A MORE SUSTAINABLE INTERIOR DESIGN As part of the SANDOW carbon impact initiative, all publications, including INTERIOR DESIGN and METROPOLIS, are printed using soy-based inks, which are biobased and derived from renewable sources. This continues Sandow Design Group’s ongoing efforts to address the environmental impact of its operations and media platforms. We have a partnership with Keilhauer to offset all estimated carbon emissions for the printing and distribution of every print copy of INTERIOR DESIGN in 2025 with verified carbon credits, including the one you hold in your hands.
This magazine is recyclable. Please recycle when you’re done with it. We’re all in this together.

(shhh…we’re back!) e d i t o r ’s welcome
Oh, the best-laid plans. So, I’m trying my damnedest to deliver an unpolluted, super-polished, all-you-can-humanly-intake hospitality issue that checks all the pro toolboxes (and then some), and then, lo and behold, two other fantastic projects—with zero shelf life to remain media virgins—come knocking at our doors. Lose them? Upon my stiff, lifeless carriage, sayz moi! With that editorial clarification out of the way (phew!), and without needing to properly school you on how to solve today’s workplace and installation commissions, please dive right into the lavishly illustrated pages of our October hospitality affair. As we are justly famed for, it is a worldwide tour covering the most progressive corners of our trade. There’s a stunning hotel in Paris with an eclectic, perfectly curated mix of antique and vintage treasures (tres chic!); a pretty-in-rosépink (and calming blue) private kitchen/showroom/event space in Hong Kong; a yummy selection of Milanese restaurants by local talent (not all serving Italian fare, but deliziosa nonetheless); and an extraordinary global roundup of hotels and resorts that each bring their culture, craft, spirit, and modern flair (wanna meet me there?)! One last, important thingy. Not exactly a feature you’ll find inside, but a PSA—and the most important hospitality project in our neck of the woods (and my life) for the next couple of months: Interior Design, and the Hall of Fame, are coming back home to the Waldorf Astoria! Woo-hoo! Yep: After nine long years wandering in the semidesert landscapes of Manhattan, we will all meet again and celebrate at the Waldorf—our year-end tradition. We’ll cheer, hoot, and gasp once again at the inductees and the video programs in that hallowed ground of design, and we’ll also have the scrumptious chance to see, firsthand, what a rumored $2 billion reno looks like (yes, that’s a 2 followed by a big, fat B). So, get your name in that “raffle” pronto, you feel me? I can’t wait! xoxo,
Follow me on
