The Council on International Relations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark wishes everyone
A merry christmas and a happy new year

2024 is coming to an end, and Christmas is approaching. After another eventful year, we at the Council on International Relations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark would like to thank our partners for all their valuable efforts and contributions throughout the year.
Here are some of the events and initiatives from our diverse work and engagements this year:
▪ Accompaniment of Bishop Henrik Stubkjær in his first year as president of the Lutheran World Federation
▪ Solidarity visit to the Lutheran Church in Jordan and Palestine
▪ Election of Laura Fischer as council member in Communion of Protestant Churches in Europe
▪ Peace services at Holmens Church in Copenhagen and Ribe Cathedral
▪ Participation in European efforts for preparing peace in Ukraine
▪ Migrant conference at Nyborg Strand with nearly 100 participants
▪ "mainstreaming" of work with migrants - i.e., guiding parishes on how they can integrate migrant work into all that they already do
▪ Strengthened focus on cooperation with diocesan committees on international relations to contribute to the development of interchurch work at the diocesan, deanery, and parish levels
▪ Establishment of an association for the support of the autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ukraine in Denmark
▪ Creation of Forum for Public Theology
▪ Contributions to the debate on "dual church membership"
Our work is made possible thanks to the dedicated participants in councils and working groups, as well as the elected political representatives of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark and members of diocesan committees on international relations. Thank you!
