SECONDARY STATE SCHOOL, SOMERSET
This single-storey extension has been designed to modernise and expand the school’s current dining facilities whilst providing very efficient cost per square metre to meet the budget constraints of the Government Condition Fund (CIF). The ergonomic layout with an overhead central skylight works with pops of colour throughout, creating a spacious, light and safe environment for the children to break between lessons.

INDEPENDENT SCHOOL, SOMERSET
As part of the refurbishment of the Art, Design and Technology Building, the façades of the Food Studies ‘cube’ have been replaced with a sustainable wood effect, stone panel product to provide fire resilience and low maintenance. The design was meticulously set out and scheduled to optimise panel cutting to provide a random, horizontal layout with tonal colours to provide a warm and natural appearance. The finished result greatly improves the original dated, rendered finish and improves the learning environment for pupils.

SECONDARY SCHOOL, SOMERSET
The new two-storey science building provides accommodation on a compact footprint that uses the limited school site efficiently and provides the school with seven new laboratories, supporting preparatory rooms and staff facilities The form of the building responds to the existing 1953 main building which uses strong brick panels and areas of glazing. The design programme was short to meet ACMF funding deadlines with an equally tight construction period

This two-storey building makes efficient use of a limited floor area to provide a distinctive and stimulating environment for the new sixth form building with classrooms, art studios, computer suites, internet café, business and media and a ‘black box’ performance/lecture theatre. Our Chartered Architect* provided Architecture and Project Management services and the building was completed to a restricted budget, on time for its opening The building was shortlisted in the RIBA South West Town & Country Design Awards Services

This two-storey design technology building has been designed to provide a very efficient cost per square metre to meet the budget constraints of the Government Condition Improvement Fund (CIF). The new building provides resistant materials workshops, design technology classrooms and technician support spaces. A metal clad first floor over a brick ground floor with pops of colour provides the children with a modern, light and stimulating environment to work in.

Following success last year at gaining Full Planning Permission for a Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA), floodlighting, car parking and netball court works for our client’s Preparatory School in Tiverton, we are assisting the school with visuals to help stakeholders visualise the MUGA within its setting. We co-ordinated a team of professionals to steer the proposals through the planning process for this sensitive site, which is within a Conservation Area and located adjacent to the Tidcombe Lane Fen, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

This single-storey toilet extension has been designed to provide the school with externally accessible toilets to serve the sports pitches and improve the existing facilities on offer. Concept designs were developed, picking up references from the newly built library, whilst connecting it to the school through its bold coloured soffits matching the school’s sports kit.

We were asked to provide concept images that could be used in promotional material to help the school generate interest and attract funding for potential projects across the school. Concept designs were developed for a new swimming pool, new music centre, new dining hall and new science lobby. Our software capabilities allow us to work quickly from a client’s vision and our initial sketches to generate rendered images with enhanced backgrounds and the application of a variety of textures, lighting and shading.
