Opened in 2018, the Comcast Technology Center redefined the Philadelphia skyline, standing 1,121 feet tall across 62 stories.

With nearly 1.6 million square feet, the skyscraper houses Comcast’s innovation hub, stateof-the-art broadcast studios for NBC 10 and Telemundo 62, and the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia.

With its role as a global innovation center, there was no room for dead zones or signal degradation. The building’s wireless ecosystem needed to be as dynamic and future-focused as its mission.

DAS Design & Deployment Intenna Systems engineered and supported the installation of a fiber-to-the-edge (FTTE) Distributed Antenna System (DAS), utilizing one of the most advanced DAS platforms available on the market.

This architecture brings fiber and power closer to the antennas resulting in lighter and shorter compact coaxial cable runs improving energy efficiency in some cases.

Scalability for 5G: The DAS supports current 4G LTE networks while providing a clear path to 5G upgrades.

High Capacity: Built to meet exceptionally high user density and data consumption demands.

Neutral Host Operation: The system is managed by a thirdparty neutral host provider, allowing participation by multiple carriers and improving ROI. Designed to accommodate technology upgrades as wireless evolves through the years.

Recognizing the critical role of facilities and security operations, Intenna Systems also designed and installed a separate, standalone UHF DAS. This dedicated network ensures uninterrupted two-way radio communications across all 62 stories of the tower, including below-ground levels essential for emergency response and operational coordination.
