The Cambridge Starters and Movers Diplomas’ Ceremony is among the most treasured events of the Language Department in Instituto La Paz. It provides us with the opportunity to get together, recognise and share the hard work and achievements of our young students with the school community and their parents.

This Ceremony was held on October 24th and we had the great pleasure to gather as a community and see the happy smiling faces of our young students and their families. We had the honour to receive and listen to the kind speech from our evaluation centre representative; Xóchitl Arvizu and our school directors, who handed out the Certificates to the children.

Our school has always been among the top ranked in terms of test scores and these exams were no exception. We are extremely glad at the fact that our students excelled in their results. In our Starters group, all of them got more than 9 shields out of a total of 15 and 92% of our 2nd and 3rd graders got more than 12 shields.

As for Movers, 89% got a result between 12 and 15 shields.

This certainly wouldn’t have been possible without the commitment of the students, teachers and

families and that is why we would like to thank parents for supporting their children through this language learning journey and the teachers who prepared them. We all know that great achievements require collective efforts towards the development of these young talents.

We hope that these results will encourage you all to keep learning and improving your skills in English and every single student taking the exams this term and the years to come.

Tras una larga pausa generada por la contingencia sanitaria mundial, la alegría y la fiesta volvieron a llenar los pasillos del Instituto La Paz. El motivo fue la celebración de una importante fecha para los mexicanos: el Día de Muertos.

Monstruos, catrinas, piratas, momias y zombies se pasearon por el Colegio y disfrutaron cantando en el karaoke, visitando la casa del Terror, jugando al bingo de Halloween y disfrutando de los ricos antojitos mexicanos preparados para ellos.

Un reconocimiento especial merecen los alumnos de tercero de secundaria, quienes se encargaron de guiar a los visitantes de la ofrenda, de recitar calaveritas literarias y de montar la casa del terror; actividades de las que disfrutaron todos los alumnos.

Nuestros alumnos mostraron así ser solidarios y buenos comunicadores.

Con esta celebración matenemos vivas las tradiciones mexicanas, a la vez que expresamos una mentalidad internacional al integrar diversos elementos culturales.

Venez et vivez La Semaine du Goût avec nous !

La section de français a organisé une sorte d’activités autour de la semaine du goût : Les enfants ont eu l’opportunité de profiter des ateliers thématiques a propos des saveurs, des couleurs, bien sûr Les aliments, et à la fin une dégustation de différents aliments par

couleur! Cette expérience a

été enrichissante pour nos élèves.

L’objectif est de donner les clés pour comprendre le goût, le rôle des sens et les différentes saveurs dans les aliments mais surtout d’apprendre sur la culture et la tradition française.

¡Hola indagadores!

Queremos compartirles algo sensacional que realizaron los alumnos de la asignatura de español del Programa de Años Intermedios, pues han hecho pasar un buen momento de aprendizaje y diversión a los chicos de primaria.

Todo empezó con un proyecto colaborativo entre la Academia de Lengua y Literatura de PAI y biblioteca, quienes propusieron realizar un ejercicio de comprensión lectora llamado “Jóvenes creando en el mundo lúdico de la literatura”.

Con el propósito de integrar, incentivar y dar a conocer a los alumnos estrategias para practicar las habilidades de razonamiento verbal y comunicación para fomentar el hábito de la lectura y el gusto por la misma, así como fortalecer y poner en práctica las habilidades de pensamiento crítico y creativo, habilidades de comunicación y por supuesto habilidades sociales y de colaboración desde la planeación, la investigación, el proceso y el producto final. Los alumnos además pusieron en práctica atributos como buenos comunicadores, mentalidad abierta, pensadores y reflexivos.

Se invitó a los alumnos a trabajar en este proyecto, en el cual realizaron una indagación sobre el tema de “Día de Muertos” en diferentes fuentes primarias, bajo el concepto clave de comunicación, asimismo trabajaron la creatividad y la expresión, que permitió la elaboración de su producto como juegos de mesa, a los que nombraron con los diferentes elementos que se celebran en este día.

Tuvimos la oportunidad de jugar con los estudiantes de PEP que nos visitaron en la biblioteca el pasado 1°de noviembre y que nos han hecho pasar un buen momento donde aprendimos sobre esta importante celebración.

Hacemos un gran reconocimiento a las profesoras de la Academia de Lengua y Literatura y a todas aquellas autoridades que han hecho posible esta primera parte.

Pero definitivamente una felicitación desde aquí a todos los alumnos que participaron y nos han hecho vivir una experiencia de aprendizaje muy divertida.

Nowadays, Halloween is considered a holiday for dress up and have fun, especially for children. In Instituto La Paz kindergarten it was not the exception.

Such a successful event was inseparable from the efforts of all students. Children arrived happily wearing funny and spooky costumes. Besides, they were received by the enthusiastic teachers who were wearing costumes too.

Children had many fun activities such as a Halloween parade where they wore their favorite costumes and showed them to their parents. Also, they sang spooky

Halloween songs with the excitement to their parents, both, in English and in Spanish.

Children tricked or treated among themselves and a lot of fun activities where they developed their creative thinking by making handcraft headbands working cooperatively. Instituto La Paz seeks students have fun learning and playing developing different skills every day.
