar and 4D Cinema areas, with the implementation of floors and wall covering along with the production and installation of all loose and fixed furniture, lighting and artwork. To allow the guest to enter a dream dimension, Interna created impeccable inlayed floors, seatings with refined velvets and leathers, casegoods with an intriguing mix of wood, steel and marble and lighting systems with continuous plays of light for a constant transformation of the environment’s colours. All works have been carried out in respect of the highest quality standards as well as international naval ruling on safety and health.

In the center of Italy’s fashion capital sits the stylish Four Seasons Hotel Milano, housed in a former 15th-century convent. The hotel exudes Old World charm with its frescoes, stone accents and vaulted ceilings.

Interna implemented the renovation of this historic Hotel, carrying out in less than three months the complete fit out of part of the rooms, suites and apartments of the hotel. The skilful maquillage is the work of the Parisian Pierre-Yves Rochon, with whom Interna already worked for significant projects such as the Cafè de la Paix e Le Grand in Paris. All the items supplied have been designed and produced exclusively for this project, in compliance with high quality standards and enhanced by the presence of art pieces produced in different styles and places, of precious curtains and upholsteries, of unusual boiseries and marbles, as to offer to the guest the cosiness and comfort of a sophisticated metropolitan home.

The complete fit out of the thermal and wellness centre, with the fitness area, the spectacular 15 meters swimming pool, the comfortable treatment areas and the wide relax area engaged Interna for more than ten months. A highly specialized team installed plasterboards and floorings, ceilings and walls and dealt successfully with the challenge posed by the dimensions and forms of the spaces: very high ceilings and a preponderance of curved walls to be covered with rather unyielding materials such as various types of stone.

A trendy, casual boutique hotel, the Mama Shelter concept has been conceived by the French philosopher and urbanist Cyril Aouizerate and the Trigano family (founder of ClubMed) with the aim of offering a high-quality experience at low-end prices. With the design of Philippe Starck, the Mama Shelter Marseille and Lyon are the second and the third openings after the first hotel of the chain that opened in Paris in 2008. Interna supplied the furniture for rooms, suites and bathrooms of these hotels in a very short time. The items produced upon design have a strong playful sprit, with an eclectic mix of forms and materials, and a mix of items and décors: traditional wooden furniture along with pop lamps created with masks of comic characters, high tech bedside tables in steel and traditional plaster-decorated ceilings, all produced with the upmost care and the highest quality standards.

The NoMad Hotel is housed in a turn of the century Beaux-Arts building that has been fully restored to its original grandeur with interiors designed by the French designer Jacques Garcia. The hotel is intended as a fresh take on the classic grand hotels of Europe, but with a distinct New York sensibility. Interna’s long lasting cooperation with Jacques Garcia found its top-level of expression within this hotel for which Interna supplied a range of high-end seatings, tables and case-goods, both for public areas and for rooms and suites. Many of these items have been designed and produced specifically for the project, whereas many others have been selected from Interna’s collection Les Grands Classiques de Jacques Garcia, which contains more than 50 Garcia designs, produced with the highest standards of quality and distributed exclusively since 2005.

The hottest boutique hotel in Sydney, the QT hotel has been created within the historic Gowings and State Theatre buildings on the corner of George and Market Streets. Interna, together with its sister company in Shanghai, Interna Asia Pacific, was chosen to supply the custom made furniture for the guestrooms and selected public areas. Indyk Architects were the architects for the interior planning layouts and realization of 200 guestrooms and their hallways. The spaces are designed for an artistic, quirky elite that love the ‘art’ of hotel staying, the excitement of a new experience, valuing high level design and desiring comfort and surprise. Indyk Architects worked with the remnant historical details to create a new modern language of design with bespoke detailing at every turn. Rooms planned within the old buildings have diversity and uniqueness. There are four colour palettes over the two buildings, accompanied by various fabric options, a diverse and quirky range of lighting including pendants, standing and bedside lights, curtains and a selection of timbers for the joinery. All built in and loose furniture was custom designed and produced with the highest quality standard.

Summum is the Dutch word meaning summit, the perfect name for The Netherlands’ most exclusive private jet lounge located at the private jet terminal of Schiphol. Designed by the Dutch studio FG stijl, the lounge combines style with practical functionality at the highest level of luxury and is divided into meeting rooms and lounge areas, distinguished by their size and functionality. For this project Interna supplied the majority of the loose furniture, with a predominance of items belonging to its own collection AngloDutch designed in 2008 by FG stijl studio. Underlying the whole project is the leitmotiv of a sophisticated, precious elegance that, while hinting at times gone by, fully meets the requirements of today’s international lifestyle.

The spa, covering the last two floors of the hotel and with a panoramic terrace that offers an exceptional view over Bordeaux, was wholly implemented by Interna in 2011, following the design of the French interior decorator Jacques Garcia. In detail, Interna implemented a vast area including a welcome reception, a 120 square metres pool, a spa area with a sauna, massage rooms, a number of relaxation areas, a two level coiffeur salon, a bar on the terrace, a lounge club and a whirlpool bath. For this strongly characterised space, many items were selected from Interna’s own collection Les Grands Classiques de Jacques Garcia launched in 2006 and based on a long lasting partnership with the French designer.

Located in the stylish Media Harbour district, the Hyatt Regency Dusseldorf is a design hotel overlooking the Rhine and the city skyline, in close proximity to cultural attractions and shopping opportunities. Interna’s long lasting cooperation with the Hyatt chain found again expression in this project, for which it supplied the loose furniture - upholstery, tables and case goods - for the public areas and for the 300 rooms and suites. Many items selected from Interna hospitality collections found place all over the hotel, all customized to follow the inspiring genius loci of the client and the creative talent of the FG stijl design studio.

After having performed in 2008 for the Carnival Dream and in 2009 for the Azura, in 2010 Interna intensified its cooperation with the Fincantieri shipyards by supplying the furniture for the public areas of the Queen Elisabeth cruise ship, launched by Cunard. Interna supplied millwork and loose furnishings from floor to ceiling for the Queen’s & Princess Grill, the Queen’s Grill Lounge, the Courtyard Grill Terrace and the Yacht Club.

Interna was called to supply the loose furnishings of the Armani Hotel Dubai and Armani Residences Dubai that were the first to open as part of the collection of Armani Hotels, Armani Resorts and Armani Residences planned in key cities across the globe. The scope of work of Interna included case goods, chairs, armchairs and beds: around 6000 unique and exclusive items produced with the highest quality standards, all personally designed by Giorgio Armani.The supplied furnishings highlight simple lines and perfect proportions, are enriched by precious materials, refined finishes, and elegant textiles. The distinctive style incorporates a harmonious combination of different inspirations and design codes to form a sophisticated atmosphere.

The first Ducati Caffè designed and performed by Interna is located within the Ducati headquarters at Borgo Panigale (Bologna) and has been named Ducati Caffè Factory. Shortly after, Interna implemented two further cafés: the Ducati Caffè Bankok and the Ducati Caffè Dubai.

The Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest, one of the city’s most sophisticated and prestigious landmarks dating back to 1914, is located within the heart of the city and offers spectacular views over Revolution Square and the Romanian Athenaeum. A favourite of the world’s elite since 1923, La Mamounia is where Winston Churchill escaped the pressures of war by painting the Atlas mountains from his suite, and where today’s international business moguls, sports stars, and artists mingle, among Jacques Garcia designed interiors under the shade of the 700 year old olive groves grown for a prince. This historic Moroccan hotel, well above any star classification, reopened its doors to the public in 2009, astonishing the world after an extensive 3 year renovation work of the Parisian Maestro Jacques Garcia. Interna supplied furnishings and upholstery items both for the public areas and for the rooms and suites, where the Moroccan splendour and the quality of the Made in Italy have been mixed in a wondrous match. Many were the items selected from the monographic collection of Interna Les Grands Classiques de Jacques Garcia that joined the ad hoc produced furnishings.

The Italian Bar, with its elegantly feminine character, opens out onto the Majorelle gallery, the legendary ceiling of which was painted personally by the hotel’s interior designer in 1923. Wide, deep armchairs, a piano and a double bass create a comfortable musical atmosphere.

In the French restaurant six ivory satin lanterns, Burgundy red armchairs and magnificent orange satin curtains create beautiful combinations of colour and a relaxing, peaceful and elegant atmosphere. In the many living areas, the colors in tones of beige, vibrant red and green, precious velvets, the taffetas and the rare materials and finishes integrate seamlessly with the structure to create a refined Arab-Andalusian atmosphere.

An outstanding hotel, the Athénée evokes the romantic allure of 19th century Italy, a perfect balance of refined elegance and modern comfort, with very special materials and lavish fabrics. Seatings and tables for the whole hotel have been selected from the collection Les Grands Classiques de Jacques Garcia, line presented by Interna in 2005, but made unique by the fabrics and wooden finishes ad hoc selected.

It is located directly across from the terminal, offering convenient, elite access for busy travelers. The interior design combines ultra modern architecture with high tech state of the art comforts. Interna was commissioned to provide furnishings for the executive lounges and for the meeting rooms which highlight simple, refined and elegant lines. All the items are of exceptional quality and are enhanced by the use of warm, unusual and precious woods in contrast with cold complements in steel and glass.

Interna entered the sector of the naval fit out in 2008 with the works carried out for Fincantieri for the Carnival Dream. Such works included the whole fit out of the millwork of three public areas, Aft Lounge, Jazz Club And Piano Bar, for a total surface of 1,050 square meters. The interiors have mosaic and marble floors, upholstered walls enriched with Venetian masks and curvilinear ceiling, illuminated by huge glass chandeliers. The electronically managed illumination has been specially designed, in order to create suggestive light games, thus contributing to the creation of an eclectic oeuvre d’art, to involve passengers in a timeless dimension. The Carnival Dream was a significant project allowing Interna to enter the world of the naval sector and to start a fruitful cooperation with Fincantieri.

The hotel-palazzo Danieli is the epitome of the splendour and charm of Venice. Only a few steps away from the S. Marco square, the Danieli is one of the most renowned examples of the refined hospitality in Europe and the favourite luxury hotel in Venice for many generations of guests. For this project Interna supplied a range of seatings, both for the public areas and for the rooms and suites. Many pieces have been designed specifically for this projects, whereas many others have been selected from the furniture collection that the Parisian designers Jacques Garcia created exclusively for Interna in 2005.

This sophisticated, modern resort on the tranquil Cape Verde Peninsula counts more than 200 guest rooms and fully equipped apartments, characterized by a superb contemporary design. Interna implemented this prestigious project turnkey, producing and installing millwork and loose furniture for the entire hotel, following the exclusive design of the South African interior design studio Antoni Associates. In detail, its scope of work included all fixed and loose furniture for the public areas, the rooms and suites, the meeting rooms and the back of the house, i.e. all the operational offices as well as all necessary equipment for hotel life (industrial kitchens, laundry, table wear, and so on). The Radisson Blu Hotel Dakar is another proof of the long lasting relationship between Interna and the Radisson hotel chain, which during the years has seen the implementation of many hotels, starting in Hannover in 2000.
