Department Launches Digital Pathology in 2012

Under the direction of Dr. Thrall, whole slide imaging (WSI) technology will be implemented between January and March of this year. WSI involves the digitization of glass slides into high-resolution images. The WSI capabilities will initially be used to facilitate consultations between pathologists at our Texas Medical Center hospital and the outlying hospitals.
