Background information / context;-
• ITPM Mentors captaining this program were Anton Kreil (Managing Partner), Edward Shek and Jason Mcdonald (Senior Trading Mentors) with support from Philip Klein and Dieter Plas (Junior Trading Mentors).
• Every participant is a Retail Trader, trading their own money deposited at the Brokerage firms Tradestation in the U.S. or Interactive Brokers in Europe or Canada.
• Everyone in the group completed the IPLT, PTM and POTM Video Series provided by the Institute of Trading and Portfolio Management prior to arriving in Thailand on April 16th 2025.
• Students / participants spent 10 days in Thailand prior to live trading being taught in person in the at the ITPM resort / classroom by both the Senior and Junior Trading Mentors.
• The minimum account size deposit was $50,000 to participate in the program.
• Every student / participant traded U.S. Stock Options implementing the ITPM Long Short Equity Options Portfolio Management Directional strategy (20-60 day time horizon).
• Trade Ideas are generated by the participants utilizing the ITPM Trade Idea Generation Process.
• Participants receive weekly ZOOM Calls with their Mentors for 1-2 hours in which the Mentor and student participant devise a weekly trading plan.
Notable insights;-
• The group made a profit of $970,819 from a starting capital of $3,488,000 or 27.83% in 12 weeks.
• This is the most amount of Dollars made on an ITPM Thailand Mentoring since launch in 2015.
• 29 of 30 participants made money in absolute terms = 97% student Win Rate over 12 weeks.
• The student making the highest Absolute $ Return made $258,000 USD in 12 weeks.
• On the Outperformance / Underperformance (O/U) measure, the vast majority of the group Outperformed the major indices The group average Outperformance was by 12%-17% in an “up market” May 5th-Aug 1st during the program.
• The Win / Loss percentage of the group i.e. Winning vs Losing Trades was W=62% vs L=38%.
• The R-Score measures the amount of Dollars the group or an individual booked on their Winning Trades versus the amount of Dollars they booked on their Losing Trades. The group on average booked 1.83 times the amount of Profit Dollars on their Winning Trades versus the amount of Losses they booked on their Losing Trades.
• 11 of the 30 participants achieved R-Scores above 2 with the highest participant achieving 3.92.
• The bottom 6x participants struggled by either barely making money or hovering around flat performance over the 12 weeks. This is what we call at ITPM “a failure to launch.” There is no one reason why this happens. It can happen for various reasons.
• 2x participants in the bottom 6 suspended / pulled out of their Mentoring Program due to personal reasons by week number 5. Their results are taken from the end of Week 5.
• Participants originated from 12 different countries.
